Was mir nicht in den Kopf rein geht ist wieso man nach einem fight sich auf dem Silvertablett für gegnerische Spieler präsentieren soll, die dann (wegen der 75x komprimierten OW verglichen zu battles) einen easy kill haben. Wenn du auf der OpenWorld segelst, gehst du automatisch das Risiko ein, attackiert zu werden. Man muss immer mit dem Worst Case Szenario rechnen. Ich gebe zu, das Spiel braucht mehr Mechaniken, um Noobs das Leben einfacher zu machen. Andere Spiele haben das mit einem 1-2 wöchigen Unverwundbarkeitstimer geregelt. Dies ist in einem Spiel wie Naval Action jedoch nicht möglich, wegen alts. Generell find ich ganking auch öde, mach ich auch nur noch in minimalem Ausmasse. Wir haben auch schon des öfteren vorgeschlagen, dass das Battle für die Verteidigende Seite offen bleibt, bis ein BR limit von ca. 1.3 des BRs des Angreifers entspricht. 5v1s und dergleichen wären somit geklärt. Aber einige meinten dann, dass PvP in einer Open world NICHT gebalanced sein muss. Aber vielleicht seid ihr mich und andere ja bald los..^^ Naval Action Legends soll angeblich diesen Monat noch in die Testing-Phase gehen.. Ich stell mir das Prinzip genial vor. Faires PvP auf Knopfdruck ohne Stunden in der Welt herumzusegeln, und dann verliert man dabei auch nichts Man gewinnt nur, und zwar folgendes: Spielspass.
  2. Desperate privateers will just join a nation with good outpost possibilites so they can even teleport there and store ships there. Baracoa is a 5 minute sail to Mortimer, and is currently under Danish Control. I have never based any of my privateering out of a free port since the wipe, always a national port closeby. TBH I don't really see a reason to choose the pirate faction at the moment. Sure, having the jolly roger is nice and all that... But I never liked the idea of having to sail for hours to a freeport in enemy lands, just to then have to sail back again to get new supplies. The decision of removing the freeports alltogether made it even more unlogical for privateers to join the pirate faction. I just hope NA Legends will be a good replacement for the PvP combat experience, because THAT is what I (and many others) truly love about the game.

    I Think a player tradersbrig tried to do that when I targeted him. He dropped sails, tag went down to 0 but somehow failed. He seemed to have disappeared. But I could tag him again and it worked that time.
  4. Practise versus bots to get prepared for fighting players? Sounds like going to kindergarden and then skip all steps and go straight to college. "I wasn't prepared for this!"

  6. I'm fine with no free ports. In general I don't care what flag I'm flying, as long as I get good access to OW PvP, hence in the DK-NO faction at the moment. If things change, I might change nation again .) Wasn't operating out of free ports too often anyway. But I can see why it could suck for pirate privateers, unable to settle down in a hunting area across the map for a while.
  7. You mean the "5v1" kind of "PvP" player will hate the suggestion of their prey getting the possibility to get help from players, close to a national port, and thus actually getting a fight? Yeah, probably. But then again, 5v1 is not PvP in my book. It's ZvP. Zerg vs Player.
  8. Thus my suggestion of leaving battles close to shore open for Players to join until a certain amount of BR js reached. Did you even read what I wrote?
  9. So basically you want to reduce the silly 5v1 ganks close to a national port, which is fine with me. I dislike fights where one side has 5x the BR and is going to win most likely. So I like the idea. But why do we have to rely on AI? I Think we all know that AI in this game are not the smartest and very easily counterable. Also, only as much reinforcement until BR is matched doesnt seem enough. 5 surprises will still wreck a brig, even if it gets 5 npc surps backup. Solution: Why not let battles where the side being attacked and close to a national port in his nations waters be open to join for actual players, until the total BR reached 1.25 - 1.5 times the BR of the attackers? This should help a lot more, as you are trying to prevent those 5v1 ganks outside another nations port. I donz really like the idea of having to rely on AI to save you . Maybe make it so you have the choice. One or two minutes time to call for AI reinforcement, and if you dont do thaf during the time, the battle will stay open for players to join your side until the BR factor (1.25 - 1.5x the BR of attackers) is reached.
  10. So originally I didn't want to apply as a moderator, but I guess I'll give it a go now anyway, because I am kinda missing the "greenies" activity on the EU server. I know there are a lot on the Global server, but on EU it would be nice to have a few more mods present. (I have just started a new job this month though, so won't be able to play as much as before anymore, but should still be online in the evenings, and ofc in the weekends.) 20 years old Currently 4091 hours on the game - Usually have Help Chat open when I play and try to answer questions Playing on PvP EU, Privateering as a Pirate at the moment Languages: German (fluent, mother tongue), English, and a little bit of French (enough to do basic communication) EU Timezone (Switzerland) Not part of a major RvR clan, not too much interested in RvR either, so generally not siding up with a side In general a helpful player, but not enjoying obvious trolls and trashtalkers - IMO a bigger Moderator presence on the EU server would help to somewhat reduce it.
  11. I like wipes too, as zays said, its the time where everyone is sailing frigates for a while. But announcing a total wipe NOW, months before anything is going to br wiped, is a mistake. Should have learnt that by now. It took what, 4 months the last time a wipe was announced, and player numbers dopped to a peak of 200. IF you are going to wipe, keep it secret. Make an announcement one or two weeks before it happens. But not 3 months...

  13. At some point it becomes a logical anti griefing measurement. A lone surp can still tag a frig with fleetships. But a privateer cant, since it wouldnt stand much of a chance vs 3-4 frigates.
  14. What's next, can only attack warships of same BR or higher? Dont like the idea. Any ship on the OW should remain a target, and shouldnt be able to hide behind a BR wall
  15. I think in this case it's because you stopped both your sides from reloading, only your front chasers require crew, 10 men. As the rest is not used, it goes to the other tasks, and if those are full, eventually to boarding But I have experienced the "Reload Bug" a few times again since the wipe. Full crew on Gunnery, yet only a part of cannons is being reloaded. Really annoying and not sure what's causing it.

  18. We should go back to 'GettingKickedOutStraightToOW' for a week or so. No invisibility timer, no speed boost. Let people realize how broken it is. Oh it would be a joy to go cherry-picking all those juicy PortBattle Fleets. Oh wait. For that to happen, there would actually need to be PortBattles happening. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  19. "You always want to pick what suits you the most" Not even close to true. I TRIED to fight SEVERAL 1v2, 1v3, 2v3, etc (while being the outnumbered ones) in the last few weeks. Some I lost, some I won. That's how it goes, you can't win everything. But the battles were enjoyable! And ships are cheap. I quite frankly do NOT understand why anyone would not want to commit to a balanced battle. But the vast majority of players seems to do so at the moment. Hence I changed my Steam Review. Can't recommend this game to anyone looking for enjoyable "PvP" on a "PvP" server at the moment. "A safe way out" because of the fact that players outside are waiting, profiting from the 75x OW compression.. Do you really don't get this? It's like the most easiest thing ever to set up a somewhat reliable revenge fleet, without the speed boost. Sure, you guys over there might like 10v1 roflstomps. But some guys actually like a challenge Also, "you only care about your playstyle..." - This is an OW MMO. Ganking is a part of ANY OW MMO. Even I personally don't enjoy engaging battles where the opponent doesn't have a slight chance of winning, why would they be unable to do so? As said before, it's your own fault if you get caught.
  20. Because they attacked something, and when there is no reinforcement withing the 3 minutes join timer, THERE IS NOONE IN RANGE. 3 minute OW time is plenty. It lets you cover quite a distance. Players assembling outside are profiting from the 75x compressed OW to set up. Let me quote you: It's your own fault if you get caught. Except newbs maybe. They need to be given a safe starting point.
  21. So then re-introduce rookie zones rather than messing up the whole RoE again? We've gone through revenge fleets lively and the vast majority of players came to the conclusion that they're NOT supposed to even be a thing. In general I say ganking is part of an OW MMO. Admin said himself a while ago, "everytime you set sail, you should be aware of the fact that you're risking your ship" or something similar. However I agree new players need a safe spot to get going. I liked the idea of Rookie Zones. @admin What happened to the idea of giving new starters a safe starting point? At the moment it seems like the Bahamas got #Swerged and are not used for anything anyway, other than easy Conquest points.
  22. To be honest, I dont give a f*ck what you think what sort of person I am If you dont like ganking, dont play a fking OW MMO... Go play Hello Kitty online or Clicker heroes Oh and it's not like alts were not used for spying before.. You could log out and have an alt spying for you before.. Alt issues are never going to be dealt with becaue they're an easy income for the game.
  23. lol You do understand we have to dimensions, 1) 75x compressed OW and 2) instanced battles, hence the 3 minute join timer, which is more than enough time to let nearby ships (10+ enemy players) join. If they are NOT in that range, they can't join. Why would they? "Speed boost is just way too exploitable" you said yourself. So wheres the problem? I want what's best for the game to have a good PvP experience - Being rejected a 1v2, while being the one, to then find yourself to fight an 1v10, because they profited from the OW speed bosot and were NOT in 3 minute vicinity of the original battle, is NOT a good game experience. Maybe for some guys who prefer 10v1 roflstomps only, but for me it isnt.
