  1. Props to you. I wish the Danes/Eastern alliance luck with trying to recruit US/North American players from PvP 2 given the volume of insults that they have been tossing at US players in the forums.
  2. More Danish rogue clans to be blamed for running up hostility after we were told the Danes had quit the game?
  3. My bold emphasis above. So what would you have the US players do? Should the eastern half of US/North American based players who can do port battles in their prime time simply stop doing PBs (because those in the western time zones are already unable to due to game mechanic)?
  4. Can't wait to hear the next chapter of your story. Fair weather and smooth sailing to you!

  8. And hey, if the summit works out, maybe the Devs can turn it into a future Game Labs product: Diplomatic Action
  9. What Sir Samuel Hood and Christendom said. Adding: doing a meeting on TeamSpeak for more than 24 people quickly becomes unwieldy. As mentioned, many/most of the nation's on PvP 1 have several "ambassadors" that serve as a communication conduit with the other nations. I am not sure how they were chosen for every nation, but for most I believe they were chosen by that nation's form of governing council, major clans, or maybe just drew the short straw. It's not perfect but it tends to work for the most part. Ideally the ambassadors/representatives have spoken with their nation's council, major clans, etc. and arrived at a consensus or outline of things they can agree on. Points may be discussed during the Diplomatic summit, and if necessary the ambassadors/delegates can go back to their nations afterward for further discussion and to seek approval for points of agreement. Speaking for myself only, am I expecting this meeting on Saturday to come to some game changing agreement by the end of the meeting time? Likely not. But hopefully, it will establish a basis for further discussion and set the groundwork for improved diplomatic relations on PvP 1.
  10. I was in that discussion that Augustus is referring to and recall hearing the exact same thing.
  11. I simply acknowledged his sarcasm with honesty. It's my shortcoming....honest to a fault. ;-)
  12. It wasn't so long ago that the United States nation on PvP1 server was the little runt in the game. We couldn't field a 25 ship 1st rate PB fleet. We had to let our British and Dutch allies fight our 1st rate PBs. We seemed to be overly dependent on our Dutch and British allies. We couldn't even prevent the daily Swedish and SORRY swarms that hung outside our capital Charleston harassing our traders and new players trying to rank up. Yes, we were in rebuilding mode after being twice beaten down to our capital by the pirates. It has taken a while, rebuilding our numbers, trying to raise morale in a demoralized nation, trying to organize a disorganized nation, trying to get new players trained/ranked up, and to get new (and existing) clans involved in a national effort. Azu, thank you for acknowledging "the might of the US nation". I don't think that we are there yet. We don't have the sort of elite 25 ship 1st rate fleet such as the Danes had for months. But we are scrappy. We are trying to get there. And thanks to a lot of hard work, and to the assistance of our ever steadfast British and Dutch allies, we were able to pull off something (winning 2 PBs at Savannah and Santo Domingo against the Danes) that most never thought could happen (hell, I was surprised). i don't want to see any nation beaten down to its capital. I've lived through that twice in this game. The US nation simply wants to be able to have content during times that it's player base can participate in. We are still not there as most North American players in the Mountain and Pacific time Zones do not get home in time to be able to participate in port battles on weekdays.
  13. Your allies the Spanish did that the other day (the same day in fact as the Savannah &Santo Domingo PBS) when they had a PB at Islamorada at like 9:30 or 10 AM EST... that is in the start of the US work/school day. (PS, the US lost Islamorada for those without a scorecard).
  14. Two servers in different time zones and BOTH have the same PB timer restrictions (which restrict the Mountain and Pacific time zones from any RvR during their prime time).
  15. Good luck! I'm sure will will see you soon...Islamorada....Cuba...
  16. These would be tweaks to ships that would otherwise never happen because they are so low on the game developers priority list. However, if enough players are interested in seeing those ship tweaks happen, AND are willing to fund it, then why not? If you are fine with the existing Connie, you need do nothing. If you want to see her tweaked then pay a little something towards a kickstarter. If funding is successful, the tweaks will be done and implemented into the game, for everybody.
  17. I think a Connie kickstarter would be a good test for this concept. Players have expressed an interest in it; would be willing to fund such an effort. If it is successful then by all means offer additional kickstarters for ships from other nations. And if this were kickstarter funded, there would be no time, effort, resources taken away from other game development as the funds/resources devoted to a Connie improvement would be entirely from kickstarter, nothig from the normal game development.
  18. I think that it will affect more than just PVE. It will be much more difficult for new players who join the game on one of the PvP servers to rank up.
  19. Snaff, Firstly, your (translated) English is fine. I was able to understand your points. Secondly, your suggestions are good. There are a lot of opportunities to improve the game mechanics when it comes to clans, warehouses, etc. I would like to think that the developers are focusing the efforts now on the more important "must haves" to get the game ready for release, and then can turn their attention to the "nice to haves" (such as clan and warehouse management) after the game has been released.
  20. To piggy back off you idea, one should definitely be able to see what ships are in port (the player names AND their ships). During the Age of Sail one could walk the wharves and see exactly which ships were in port, see what their names were, etc.
  21. I understand that. Was just making a point. For what it's worth, I believe that when a player surrenders his ship it should count towards hostility.
  22. Let's also not forget that you can generate hostility by doing War Combat missions against AI's. AI's don't use this exploit.
  23. Sounds like "Battle" will be "WoWW"......World of Wooden Warships.
