Basic information on the tournament - and to be discussed rules The layout for this tournament is 3v3 Each team will have to spread their ships to 500 BR - This means all 3 ships of one team can have a max. combined BR of 500, see the community made BR list below Tournament will have a group stage and a final knockout stage - Groupstage will consist of 4 teams in one group, of which the best 2 will qualify for the knockout phase. In the groupstage, every team will fight every team once. Entry fee of 500k per team - Prize money will be split on rank 1st, 2nd and 3rd place of the endresults (50 - 30 - 20) Once the group stage goes live, the teams will be given a certain amount of time to fulfill their groupstage battles. How long this stage will last wil totally depend on how many teams are entering. Groups for the group stage are going to be created using a RNG site Each battle will have to have at least one referee aka. judge in them Battle length is max. 60 minutes Win in group stage = 3 points A win can be achieved by the follwing ways: Be the first to sink all enemy ships (within the 60 minutes battle length) If after 60 minutes there are still ships alive on both sides, the side with 1.5x the BR is going to take the win Draw in group stage = 1 point A draw can be achieved by the following ways: If after 60 minutes there are still ships alive on both sides, but the difference between the two teams is not equal or greater than a factor of 1.5, the battle will count as a draw Loss in group stage = 0 points If, after all battles in the group stage are done, some teams have the same amount of points, the second deciding factor will be how much BR they lost themselves overall in all battles. (The team with the lower BR lost will logically come first.) If this still doesnt decide the winner, a duel between each groups leader in a ship they both agree on to use will decide. Not appearing to an arranged battle will result in an automatical loss - The enemy team will be granted a victory (3 points) and full BR sunk. If the teams battling each other are from the same nation, they will have to join an outlaw battle in order to fight each other - Sadly this is the only possibility. Tagging rules: In order for the battles to be fair from beginning, I think there needs to be a clear tagging rule - This is how I would imagine it to look like: If the teams are positionned like that on the initial tag, no team will have a wind advantage and it will be fair from beginning. Same goes for when we have to make use of outlaw battles (if the teams are from the same nation or a team has members from different nations) - Both teams have to line up as shown above around an ongoing outalw battle and all join on command. Referees / Judges and their availability: Once the groups are decided by RNG, you will have to set a date and place with each other team in your group. In order for battles to count, there needs to be at least one referee / judge inside the battle. On that thread, already 32 players voted that they would be interested in participating in a playermade tournament - that's over 10 teams already. The tournament is going to be 3vs3, and teams matched vs each other will have to communicate and agree on a date and place where they have their battles. Much more detailed information about how it works you can find below How to apply for the tournament List your Group name, the 3 main captains names (both ingame and forum if they got a forum account), aswell as your nation, and up to 5 reserve players (in case the main captains can't make it to a battle for whatever reason). Would also be nice to get a "battle cry" from each participating group. That means that I will need some pirates willing to help creating outlaw battles, so that ALL battle participants can join at the same time.
  4. I dont really see why this should be an exploit - You could also just pull a @Tac and tag a 25-ships-fleet on your own and make 1'955'000 gold + 227 Combat marks from 1 single battle

Depending on how things go, I might be able to offer 5th to 4th rates around the La Tortue area for those wo don't have any assets on this server - Not 100% sure yet though I'll leave this thread open until tomorrow or Thursday evening, and then open up an application thread, and start working on the final rules with the participants. A hurdle will be, once the group stage is set up, scheduling all battles so it works out for both teams. I was thinking to tendencially give more time for both teams to agree on a battle date.

  7. I see where you are coming from but I really doubt a torunament is going to have any serious impact on OW traffic. Players are already now meeting for organised battles to have SOME fun, because finding random hostile targets right now has become tedious. Good point. Will have to work on that. For now I'll let this thread open for a while to get a general overview whether or not players are interested. If it seems like it's worth setting up all the rules / match times / whatnot, I'll open up an application thread and post the rules, which we could discuss beforehand aswell, there.

For Now, Legends is 1) only up on weekends, 2) has an average player population online of about 3 and 3) there is no Custom Battle lobby planned from what I can tell - And gladly this Naval Action game is a sandbox, allowing players to be free and create content themselves Please, if you are not interested in it, noone is forcing you to take part.
  9. After watching the recent duel between @Peter Goldman and @White Squal I remembered how entertaining it could be to watch others play live. It gave me the idea of setting up a tournament - To my knowledge there has been one proper tournament so far, I know @Christendom wanted to organize something similar for the Global server but not sure if it ever actually happened. I think it might have lacked participation, that's why I am making this poll - I think playermade regular tournaments could be a great content alternative. So here are the questions: Would you generally be interested and willing to participate in a playermade tournament? What size do you think the battles should be? (1v1 / 2v2 / 3v3 / ...) In what general area do you think the battles should be held? (La Tortue / La Navasse / La Mona / Other) At what timeslot do you think the battles should take place, in servertime? (17.00 / 17.30 / 18.00 / 18.30 / 19.00 / 19.30 / 20.00 / 20.30 / 21.00 / 21.30 / 22.00 / 22.30 / 23.00) Do you think there should be a prize money, resulted from participation fees? (No / Yes - 500k Participation fee / Yes - 1M Participation fee / Other) Maybe we can even have some special prize items provided from @admin's side, given the winners of the first Tournament also received (at that time) super rare Blue Prints and Ships. Please provide some feedback on wheter or not you are generally interested in a tournament, and how you would like it to look like.

  12. Sorry aber wenn du nach PvP Schutz (zusätzlich zu einer Schutzzone welche mal eben die gesamte haupt Eco der meisten Nationen covered) auf einem PvP suchst - bist du glaube falsch
  13. well the reason for why we even are able to go that far and vote whether or not there should be a BR limit in PBs is because PBs are now fully controlled by clans - Clans will have to discuss which member is going to sail which ship internally - if a member is not happy with the decisions he will eventually leave the clan and look out for a better one. And clans will probably want to evade this, so they will try to keep it fair - at least thats an optimistic point of view ;p

Eeeh I wouldnt be too sure on that.. sure a lone 1st rate is very vulnerable but when working together and protecting each other they will quickly make firewood out of the frigs i think a good balance between firepower (damagedealing tanks) and manouverability (supportive frigates) will be key

  18. Wasa note is no BluePrint - Instead it gives you a crafted ship - You just have to choose the desired woods.
  19. tbh I dont even know why you treat me like im that much different ^^ in Port battles its much more about general decisions e.g. in what direction the fleet should be directed etc... And its not like im invincible, lose some / win some...
  20. On my ship there were just some basic upgrades ^^ No cartagena nor carpenters.. I indeed joined them for some rvr action because the last time I actively did them was at the Sant Iago campaign by the brits (glorious times) and Ive found the actual PBs to be pretty fun - Although I messed up in todays battle, could have saved Redii but realized too late By the way - I've just come to realize how many things a Fleet Command has to keep an eye on at the same time, so massive respect to those in charge. Maybe with the new nations we'll see a new big, organized counter force to the current swedish organization... I believe the GameLabs twitch account today said on a twitch stream that next week there will be another "letter" (google translate from russian), maybe some more info regarding the new nations. I would definetly be up for joining and building up a new nation that can deliver PBs on a regular base - Also seen some promising discussions on this thread, mixed PB fleet setups might be coming up soon
  21. Obviously you're not supposed to go in full-retard-mode in a surprise without any backup - only logical consequence is you getting demasted. A surprise could group up with a couple of friendly 3rd rates to gang on a few hostile 1st rates - and stick to its stern. You'll have to work together as a TEAM to accomplish anything. Sorry but are you new to this game?

If you ever followed it in more detail you'll notice I was not "crying" about the loss of the ships but more about the fact that such a stupid game mechanics as revenge fleets could exist And now they're fixed with the invis., a recent poll showed most players like it as it is. Compared to some other players I craft / get ships to use them Not to just let them rot in port Anyway this has gone offtopic now. Keep your toxicity for somewhere else please.
  23. lol mate I've lost hundred of ships in my 4200+ hours of playing the game, incl. lineships in the early days - but got tired of them. Not really a challenge anymore to build them now with the reduced costs and gold being so easy to get.
