  1. We need some experience players in France - we can supply the ships and money... just message me - elricthetwo in the game, and on here...
  2. exactly - and that's part of the issue with the game - discussions and verbal agreements are all dependent on the latest crop of players. What was said and agreed to yesterday is worthless when players stop playing or change nations... This is especially true with large blocks of players change nations - the dynamic becomes very different. A large number of the players responding to this thread were in different nations 1-2 months ago...
  3. The USA is conspicuous in their absence from these posts. I have tried reaching out to the USA on a couple of occasions. Each time I get the 'we'll discuss and get back to you' treatment. After the port reset the discussions with Falkwulf, and a few other USA players, had the French staying in the gulf and there was a mutual non-aggression pact - even talk of an alliance. That all changed when the USA abruptly decided they wanted to take Texas and Louisiana. I don't think Falkwulf is playing at the moment as none of the in game messages to him are getting responses. The scheduled PB between GB and the Danes is WAY outside the Danes times zone - and that isn't going to help the balance either if the Brits take it. That region is the ONLY decent crafting region for the Danes and the Swedes. It was also a potential for the French to use if the alliance between France and the Danes completes in a few days. GB /USA players may want to set their alarm clocks for the early hours of the morning, as you can expect the Danes to retaliate in their time zones - 4am to 5am eastern time PB's looming if that region falls....
  4. Yes, the French are suffering for what is really a Dutch to Swedes feud - or more correctly a Dutch to two specific Swedes feud. The Dutch took our regions to stop the Swedes using them (although I don't think taking them stopped the Swedes from buying War Supply materials). The French don't need a lot to be productive. Really just a crafting region. The two current French regions don't have any crafting bonuses. The USA took out two main crafting regions. Texas (Strong Hull) and Louisiana (French Refit). Several players/nations have donated to the French - The Dutch and the Pirates. Both have given a considerable number of ships, materials, crafting help, etc. So please give those folks credit for assisting to help us rebuild. There are 8 French players in SINK - but all are relatively junior. 250, 350, 650 crew levels, and me with 1100 crew. There are a couple more French players other - and a few Alts voting in the wrong direction...
  5. our 8th member joined. Who else would like to join?
  6. It is very much appreciated.. So thank you Dutch for the donation. I have to also thank some of the pirates who have help with ship donations and some crafting help.
  7. Our 7th member just joined our SINK clan. So a promising start to the French rebuild. Hopefully a few more players come over to France to help.
  8. I don't want to see rewards from the first port battles giving ships or BP's for H Rattles and Ags, - ships that will be significantly superior to anything else. It might take some time to get aggression to 100% using navy brigs and snows, but it would be sad to see the winners of the first PB getting ships, and especially BP's, that make that nation dominant and essentially invincible.
  9. When the games goes full release, limit the ships available at the start of the release, and as time progresses, gradually add more and more of the ships to give a gradual increase in the firepower and speed for the ships introduced later. At the beginning, no 1st or 2nd rates, no ag;s wapen's, endy's, indiamans or heavy rattles. Just an assortment of vanilla ships - then every few weeks introduce new ships. This will give new players starting more chance, and limit how quickly anyone or any nation can become dominant.
  10. I remember a battle in my old Bellona - first time I sailed it - nearly got sunk, nearly got captured... the battle time expired just in time...
  11. For the first time in a while, France has a clan with more than 1 or 2 people in it. SINK. As of today, we have 5 clan members and are looking to recruit additional players into France. This clan is initially focused on developing new players and getting them promoted in rank / crafting level as quickly and effectively as possible. If you are looking to change nation, please contact me or any of the SINK clan members for help moving across to France. ElricTheTwo for France on PvP2, or message me on this forum. Any donations to the French rebuilding cause would be welcomed... Ships, redeemables, BP's... anything that would help (like a few regions for crafting - hint, hint)....
  12. PvP2. Would anyone be interested in setting up a couple of battles with traders on one side (and a few escorts) against a fast raider fleet of 5th and 6th rates intent on capturing/sinking the traders? Using the PvP Deepwater Event or big battle missions, we could have battles where 4-5 LGV/Indiaman with 2-3 escorts are attacked by other small Frigates or smaller. I used broadside weight as a rough balancing number. BR doesn't really work with traders. For example an 8 v 8 event Merchantman - total of 873 broadside weight 1 Indiaman - 225 4 LGV - 90 1 Belle Poule - 180 2 Navy Brig - 54 Versus Raiders - total of 810 broadside weight 2 surprise - 150 2 renommee - 129 1 Niagara - 90 3 Rattlesnake - 54 To make it more interesting and to ensure balance, there will be two battles, the roles get reversed after the first battle. The merchant players and raiders reverse roles. It would be nice to get at least one player form each nation/republic/whatever the pirates are involved The crew numbers: Merchantman = 1,890 versus Raiders 1,475 - making it difficult for the raiders to board unless they kill lots of crew. If we use the PvP Event, there is already a reward for doing well. If we use the big battles, we'll have to come up with something we all contribute to. So... any interest?
  13. From my personal French perspective. Growth of the French player base, access or ownership of enough regions to supply materials AND more importantly craft good ships. Be able to participate in PB's/battles and actually have a chance of winning... Related to all of this is balancing ships across the nations. Nations who can dominate and win a significant number of PB's now ensure all their players are showing up in ships that dominate against nations that do not have these ships. Redeemable ships and BP's gifted to winning PB players just ensure those player/nations continue to dominate. The Ag and Heavy Rattle in particular are top dogs in their PB's - and 25 connies against 25 Ags will not end well for the connies. Same with the Heavy rattlesnakes.
  14. I have a decent amount of materials on PvE - but I don't play on that server now. I would like to trade for similar stuff on the PvP2 (or PvP1) server. Anyone interested? 4 redeemable ships - Buc, Wapen, Endy, Inde 10 gold mods - gunnery x 2, steel toolbox, Rum rations, Opt Ballast, Opt Rudder, Extra staysails, Speed Trim, Grenades, Light Carriages 7 Labor/Labour contracts 1000+ silver coins 300 silver the usual misc materials... 900 gold coins, 300 redwood, more... All currently in Mortimer on PvE I use the same name on each server (French on PvP2, British on PvP1). ElricTheTwo message me on this forum.
  15. No issues - the only things shared between the various server accounts are the crafting labor/labour hours - and they will not change. I have three different nation accounts on the three servers. Pirate, French and British.

  17. The majority of the Danes are not USA based - they are in eastern Europe or the far east - so what is convenient to you and I is not to them. Previously with the old flag system, we battled the same issue - the Danes set their port times so they were all able to play - but that was 8am eastern time (or earlier on a couple of ports) - not something the majority of west coast USA players could make. There's no easy answer to this unless more servers are setup and you play the one best matched to your playing hours - and that won't happen with this sparse player base.
  18. The fear of war supplies is a silly argument. 5-6 players can raise aggression from zero to 100% in one hour.. I raised aggression on Texas this weekend - 3 fleet missions - 40%+ aggression - I get a 5%-6% minimum aggression, an average of 8%+ , and often 12%+ on 169XP fleet missions. 10-12 169XP (or better) missions is all that needs to be run. Given how long it often takes the aggression numbers to show accurately on the panel, nations have no defense against concerted aggression attacks through missions. With 5 players running mission, the aggression is at 50% before the defender can react, and by the time the defenders see the numbers, the attackers are already well into their second (and final) set of missions. Previously, I raise aggression on Texas from 0 to 100% by myself in a little over 3 hours.
  19. The Danes quit playing when the PvP servers became PvE as a requirement for PB's. The Dutch didn't seem to mind padding their PB side with GB & USA players when you took this port from the French, and now are complaining? Allies are the only thing that keeps small nations from being wiped out by large carebear alliances - and the only hope for getting ports that can be used in crafting.
  20. Fleet ships in PB's are captured ships. Capped ships always have the name of the captor and a number after them - so ElricTheTwo Fleet 0, 1, etc.
  21. I have a couple of ships stuck in towing. I sent some ships into an outpost I had in a captured port - I closed the outpost before the ships arrived - they are stuck in limbo until the French take the port back (which is probably never) - so I have 2 towing slots permanently lost...
  22. I certainly would like it for France - we have no regions with any crafting bonuses - and this one does have the British Refit - far better than no bonus...
  23. Originally when I started to think about this, I thought about taking the alliance region count for both the attacker and defender - but if a small nation is allied with a bigger nation, the attackers can pick on the weaker nation in the alliance and take them back to 1 region - that should not be allowed as alliances are temporary and frail in many cases. ...and even with alliances, there is no guarantee your partners will show up to help defend...
