  1. I would have to assume you will have to get a PvPer to bring you certain goods like the Bermuda Cedar and Live Oak. This should encourage trade between the zones. Though I don't think you will be easily getting certain refits. How did ya'll get pirate refit before hand if you weren't a pirate since ya'll can't capture regions on PvE? You had to get some one else to make the ship for you right? Well now you can get some one to get the refit for you. I plan to prob be doing just that. Running top end goods that folks want for top dollar/gold. You want pirate refit and us pirates are the only ones with it your going to pay. Good way for us to get goods back too. Let ya'll do the grunt work of the crafting for us in trade. Though I do all my crafting any way.
  2. They said the patch won't be before two weeks from notice but within the next 30 days. Well uh it's been almost a week all ready so we should get test server soon...hopefully? Maybe even what we been testing out in a mini patch until than? I think the number of free town are fine, just need to limit ships to frigates and traders in them and that would help. I'll be honest 6 of my 8 ports are in free towns for PvP. Other wise we pirates wouldn't be all over the place. The two are econ ports that I need resources from at the moment or what the flavor of the week ship I'm building. Takeing out more free ports is going to limit us even more on our PvP. Though I still think they should just give us the Capital and rookie capital free and let us have 8 more ports (total of 10). That way no matter what every one has the capital. PvE guys would get the PvE capital instead of the Rookie Capital. So they can always return to main capital no matter what and have a port there.
  3. That is what happens when you have no sink for your resources....as in if no one ever gets sunk you have no reason to be using any of your resources so you just stock pile them. I'll be honest mine at one time looked very much like that and I know a few clan mates that does. Other than small ships I haven't been sunk in any ship that wasn't a captured SOL or some Note trash ship. I never crafted at the capital, it was way to busy for me. Though I do know what freetown I'll be returning back to doing my ship building once more. Lets just say it's no where near Kidds my current ship building port for most ships lol

You know it's sad when the Pirates have actually taking LVG's and parked them in front of the Capitals of both US and Brits in side the green zone and still no one would come out and attack them. Hell we had them full of loot too and announced it in global. I got a sneaky feeling a lot of these guys from PvP2 are going to be in the "SAFE ZONE" You know since they only like to PvP when they out number every one...lol
  5. Ya to be honest the only reason we are in the GoM right now is cause we be greedy Pirates and want all the silver on PvP2 (to make up for months of not having it our selves). I did have a port in there for trade hunting that I rarely used, but once in a while I would catch some sucker trader making a run. That was like my Sunday morning run.... Than the resources are something many of us are wondering about too. I be honest to say that I'm surprised the PvP event wasn't a big circle around Mort lol As much as folks want to restrict pirates I all ways thought the free ports should be reserved for pirates and traders. So yah nothing bigger than a 4th rate. And if they ever give pirates some sort of real mechanics instead of the bastard national thing they would be the only ones that could put Outpost in them....but that would be if Pirates wasn't part of the conquest system and just had something like a raids system where they raid a port but don't keep it after a set amount of days. With all these changes they really need to reset the map and alliances and let us all start fresh again. It will give every one the best chance to pick the nations and make them more populated.
  6. I know this isn't the final zones, but man that looks bigger than I was thinking. So yah they should have plenty of room and this will push more of the PvP player together into one side of the map and those folks that while they still play current PvP servers can go do trade and PvE stuff in the safe area.
  7. Yes and the Devs have said they plan to have a PvE server when the game is released. For all we know this system might work out better and majority loves it. We might find out every one hates it and they scrap it and go back to the PvP only server and PvE only server. Lets all give it a chance and try it out.
  8. I brought up a Privateer/Pirate mechanic that would be a great way to handle Nation changing in the future, but part of it needs to have a reputation system in game to work. Say I'm Spanish and I want to switch to US. I would pretty much like the old pirate system attack a Spanish ship and go outlaw/Pirate. To be able to become US though I would need to get a contract as a privateer for that nation. While still basically a Pirate/Outlaw now I'm working for the US. I can only join there fights and none of there alliances while a privateer and I can not build anything in those regions owned by US but I can use there ports for trade. Once i get enough reputation while fighting with the US I get the option to become full blown US nation and my Privateer status goes away and now I'm a US National players. Make it an in game way to switch nations but not something you can just do over night. Though for now I think when we do the merger we need to just let every one merge into one server and make the change. When the PvP Global server goes live we should be starting with a fresh map too and no alliances so every one has to vote for new ones and get there regions/ports claimed fresh. I think pushing a bunch of us all into one server without doing this will just be asking for more trouble than we all ready have. I know on both PvP1 and PvP2 many folks have talked about changing nations and making the servers more equal. Give us the tools and means to do it.
  9. I thought about doing something like this near the end before server mergers with patch. Though it will be open world race with chance to be tagged. Set up every one with a starting point and the first one to get there ship to the finish point wins. No guns on your ships so they will be all stripped down, but every one else not involved in the race is free to tag and try to sink/capture you. Maybe a prize for any that do. We did stuff like this on POTBS a few times and it was fun.
  10. I have no problem with there being a PvE server if the Devs think they need one for the game testing. They only have a limited amount of resources for running the games and if they don't feel the need to have 3 servers running than it's their call to shut one down. I understand some folks want to not have any PvP in there game play. Devs are providing you with that by making part of the server PvE only. Many games do this. They don't have to do this since they have only promised PvE server after release of the game. So they are going out of there way to help you guys still have a place to play. Remember they are paying for these servers and we are only a small part of what they might have as future sales when the game goes live. If they don't have the resources to run 3 servers cause two of them are very low pop than it makes since for them to shut down one or two of those servers. Servers aren't cheap after all. If they can save money by moving the game from three servers to two than they can spend that money and resources in other places to make the game better. I think that is the big thing a lot of these guys can't get in there head. 60-100 players average is not enough reason to keep servers up while in this stage of the game. I play on PvP2 and I been one of the ones that said we should merge the PvP servers, but my only complaint was that we need to put the server in a more Global location than the current EU/PvP1 server cause if we merged every one into a EU server it will hurt a lot of the SEA/AU/West Coast US players ping wise. I think getting every one onto one server (other than the EU guys that want there own times) is a good thing. No one promised any one they would have all the server with there PvE and there had been hints of doing a Pacific Coast part for the PvE guys all along so this isn't something new. Not to mention that map is honestly to big with the game size at this time and most areas are never fought over. We need to push the PvPers more into the same areas and let the Carebears and PvE guys have there own area. This option just allows us to play together if we want. I can go into the PvE areas and bring goods for some one that PvE to craft for me while supplying stuff that we can only get in the PvP areas of the game. I love to trade along with fight so I see it as one of the Hybrid players that is both a PvPer and PvEr.
  11. Tell me exactly where below they did anything they did not promise you upon start? There wasn't even a PvE server when EA started. It was started shortly afterwards cause of request from veteran Sea Trial players. The only thing they have promised is that upon release you will have a full time PvE server. They don't have to give you one until the game is released cause they are working on other features of the game that are top of there list and right not the PvE only content is not on the top of the list. Specially not for a server that has the lowest number of players logged into it at any time. WHAT THE DEVELOPERS HAVE TO SAY: Why Early Access? “Sea Trials is a long age of sail tradition. I'm was part of the EU Mirror server split and what they did when they merged it back into the PvP1 server was every thing you owned was turned into a redemebale except the items that was given as gift across all servers (to prevent duplication) showed up on PvP1 as redemables that I can redeem and add to my char there. All players ranks and crafting level is tied to your steam account and is shared across all servers. When you go to make a char on the PvP Global or PvP EU server you will be the same Rank and crafting level as you where on PvE server. This is the only thing they have promised we will keep upon release of the game too. They can wipe anything from any server at any time if they wish cause this game is in development and not an final release. They are being nice giving ya'll redeemables. I been on games that shut servers down and you got nothing. ZIP ZERO....nothing and those where final products. Make sure they aren't in any ships since those are being removed from servers but I think you would be fine in any warehouse you have from the PvE merger. I would prob remove anything you have in a clan warehouse though. Don't think those items will be removed and given to any one, but I never owned a clan while a merger was done so can't be sure. Yes gold will be redeemable too. If you want PvE only you stay in the PvE zone. If you want to brave it you just leave that safe area and play any where else. I believe you can still get attacked int eh PvE zone if you have the smuggler flag (think it's going back to old system....where it treats you as pirate but you can enter any port with it). So some one that makes a char in the PvE zone finally wants to come out and try PvP he can come out to the rest of the map. If he hates it he just has to go back to his safe zone. Sounding like they will be using most of the GoM so it won't be a small area (like how small the rookie ROE area is). So really you will have room to sail for hours and still do stuff, just not the whole map. I'm going to take a bet RETURN to capital will still send you back to the nation capital no matter if your a PvE or PvP char. No kidding and funny how these guys are demanding something that was never promised in the first place. Other than the devs said they will have a PvE only server upon release of the game. The game is no where close to release so they don't have to give you anything. If they like they can wipe all servers tomorrow and go back to the sea trials days. It hink they are being very reasonable to leave some content that isn't promised yet for players at a time when they are still in ALPHA testing stage of there Development of a game. I swear most of these players have never Alpha or even Beta Tested a game before. I been on games that wiped every thing almost weekly for testing.
  13. But where any of them in any of the fights of this game so far? I know they came along later but I would think it would be cool if they had some companies/units you get at a fight and if they make it through the fight you get them. Kinda like the one battle you get the "Iron Brigade" level three unit.
  14. We where told it wasn't a fireship that blew...hmmmm lol But yah a few of our guys where demasted and lost a big chunk of there crew. That is why I stated it could of turned the fight if some one used that moment against us. I been pretty much hit or miss on firehsips over the year. Wilmington was the first time any one worked for me other wise I tend to blow up and hurt my own team or just blow up in the middle of nothing.....
  15. That was more a general statement about nationals that lost those ports crying about it. We have joked that what if, "The new patch silver becomes useless lol." Think that is why the guy dumped all his notes without talking to the rest of us thinking they where going to be useless. To be honest we plan to give most those ports to the French before this patch. We just want them to be strong enough to hold it or have the alliances to do so. Right now if we gave them all US/Brits will just come take them off them. Hell you saw how long it took them to take Trindad off us and we said they could take that as soon as we captured it. With the merge though it will be good to see more of the nations balances with some numbers. I just hope they keep the Global to a US location to make it truly global. Hopefully we will see it to Test bed this week....lets all cross our fingers and hope....
  16. If you stock up you wouldn't be hurting. I heard ya'll had like no Mahogany stocked up when we took that port, but ya'll still had alliance ports to use. The thing is we don't even need silver right now cause most of use put up 4-5 level 3 buildings when we got silver and pumped the crap out of it cause we went a long time without silver. Over 3 months...and wihout an alliance. So don't be crying to us when the three largest nations can't get there act together and keep there key ports. Back on topic though. Really doesn't matter as no one knows what will or not be needed until the patch comes out. Though I would say don't just give up the fight as the patch might be out in a week and half or a month form now. There are other ways to get things like silver. I filled the crap out of buy contracts for the French and Swedes when we had the only silver in that area so I wouldn't have to haul the stuff back to my main crafting ports. Speaking of the dumping we been going around to ports picking up things folks are dumping. Hell even mods folks are dumping. We are fighting till the end so not going to be dumping any gold mods.
  17. While I agree with you, but for it to be global and be fair for the EU players that don't want to play on there special server I think East is fine. Hell if I had it my way I would want central US, like I did with my WoT TS lol....they where why is this in Dallas. Well cause I live in Houston and I'm paying for this and it's far since most of ya'll are East or West coast so why not put it in the middle. I'll just be happy they make it in the US or some where in that general area to keep ping down for the majority of the players.
  18. Yah I still need to post Portabella that the Swedes gave us. Those Swedes towers might have demasted one of us in that fight or it might of been aliens or just bored team mates lol....There was a rare sighting of a SC in that fight too.
  19. Vera Cruz Lineship Port Battle - 25 US/Brits vs 24 Pirates We had a few guys show up late for the fight, but it was about controlling B and A and the brawl. Points won for sure over the sinking on this one. Nice none fireship blow up on the US side. If US used that moment they could of turned the fight. Good fight though even though I got in late from some RL stuff, but still made it into the fight. And no guys there is no hacks. We use double ball when at point blank that is how we hurt you or double charge at a distance and some ships like mine in these fights are tanked out to brawl. Got to love that build on the Aggy or the Vict.
  20. The way I'm understanding it is that we will still have those options to make things like Speed/Stiffness/Hull/Rigging just like we do now. The things that change is regional you need the refit resource/note to do a certain refit and I'm betting that will be a slide bar too, but will ask for the refit note for that refit. Yah we need to just wait before folks dump this or that thinking it won't be used. We had some one dump on the market 300 mid grade notes and we don't even know if they will be used or not the same way. So folks don't freak out and just dump stuff. We know we need materials to build ships, we just don't know what we need. I won't break up my ships until before the patch. Prob the night before.
  21. The most simple way to do this is they get the mirror and make the PvP EU server. Than create the PvP Global server. Take every one from PvP1 and PvP2 and have them merge into the PvP Global with their redeemable from both servers. I have chars on both servers and would prefer to Play as Pirate as I play on PvP2 as my main not PvP1. Than the PvE server guys can pick PvP Global or PvP EU server to redeem there stuff onto too. This will allow every one to pick a new nation and let us try to balance the nations better. With this I think the alliances should all be reset along with regions owned. Specially since the PvE content is going to change the gulf area. We need to not be starting with what is going on PvP1 or PvP2 and should get a clean slate.
  22. Every thing on PvE server other than ship, notes for ships, and paints will be redeemed and you can collect them on the PvP EU or PvP Global server. We don't know exactly what is up with the PvP Global merge of PvP1 and PvP2 cause if they merge one into the other we have the same problem your speaking of. I play main as Pirate on PvP2 but my PvP1 has switched around to a dozen nations over the last year. It has little to nothing on it. So would I have to delete it and make it a pirate if I want to stay pirate or will all chars be merged into the PvP Global from the other two and we get to pick new nations on it and make new chars with all our redeemable.
  23. Nuevitas 4th Rate Port Battle: 17 Pirates vs 20 US/Brits I think both sides started down about 2-3 guys from total numbers when the fight started. Pirates pushed through A and captured B. We than push into C to meet the US/Brits and begin to brawl. The brawl ended up covering from A-C with the circles exchanging hands but in the end the sinking and control of the circles as they reached 1000 Points we where able to defend the port. GF over all.
  24. Copper is used for copper plating and speed trim and you can still do the trims when you build a ship. So I'm going to say you will prob need this still. We don't know what they want for the ships. They might still want 4 notes when you build each ship for all we know. We are just making guesses at this point. I'm going to assume we need every thing until I see the test server or the Devs say other wise.
  25. I believe they are speaking of Ship Notes that you get from the ship chest not the Low/Mid/High for ships. We don't know what they will take to craft until the test server is updated. But some one has brought up devs said the construction of the old (current) ships was with the fact they counted in the Dura of the ship for the materials to craft them. They also don't want to wipe our resources cause they want us to have stuff to craft the ships on the new crafting system. I'm sure we will get a wipe later before release (like for beta stage) to try to test every thing on a clean slate, but right now that is not what the Devs want us to test and work on. With the Merg of servers talked about I think they will have some folks stuff moved or turned into redeemable. I'm hoping they make PvP global and make both PvP1 and PvP2 merge into it. That way we can have our stuff from both servers and than pick new chars and nations if we wish. With the PvE zones added alliances and regions should be reset too at this time. To do all this without any resources would be to hard on the players and what they are currently wanting us to test. Just look at the back lash they got from the land grant system. I loved the concept, but seems many didn't. Than again I'm very heavy into PvP and RvR on my server. Folks unless the info comes from INK, ADMIN or any other Devs don't believe it as true. To many folks keep saying that they think will or will not happen and most of the info is just that speculations.
