    Patch day?

Well i think this is one of the most anticipated patches of this year if they delay it too much, i think it will not be good for the game or company. but they say pessimistic lets hope we get it this week. hopefully thursday and maybe also the first fully Dutch ship ingame, as far i know we have two more or less Dutch ships but redesigned by the Swedish
  2. 5. Well, hethwill that is an excelent idea. But the system u propose is nice as an idea but it would ruïne the game as pb. But maybe it can be better used as a raiding tool?
  6. all the way in the end he didn't sound happy is maybe a better frase
  7. may i say that the agga BR is the same as an inger and connie. We did not kite for the whole port battle only when you came charging us. u wasted like 25 minutes on waiting with battling and after that we were engaging the swedish all the time but we focused down a lot more. if we had 5 or 10 more minutes we would have destroyed at least half of the swedish fleet for maybe 5 ships lost at worst. i want also to reccommand the vid of Rediii which shows u the view of the swedish side in which even your PB commander was pretty pissed off and also don't complain on who is exploiting the game u attack an friendly 'Enemy' right infront of the port not us and then soon went into the PB so... i want to also add that the swedish were more stern raking than hull hitting
  8. Nice battle with the swedish sunk 8 and lost 2 ships nice battle
  9. Besides fishing, they could be used a trader. Most of the ships are known to be multipurpose, atleast the ones i am going to cover. The only ship that is a direct descendent of a trader is de Groenlandsvaarder, they were a variantion on the Fluyt
  10. Well, I want to start this topic because everybody is talking about fishing, fishing nets and modules and I want to take it a step further to do a topic about fishing ships. These ships will mainly involve sea- and ocean-worthy ships and not inland sea (like the Zuiderzee) or coastal vessels. The ships I am going to cover are Dutch and all are in timeline. I will start with the most notorious topic and that are whaling ships. The Groenlandsvaarder-class The Dutch used one ship for this and this was called the Groenlandsvaarder or the Greenlandsailor, roughly translated. It was a converted Fluyt with some very interesting features like the ships lacking a galleon but instead had at least one row of extra planking on the bow, if they would hit ice the hull would not be easily penetrated, and had beams on the side for the whaling boats called galgen or gallows. They were later replaced with the larger 18th century Fluyt also known as bootschepen. These ships had a cargo capacity of 900 tons and the ships were used from the 1500’s till the beginning of the 19th century. On the out break of the 4th Dutch-Anglo war (1780-1784) the Dutch whaling fleet consisted of 260 ships with 14.000 sailors The 17th century ships themselves were somewhere between 78 and 140 Amsterdam Feet (22.08-39.63m), a width of 19 to 34 feet(5.37-9.62m) and a hold of 10.5 to 14.5 feet(2.97-4.10m). The 18th century Groenlandsvaarder had an estimated crew of 53/54. There are no ship-plans known of this shiptype, only descriptions An 18th century Groenlandsvaarder (note the gallows on the side and the round stern) A 17th century Groenlandsvaarder (note the high stern, the boat on the side and absence of the galleon) And now the fishingships Buis(buys)-class The buis is in Dutch history are one of the most important fishing ships, from 1416 till 1870 during its 454 year lifespan it had undergone one significant change in 18th/19th century in which they changed the design from a 3-mast design to a 2 mast design. The ships were known to sail till the 59° Northern Latitude and further and not lower than the 56° Northern Latitude during fishing season. The buis were armed in 18th century with gotelingen, steen-stucken(debris-shooter), kamers, muskets and roers (muskets and a different type of musket) and korte and lange spiezen(short and long spears) to defend themselfs from privateers and raiders, but unfortunately of the cannons/swivelguns is not specified what kind of guns they are and what caliber because some ships have gun port on the side and some don’t. I suspect in this case it can vary by the weight of the cargohold what type and caliber were onboard. For the small ships I guess it will be most probably at maximum 2 pound guns with a weight of around 800 pound, but earlier .5/1 pound, and for the big ships the steen-stucken would probably be in gunports. The ships were also on a less common scale used as merchant vessels. The smallest ship size is 14,72m*3,83m*2,26m and the biggest ship is a herringbuys. 22,08m*4,68m*2,47m.The first recorded is in 1416 and the last one build in 1841, in shipyard ‘s Lands Welvaren in Vlaardingen and were taken out of service in 1870. At certain points in time the Dutch government made a record of how many ships there were and the earliest one in the book is noted in 1601 which says that the buys fleet consisted of 1500 ships, in 1609 there were 3000 ships with 50.000 sailors, in 1644 only 1054 buizen were in service and the last count was in 1832 and only 120 buizen were still in service at that time. The normal crew of the ship was 14/15 crewmembers. The ships were between 14.7 and 22.1 meters long with a width between 3,80 and 4,10 meters and a hold depth between 1,80 and 2,50 meters. The maximum cargoload of the ship is 100 tons. An 18th Century buis fishing the construction drawing of a herringbuis roughly around 1700
  11. that is not what i mean i want to know how many topics there are in a sub forum and not posts that is, and the maker of the topic or the last one posted which currently is
  12. I find the new forum meh, the thing i really want back is how many topics are on the forum/subforum and maker of it and i think it is just getting used to the new forum apart from that it is refreshing
  13. u dirty Rammer that is why i die to ramming all the time and i see the name olavdeng . but i think that a title can be funny, honourable or dishonourable but also has some achievement going it can nice to see that people has it and like olav said it is one of the smaller think that can be nice to have.
  14. I would love to sail the ship guns are adequet for the job and yet can still holds it own. She would be a very good gap filler because the frigates are sometimes meh and the lineships too slow (both can do escort perfectly fine, but it is the feeling) A better question will be when are ships coming for the side which by some people called them Germans but are not
  15. I believe, bit correct me if i am wrong, for the 4-days battle. Dutch v English. Were both had to disengage because of the lack of gunpowder, i thought there of the battle a report about how many guns needed to be replaced but i don't know for sure
  16. I got 2 atleast and gave 4 away and 2 sold to npc(fir) they are nice and sturdy ships on par with a connie
  17. Well i agree completely in this and also the same for iron fittinga back to ingot maybe with a little percent that you lose during resmelting
  18. For pirates i would say : call Raise the Black answer aye captn(with an little evil laugh) maybe for Dutch/general ships ships Raise the Bloodflag (hijs de bloedvlag) if you want to stop Raise the Sails and drop the anchors
  19. i can't log in if i have selected the server i get this error all the time http://prnt.sc/cqzvsd
  20. The system you are proposing has a lot of similairitys with the game railnation. The problems i see with this setup will be that till 1625 more or less most the warships were converted merchants and i believe that some nations did not had any broadside warships. But correct me if i am wrong. And the map would be horrible inbalanced because first the US did not even exist, the english were becoming active around ,naval wise, 1620 and a few other arguments. Nice idea but won't work with this game
  21. what i am curious about what are the three lower guns doing so out of place
