  1. Been there done that. I previously crafted a string of 2/5 and 3/5 ships for another clan, then crafted one for myself and it came out 2/4.
  2. Clan warehouses have unlimited storage capacity. If you are not in a clan, you can start one (I think the cost is 100,000), then open a clan warehouse (another charge but not very much from what I understand). Then your storage problems are solved;
  3. While I have a character on the PVE server, I don't play there very often. I believe that you can open a 2nd clan warehouse at another port. It would be up to your clan though to transport (either by delivery if both ports are free towns or by trader ships) all the goods/resources to the new clan warehouse. I'm not sure whether you could open a clan warehouse in an allied port. At least (as it is the PVE server where ports cannot change hands through conquest) you would have no risk of having your clan warehouse in a conquered port.
  4. They also told stories of mermaids, Krakken/sea monsters, and sailing off the ends of the Earth because it was flat. Shall we also add those things into the game?
  5. With shifting alliance and so forth it might also lead to green on green incidents (accidentally shooting someone who is your ally) in a battle instance. Someone's first instinct might be to shoot at any flag different from their own, before remembering who is ally and who is enemy. I am fine with the way that it is right now (just my opinion though).
  6. If they were to do this as a one day thing (for Halloween), then I think it would be ok....but to do this full time, not so much. Ghosts...goblins...magic, etc. not desired in an Age of Sail game that seeks to be based on history and realism (at least that is my humble opinion).
  7. My theory is that the developers put this in intentionally for Halloween but accidentally released it early.
  8. Well, if that is what he was doing then I wish him well. He seems to be playing by himself....
  9. I am curious to hear more about this new treaty that Celtiberofrog is talking about? Who is this "new United States" that he is referring to? Who are the United States diplomats that Spain has supposedly been in negotiations with? I am asking around in the United States nation and no one seems to be aware of this.
  10. Congratulations to all the winners. Credit due to all the participants. Thanks to all the organizers, referees, streamers and those who sponsored/donated towards the prizes.. Also big credit to the developers for going out of their way to patch into the game the tournament room.
  11. Do you really intend to make that argument (including all those freetowns)? Because if that is what you want to do, then the following arguments can also be made: ---The Spanish were never pushed all the way back to Habana because "baracoa and cayman brac, coqui, sunbury, plymouth, plenty of ports". ---The US was never pushed all the way back to Charleston because "baracoa and cayman brac, coqui, sunbury, plymouth, plenty of ports". ---The British were never pushed all the way back to KPR because "baracoa and cayman brac, coqui, sunbury, plymouth, plenty of ports". ---The Dutch were never pushed back all the way to their capital because "baracoa and cayman brac, coqui, sunbury, plymouth, plenty of ports".
  12. This is just my own 2 cents as someone who is not a developer or tester: I would think that hostility would NOT be dependent on margins of victory. I would think that the level of hostility would be based primarily on the frequency of attacks. The more attacks, the higher the hostility level; the fewer the attacks, the lower the hostility level.
  13. Just to be clear: I am not saying the devs should not add a replay function to the game. That would be a nice to have. I'm saying let them get other high priority things into the game (things necessary for the game to be released) and then move onto things like replay. Also, I have no idea what sort of resources (programming) would be needed to implement a replay function. IF it were something that could be done quickly, with little resources AND not take away from other priority items, then they should go for it. But if it takes significant resources to develop and implement and it would delay other priority items (say for instance the next patch), then IMHO it can wait until after release.
  14. There is already 3rd party software that will let you record Naval Action game video to your heart's content. Go to You Tube and Search for Naval Action. There are probably hundreds of NA videos out there. And while having an in game video component would be a "nice to have", at this point I think that given the size of the development team, there are plenty of other content things that would be higher up the priority list. Let the developers get the "must haves" out there for final game release and then worry about the "nice to have" items after that.
  15. The port that you are transported to after losing a battle (losing a ship dura) does not necessarily have to be a national port, nor does it have to be one of your outposts. After the failed US attempted to take Kidds Harbor (on the Secret Island) on Saturday I (and many of the other US players) spawned at Atwood. Atwood is a free port....and I had no outpost there either.
  16. American Cotton currently plays no part in crafting the Constitution or any other American ship. The other "national" resources currently (or eventually will) play a part in the first rate ships of that nation. The US currently has no first rate ships (nor have I seen any indication on the horizon that there will be an American first rate ship introduced). In reality the US Navy had few first rate sailing ships ever introduced and those few that were would generally fall outside the time period that the game currently encompasses. See: USS Pennsylvania and US Navy ships of the line
  17. I can't find the post regarding this by I seem to have a recollection that when the PvP3 server was merged into PvP 1 EU, advice was given that any pending deliveries might be subject to loss (so claim outstanding ones and don't send new ones). My recollection could be wrong though....
  18. Dear Admin, You stated: I'm not sure if this has been asked and answered but I would like a clarification for the following: Some players utilize the holds of large trading ships (LGVs & Indiaman) as storage for resources and finished parts (Carriages, canvas rolls, etc). Admin states in his post that "All the player assets (outpost, ships, warehouse) of the ex -free town will be transferred to the new free town." Question: Can you please confirm whether the named "assets" includes everything in the holds of those ships.
  19. I know that we need to be patient. I would be happy if we got a announcement at the login screen said something like "The patch (with conquest reset) will be between October 5-8". That way you will definitely know that it is upcoming and a date range.. It provides the indicator that the patch is coming AND at the same time provides the devs some leeway on an implementation date
  20. I agree on the benefits of using Team Speak in the game. I mostly play on PvP 1 in the US nation, and I am in a clan. Not only does my clan have a TS channel, but there is also an informal TS channel for the US nation (the Tattered Flags clan TS). Not to use TS during port battles or major open water battles is foolish. I also have a British character on PvP 2, and while I play infrequently there, I have participated in port battles on PvP 2 from time to time. I have usually had no difficulty finding a TS channel for those PBs. (There was one specific time I remember where I had to ask in GB nation chat like 4 times AND pm at least 2 different players, but I was finally given the TS info). In almost all instances even a non-clan solo player would be able to find out and be granted access to TS on either server.
  21. I imagine that if you submit a ticket asking the developers to wipe out your rank and XP they could do so. You could donate all your ships/resources and mods to other players(I will volunteer to accept the gold mods). You could give all your money as well and close all your outposts. There you go, simple enough. ;-)
  22. I've only been playing this game since February or so, so i have not experienced a total wipe (which includes rank and XP). I suppose that I could live with having to re-earn XP to rank up again. But there are some players (some in my clan for instance) that have been playing this game for around 2 years (going back to Sea Trials) and have had their ranks/XP wiped 3-4 times in the past. They are (understandably) tired of grinding for rank/XP. Some of them would simply leave the game were they forced to do it once again. It would be sad to see people that have put this much time and effort testing and contributing towards making this game what it now is just to see them leave due to another total wipe.
