Do you want XP/Gold for damage done brought back?

Recommended Posts

I was disappointed that with the latest patch they did not bring back    gold/Xp rewards for damage done in battle?

would anyone else like to see this brought back, it's like they want to punish players who fight together.

Any Captain who survives an action and has contributed to the sinking of an enemy ship should receive compensation proportionate to the damage done, he has spent time and effort in helping to destroy an enemy ship, his/her efforts are no less valuable than those Captains who were either in a better position or luckier to be in a position to do more severe damage.

Exactly

If me and 3 friends  are in a fight, it becomes more a competition between allies than teamwork because only 1 player gets rewarded for the kill.

Game should calculate number of cannons (including class/weight) in battle + ship class + caused dmg on both sides and give rewards accordingly.. If a fight has an equal amount of cannons, the winner gets a decent reward as long as enough dmg on both sides was caused. If not, the reward will be nerfed like when only one side causes dmg. If you win against a greater number of cannons the reward will be even better as long as an obvious amount of dmg on both sides was caused.

  • You kill merchants or warships without cannons for cargo and not for XP/gold reward. Very low XP/gold rewards. No cargo = bummer.
  • If you cap a ship, XP/gold reward is drastically nerfed compared to combat where you sink the enemy. Reward here is primarily ship + cargo.
  • Surrender option from now on only possible until the 'allowed to jump out' clock activates for the first time.

This will make players seek fair fights and known exploits economically unreasonable.

Devs will come up with a list of 'normal' battle results. Any 'unusual' battle results according to the established parameters of the described reward system will be automatically send to game-labs for further obeservation.

Well as I understand it, gaining gold from the conflict was always just a placeholder to get people started with some resources and not intended to last, but XP would continue to get awarded.  However, I agree with the flavor of the statements above, that if you contribute to a battle and you've created expenditures and maybe even taken big losses, you should be compensated for your level of effort.  Why should you get nothing if you are a member of a team providing a concerted effort?

It was removed due to alt farming. Untill devs find a solution it is problematic to bring it back.

Kind of irrelevant since we all agree there's basically nothing reasonable they can do about alts, many players see it as pretty fair play anyway, and in some circles the theory is that the devs want alts to continue since there is more income for them to make off them.  With alts here to stay, you have to work around it, not discontinue features because of it.

Do you mean the only player who should get the reward is the one who sinks it, not others who helped sink it?

Assists are rewarded as well according to the amount of help they gave.

If there's no assist registered the amount of damage was simply of no consequence.
