  1. From admin - posted in another thread. USA is huge, GB is large as are Pirates - 25% spread across the small nations...
  2. They are not PvP1 players, but some tenured PvP2 players starting to play again after not playing for 6+ months... We have seen 3-4 coming back in the last few days.
  3. I didn't like port timers, but I prefer them to the current approach. With port timers you knew when to be online - you could reserve a 2 hour window and be prepared to play. Now if I want to attack or defend ports, the times are NOT when I prefer to play. I log in each morning and wince at the PB times.
  4. I don't have any screen shots of the GB/Dutch taking Bovenwinds - I heard that it was 25 vs 2 and GB had several more players outside...
  5. Trinidad - generously gifted by the pirates - but contested by plenty of GB/Dutch screening outside. Several battles outside the port. I was held in battle until 10+ minutes after the PB started - so I had to run the blockade in a fir reno...
  6. The GB/Dutch had no problems filling the Saint John's PB. I managed to cap a couple of GB ahead of the battle. Nearly made up for losing a ship in the PB.
  7. The USA also had more players outside screening... It is nice to see Spain growing. 11 Spanish, 4 French in the PB. The small nations are getting bigger...
  8. I am eastern USA - but I often play early in the morning - from 6am-8am before I have to start work - and when I play in the evening, I often finish by 9pm. In other games like D3, I played on the European D3 server as more players were online and the ping was good into their Euro server (the D3 USA server was west coast - so I got only slightly worse pings going into Europe). The issue for me going into the NA Europe server is poor performance - ping is never better than 125-140 and often 1,000 plus in battles - essentially unplayable.
  9. so... if you have accounts on both PvE and PvP1 or 2, what happens?
  10. Any remaining players with building grants would lose all their buildings - and possibly the right to even have a building if the port is captured and retaken. This seem harsh and likely to cause players to get very frustrated.
  11. I fear the impact of inactive players controlling the majority of the resources, and the nation can't do anything about it. How do you propose to counter the inactive player issue?
  12. Les Cayes this morning. I arrived very late. 1 minutes left on the time to enter.
  13. There were other US/GB outside. I capped an undercrewed GB Bellona. 350 crew on a Bellona doesn't work well.... CKA trained
  14. The final screen. It was a good battle, the GB mortar brigs and an exploding ship caused plenty of the damage to ships.
  15. Really, maybe if you took time to look at player names in battles... you could see how many of each nation there really are playing. Plus, just look at the politics voting grid - GB & USA each have 25+ players who take the time to vote - and that is just those who bother to vote. So they have PLENTY of players.
  16. The only way to get the Dutch/GB/USA to understand they were ruining the server is to throw it back in their face. I think the job is getting accomplished. I tried talking to everyone - it DIDN'T work. You tried to broker a better server - but the USA and other GB clans wouldn't listen. So were we supposed to continue the way it was? No...
  17. At no point has the US/GB/Dutch alliance looked like changing... so the best way to beat an enemy is to use their tactics - gang up. . apparently you have a very short memory. Broken promises to me personally about France -about not taking the last French region, about letting us take those regions back... Don't expect sympathy. I think this is called revenge.... and it is sweet for now. Hopefully the Dutch/USA/GB split up - at which point the Swede/Dane/French (and now Spanish) would likely split up.
  18. When you make verbal attacks on people that you don't like, all you are doing is lowering yourself to what you espouse as bad... It is easy to quit.... it seems to be THE thing for the Dutch / care-bears to do when the going gets tough. Everyone is all gung-ho pushing nations to 1 port, but can't take the heat when the roles are reversed.
  19. And whose fault is that... you chose not to defend, your allies chose not to defend. In fact your allies are worthless. You should have adequate supplies of copper and silver as you and your allies controlled nearly all of it for months. When France was pushed back to one port by the Dutch, you were not exactly sympathetic. Now the roles are reversed. I campaigned to allow each nation to have critical resources - "no said the care-bears..." Between the pirates, the Danes and the Swedes, finally Spain and France actually have some life. The colors on the map are changing - and will likely change some more. So you better hunker down...
  20. Portobelo 8:15am eastern USA Time. They showed, they ran... and a few more outside choosing not to join. The mighty Can't Kill Anyone clan wimping out again... way to go Cordova - I see your clan members are listening to their inspiring leader.... CKA clan member "should we fight today?", Cordova "no it is too early and there are too many enemy, let's run and hid, PvP is too difficult, we need to find some unsuspecting AI to attack". CKA clan member "excellent, as long as it is an unarmed trader, I didn't want to lose this green ship I just bought".
  21. I was hoping officers would become the replacement for mods - and you could develop different officers to be skilled in different things. I detest the constant changing of officer perks, and even swapping mods in and out based on 1st rate versus 4th rate PB's, crafting needs, missions and more. We should have a learning tree/skill choice to choose which direction each officer or ship goes. Boarding, trading, speed, turning, crew morale, broadside speed, mortar usage and more. If the skills are at the player level, then player weaknesses may become too apparent and impossible to overcome once your opponents know what that weakness is - so there needs to be a way of resetting whatever skill is learned - or filling in the holes.
  22. We did receive a fair amount of help from vdD - ships and notes, and some materials too. They helped our junior players a lot.
  23. I don't get sunk very often. I have lost a total of 4 duration on 2 nice aggies, and 1 dur on my old buc in the last 3+ weeks. In that same time I've received at least 10 free redeemable ships which brought 3 nice aggies and a decent l'ocean. I've been able to craft replacement gold mods so I actually have more battle ready ships now than 3 weeks ago. I just crafted a new buc, so I gifted the old one for another French player. I have enough materials ready for another ship once there is a need. I have also purchased numerous ships from La Navasse and La Tortue for my own use and other French players to use. SHips are easy - the gold mods are not so easy - especially when the Dutch/USA/GB and pirates control the majority of Silver and copper production. THe buc I've been using for the past 2-3 weeks has been down to 1-dur all that time - and fitted with all green replaceable mods... so it's not like my ships are all fitted out with the best stuff. I fight with what I have.
