  1. Your alliance partners can field PLENTY of players at the majority of times. Yes, the west coast USA is hurt by the PB cutoff times - but that hits everyone not just the Dutch..France has a number of players who rarely come online now - all because of this. The bigger issue GB/USA don't want to show up unless they outnumber the Danes/French/Swedes. The Dutch managed to get 9 or 10 players in the PB this morning - if your allies were worth anything, you would have easily outnumbered us this morning. Not our problem, it is your problem. It is not a developer issue, it is a Dutch/GB/USA player issue. Far too many of the GB/USA players are PvE or gankers ONLY. How many GB/USA players escape from battles as they are just getting going? Far too many - often before all the players are in the battle. On a couple of occasions USA/GB/Dutch players have abandoned when the PB should have been USA/GB/Dutch to win... sad mentality. I've said this many times - but far too many PvP2 players don't want to fight an even fight. I don't care if I'm outnumber 2:1 or 25:1 - I have not escaped a PB before the conclusion in a LONG time. Damn - I think the last what when I was fighting alongside the Dutch at Zoutman when the Pirates turned my ship into Swiss cheese.
  2. I'm a purchasing manager and work with suppliers in Australia, Taiwan, Japan, China, Vietnam, UK, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Canada and across the USA. So I have a decent awareness of what time it is around the world as I have to plan my waking hours around this - I can be on the phone with Australia in my late evening, or on the phone with China early in my morning.. It is especially confusing when the northern hemisphere switches to summer time and the southern hemisphere goes the other way. My supplier in Argentina goes from 1 hour to 2 hour to 3 hour different over a 2 week period - then 6 months later changes back...
  3. ???? you are showing a remarkable lack of understanding of time zones. Spend 5 minutes and look at the times in different countries around the world for workday and weekends. If you actually look at this stuff, you wouldn't make this comment. If the Danes/Chinese should go to PvP1, then so should all the Aussies - and probably all the New Zealand, Korean, Japanese players as well.. That would leave less than 50% of the PvP2 players left.... not exactly what is needed. Just because Game-Labs doesn't cater to your exact time zone, you think everyone else should leave.... interesting concept.
  4. If you spent the time to understand the time zones around the world, you wouldn't need make this statement. Early morning USA time is the evening to late evening for the Chinese players. Friday evening in the USA, is Saturday morning in China. If you look at when the Danes show up, it matches this....
  5. Port Battles on weekends are the only answer while the server population is split across so many time zones. The Danes have attended battles during the USA/GB/Dutch 'prime time' when it falls on a weekend. All it takes is everyone agreeing to weekend only battles. The Danes did move their early morning PB's from 4am-5am eastern to 7:30am eastern so more could join - but for many, the early morning weekdays is an issue regardless. GB just scheduled a PB in the middle of the USA workday.... duh... I can't see that being good for too many.
  6. PB at Pampatar - 7:30am eastern USA time. Decent turnout. The wind started in the attackers favor. The east most circle being captured quickly with little immediate threat of recapture, the battle moved to the southern circle where the main brawl continued in and around for most of the battle. A few Dutch sailed to the eastern circle and managed to take it, but we managed to kill enough of the Dutch to get to 1000 .
  7. Two more PB's scheduled by GB/USA with just 1 player in total between them. A curious strategy. I think GB/USA are trying to create a logistical nightmare where we just have too many free ships...
  8. For once an even battle - great fight... more coming up in the next 1-2 days... 9 French, 3 Swedes, 13 Danes. against 4 Dutch and 20 GB/USA. We had 3 smaller ships in the battle, so the BR was just about even. Ownership of the circles kept changing as the sides moved ships back and forth between circles. In the end we were able to sink enough of the GB/USA/Dutch to retain the port. 5 Kills for the French, 2 for the Swedes, 9 for the Danes.
  9. Another poor showing from GB/USA/Dutch. 3 showed in the PB - meanwhile they have the players to raise aggression elsewhere against AI... you know guys - PvE server would be a great place for you GB/USA players... The AI there are like the AI you like fighting on this server... Lots more free ships.... thank you for those CKA...
  10. Santo Domingo - GB scheduled the battle at their preferred time and wimped out. 7 GB/USA joined, 15 stayed outside... So what is the excuse this time? Forgot what a 1st rate ship looks like? CKA = Cannot Kill Anyone - that's because you don't fight... Even more free ships - and one of the Danes received an Aggie BP - thanks CKA.... keep the gifts coming
  11. Most times the 20:1 becomes a 2 or 3:1 small battle - so it can be fun for the lone defender. I've survived more than I've been sunk - and I have handed out punishment and even capped ships in a 25:1 battle. In 6:1 battle I went in with a Heavy Rattlesnake, came out on it and had a mortar brig as well.. In a 17:1 battle, went in with a buc, came out sailing a Renommee...
  12. Flipper was fighting - as do I when I'm along fighting 15-20.
  13. And it is another one-sided PB - another sparse turnout from GB. This one at Sant Lago this morning around 7:30am eastern time. Flipper thanks for showing up. The pirates capped a Vic outside the port ahead of the battle...
  14. The small nations have wrestled with the lack of resources for a while - it is much better now - and yes, you have to make do. We scrounged materials, we smuggled live oak out of the USA, mahogany out of Texas and other places. Silver was the big issue - we could not craft any good ships or gold mods without silver - and for the longest time, we had none between the Swedes and ourselves. Contracts were barely bringing silver - and ambushing AI traders was getting more than contracts. Only when the Danes joined our alliance did we get a source of silver. Now we are hoarding silver and the crafting woods. I moved 10,000 live oak 250 at a time out of St Mary's. The delivery system was fully booked for over a week moving it. Then I did a similar thing with Mahogany out of La Navasse. This gets back to a discussion in the clan meeting weeks back about ensuring nations have a source of critical materials - but I don't think there was consensus on this.
  15. Santo Domingo. GB attack against the port. but they never showed... free ships and BP's for all - thank you Cordova...
  16. The most frustrating PB I'm been in for months. The ping was awful. We had one player disconnect, my computer froze just after boarding started - not good. It's frustrating to see 350 of 500 crew are gone before you can do anything.... grrr.. 200-2,000 ping. the game stuttered and spluttered.
  17. France will help as much as we can...
  18. One update to the battle. There were 4 GB players sitting outside the port who did not join. Shame on them - it was have made the battle nearly equal.
  19. The battle was after 7am eastern USA time - so a few more USA players could have made it - I'm in the eastern USA.
  20. Caracas B was taken quickly as the wind was in the attackers favor. Action quickly moved to C. The Dutch retreated to A, but the numbers were too much. A few of the Danes showed up late, so the final numbers for the Danes appear more. The Dutch were not helped by one player leaving before he fired a shot.
  21. Sink is now 29 members. 18-20 active in the past 5 days. This past couple of weeks has seen a couple of experienced captains join us.. The junior players continue to gain rank, but would benefit from a few more experienced players to bring France to a competitive level. We have players scattered across the world - young and old (that's me) - in Europe, Brazil, USA and Canada, New Zealand, China and Australia. We are fast becoming the United Nations of Nations. Contact me in game or on this forum if you are interested in joining us.
  22. 7am eastern during the week works for me as I can get into the PB, finish up and still start work at a decent time. On a weekend I like 7am as I can get the PB done and have the rest of the day for other things. Yes, the Aussie players can usually make the 7am eastern time battles - in fact three of the swedes players are Aussie and made that battle.
  23. The latest of a series of one sided PB's. Savannah la mar
  24. a shortage of GB/USA/Dutch - 7am eastern USA. Port-au-Prince. The silver mines go to the Danes...
