I was a beta tester on POTBS and sailed almost daily for the first year. It got boring and the players got silly so I stopped. Played on and off for several years and finally gave up. Did have some good times there though.

Yesterday the game graphics were really jerky. Was playing on ultra settings, which is usual. Still getting FR in the low 30's but it not smooth. Works good set on high.

I would mane my boat, "If you're close enough to read this, you're close enough to stern rake me."

I have been getting gamma changes in game. This started just a few days ago. Not a big deal, will mess with my graphics options when I get a chance. Any body else?

I have had nothing but good experiences so far. I have only seen one or two derogatory posts in lobby chat. I get in to the cutter and sailed VERY badly. Got no grief from my team mates. I kinda expected some. I got some severe bitch outs in POTBS, even from my soc mates. MMO gamers are assholes. So far I haven't met any while sailing here. It sounds like we have some MMO'ers coming in, from some of yer posts. Don't get me wrong on my derogatory use of MMO'ers, that is only to the ones who play like curs and blackguards. I really don't know how to handle them. My only suggestion is to do like your mom told you to do with bullies, ignore them. If the name is in the fight list, get out of the fight and let them fight themselves. Is there going to be a keel hauling mechanic later? I haven't sailed for a few days but will be on probably in the morning. I still haven't figured out how to fight the damn cutter so watch out if you see me at sea. You may be laughing so hard that you crash in to someone else. To those of you that I've sailed with, Great Times, Thankee Lads.

Iaon Griffud has a new show that I really enjoy. Maybe if we all write him and tell him to do a Captain Hornblower film during the hiatus. He's the perfect age to play HH in command of the Lydia. Ohh, lets have fun and cast it. My first offer...Batista for Brown.

I have stated, in game chat, that Charles Vane is a Dick. The AI is a little tough on us but they are beatable with tactics. Include in yer tactics that the AI captains are always Dicks. There, a little well placed profanity and crudeness to lighten the mood.

Oh, just thought of a question. How is WIN 8 for gaming. I have it on my tablet but not on my desktop, still WIN 7.

Yeah get to brag!!! Intel I7 980, a little old. 12 gig RAM. GTX680 4GB memory. Getting mid to high 40's FPS maxxed out. Runs smoothly with multiple ships showing. Oneironz...Cool case. I really want a GTX 980 BTW

To me it looks like the devs laid down the gauntlet on us. They said that if you prefere a complete game don't expext to enjoy the alpha.(not exact quote) Challenge excepted sir. We are going to test the game for you...COOL. We will report bugs...NO PROBLEM. We are going to sail and shoot guns and stuff like that...GEEZE, A LOT UF US HAVEN'T DONE THAT IN A WHILE. WE HAVE NEVER DONE THAT WITH THESE MIND BOGGLING GRAPHICS. WE WANT TO HELP MAKE THIS GAME THE BEST AOS GAME, LIKE EVER. Yeah, I think we can do that. It'll be tough, tou know, doing something we love, but I think we can. Help me out lads, tell em how bad sea trials are expected to be. Say it with love.

I like ship names. I put a lot of thought in to my ship names. I don't see it as arcade at all. Ship paint per choice as well. Many captains spent their own money to spruce up their ships, gold leaf, red rails, ect. BTW, I read that blue paint was very expensive. My favorite color is blue, shit. We could but our paint and stuff on the market. A Port Royal brance of Home Depot. Sorry, I still have a lot of faith in the future players of this game to not turn it in to just another MMO.

Hello Lads. Due to a winter storm here at home, I missed Veterans on the 11th and the Marine Corps Birthday on the 10th. In the avation business just a skiff of snow or frost will keep a plane from launching with out deice. I had one hell of a time trying to keep our gear ready through rapidly dropping temps. Couldn't log on. Enough with airplane drama. To all fellow vets/warriors like myself. Take time to be proud of your service and remember who you enlisted for. To my fellow Marines, Happy Birthday and Semper Fi, Oooh Rah!

Over here the navy guys say that the marines are part of the navy to which we reply, yes it is, the best part. Back in the old days I think that marines could shoot, foremost, then hand reef and steer. That probably went out when steam came in. The Marine Corps now is mostly a fighting force. We still do security in the big ships but, as far as I know, we don't do anything else tied to the running of the ship. Still, a lot of our gear is launched from navy ships so even though we tease them a little, we still like our slimy squids. Now SEALS, they are awesome. I am kind of out of touch on most things Marine Corps these days. There aren't a lot of Marines out here on the prairie. I try to keep read up though. Oldnavy, since our Marine Corps is modeled after the Royal Marines, please share any tid-bits ya can. Oh, sorry my typing was so atrocious in the last few posts.
