  1. I found it once as well! I was really suprised since i didn't think there were any islands out there and so i got all excited about finding this "unknown" island. ^^
  2. It's not added since it's one of the few things for people to "discover/explore" since it's not on any real maps. ^^ - Atleast i think that's why! ^^
  3. The old wooden ships had significant leakage problems due to the limitations of caulking materials used, the water also naturally "leaked in". The water would keep the boards a bit swollen which would actually help keep the boards sealed as much as possible. The water in the bilge was monitored each watch and when it became too deep they'd pump it out. (Please correct me if i'm wrong). - I have no links, i read it quite some time ago. I'd love to learn more about the subject as well so any links would be greatly appreciated. ^^ Whether they were able to seal the gunports properly i have no idea. But based on the above my best guess is that they probably did their best to keep it sealed but even then, water would still leak through the gunports. (Just a guess.)
  4. Also, since the Constitution is now very close to being just as fast as the Trincomalee there is really no point in choosing the Trincomalee over the Constitution. (Because of Trincomalee's speed "nerf" in a previous patch).
  5. I'm a graphics whore. So yes, i'm all for more realistic visual damage. That said, the current "mark" that a hit from a cannonball leaves looks quite alright to me; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXVQAnPjshw
  6. The simple fact is that the name "Ampaholic" wasn't a name in the age of sail, so it is just as inappropriate for the game as their use of the Confederate flag. The simple fact is that neither "The Decatur Armada, Tattered Flags nor Sealords Royal Navy" existed in the age of sail, so it is just as inappropriate for the game as their use of the Confederate flag. NB: To SeaWolf and his comrades, i wish you the best of luck with your fleet!
  7. In case people are wondering how i'll pay them here is the process: Eg. I'm buying an Exceptional Hammocks module from you. In this case we agree on 150k gold. So for me to pay you the 150k you will have to buy a ship (lynx) and sell it to me for the price which we have agreed upon. When that is done you will sell the module to the port so that i can buy the module from the port. Cheers.
  8. Is there anyone out there willing to sell me an Exceptional Extra Hammocks or/and an Exceptional Swordfighting Handbooks? - I pay well. Please send me a PM if interested, cheers. Tommy Shelby. Edit; Also looking for Exceptional Marines + Exceptional Boarding Parties + Exceptional Barricades.
  9. I've had about 12 crash's today. Lost 4 dura's due to it. F11'ed most of them.
  10. In sweden they call it a "Galeas". More specifically Adella is a two-masted "Galeas". Not sure what the translation is.
  11. We had one big battle and another smaller one. US (TDA) vs "The Coalition". (Not sure what to call the gathering of countries so it'll be "The Coalition" till someone else comes up with something better/official ^^) I believe we had two or three players recording in both battles. - Looking forward to next time!
  12. I read through the game files last night and with the new boarding system it looks like morale is going to be implemented. - It's listed as one of many parameters taken into a count during boarding.
  13. Lib can you throw in a transcript of the Chatlog from that battle as well? - (Tutorial on "how to get your chatlog") http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/3968-how-to-find-your-chatlog/ Also, in the future, report players with bad behaviour with the ingame report system. The tribunal itself seems reasonable enough. Bad language isn't accepted, not even if provoked. Cheers.
  14. Very true, you have brought up some stuff that i didn't think off and i'm 100% with you on this one. We don't want the actual ring back. Instead, we want a distance requirement of some kind. - I'm against the "ring" so to speak. - I'm all for a distance requirement of some kind.
  15. Very true. And while i'd hate to see the old "combat ring" come back i feel like the solution Dazed is proposing might be the best solution there is. - Ships that are close enough for you to shoot at shouldn't be able to magically pop out of battle just because noone have shot at them for a while. Therefore combining the current system with a modified "combat ring" seems reasonable to me. At the very least i'd like to test Dazed's proposed system;
  16. +1. Sounds good to me. Would keep me from missing any messages!
  17. I'd much prefer that our modules have durabilities as well. So if you sink in a ship with 5 dura's on, your ship will loose a Dura and so will your modules. If sinking once meant, no matter what, that i'd loose my "exceptional" module. Then i personally would never equip that exceptional module and if i did i would make sure to NEVER engage in a fight with a risk of loosing. - Ergo, it would make me afraid of slightly uneven battles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Quote Prater; There will be two different subtypes of modules. Ship modification modules and crew modification modules. Ship modification modules cannot be removed from the ship without the module being destroyed. This will stop me from swapping the copper plating on my lynx and moving it to my Coni. Crew modification modules should be able to be added or removed freely because they aren't changes done to the ship but are different crew management options. However, if your ship sinks, you should lose all crew modification modules, while the ship modification modules are not lost unless you have 0 durability. If you surrender, you get to keep your crew modification modules even if you have 0 durabilities. If you surrender and have any durabilities left, you get to keep your ship modification modules as well, otherwise they are lost when you lose the ship at 0 durabilities. - I do like the sounds of the above. Would atleast be interesting to try out such a system in my opinion. --------------------------------------------- 2nd Quote Prater; Ships will come either with or without installed modules. (.....) The player can then install modules to the ship if there are any module slots left. - This would make sense to me, especially when crafting is implemented. ----------------------------------------- Whether the limit of modules should be 1, 5 or 8, i'm not sure.
  18. It's just telling you, you can ignore the message if you want to sail without cannons.
  19. I agree. I think the best solution would be to Increase the combined amount to 2. - Atleast for the SoL.
