  1. Agree. Might be easier to manage. Let's say each class could have it's own + and -.
  2. Devs need to better explain reinforcement zone range. If you are within a range then it will appear in battle because it can. Maybe you don't visually see it, but it's there because time is compressed in game. Yes, players will abuse it and stay within reinforcements range to be on the safe side.
  3. Yeah, could be interesting. When breaking down player build ships only there could be a small chance you can get a 'refit note'. 'Refit note' - adds 1 life to your current ship. If you start capturing NPCs and breaking them into parts you will have tons of 'refit notes' and unlimited lives on your ship. So, I can only agree with player build ships that can be reduced into parts with a small chance to get a note.
  4. It looks like when I use 4x antialiasing my fps drop from 70 to 28-30fps. It looks like all those trees on the os are being effected and that is why we loose so much performance. I would suggest to use antialiasing just for ship details. I use R9 390x 8gb and I get 130fps on Ultra in BF4 with antialiasing maxed out. Why do we get so crappy fps in Naval Action? I mean right now I see no point to even use AA in this game, it will kill your fps even if you have high end video card. I am disappointed and really hope devs will fix this. Can this game run FXAA? that could be better option. FXAA stands for Fast Approximate Anti-Aliasing, and it's an even more clever hack than MSAA, because it ignores polygons and line edges, and simply analyses the pixels on the screen. It is a pixel shader program documented in this PDF that runs every frame in a scant millisecond or two.
  5. Picked up R9 390x 8GB video card today for $380. Old card was R9 280x. 45-55 fps on ultra (no AA). Anyone need R9 280x 3GB card PM me. $160 PC Specs: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 6-Core 4.0GHz 16 GB Ram DDR3 1800 ASUS R9 390x 8GB

    End of the world

lol, nice one. World supposed to end in 2000, but offer has expired.
  7. Just had an idea and decided to share it OS Weather report system is a visual tool that could give players better control over long OS journeys and train them to chart the best and fastest routes to final destinations. Think of Icon indication system similar to shoals. Shoals indicator will let you know if you are near shallow area, so you change your direction and go around it. Same idea with weather system. Wind/weather Icons can show players what weather it is right now and suggest next possible weather and wind change at given direction. So, if I am sailing west I will see my weather icon is 'cloudy' wind behind my back and possibility of wind shift is 15 degrees to the right in next 5 mi. or 5 mins and if I turn (change direction) and sail south I will get a different prediction for next 5mi or 5 mins. Benefits: This system can let players plan their routes ahead and let them chart fastest sail before wind change. Example: If system suggests bad wind in next 5 mi. Player could take another angle with better prediction, sail and then change direction again for better wind and weather and so on. Also, I would like to suggest day and night meter. Clean visual tool to let players know when day/night will be over. Please discuss.
  8. Divide map into regions. Award player with xp for every region explored.
  9. I agree. Quantity needs to be increased slightly on the OS. NPC ships usually can be found around ports.
  10. I had this suggestion on potbs forums long time ago and would like to see it being picked up by devs in this game. Each nation should have their flagship.
  11. We definitely need treasure fleets. They should be well protected and hard to find.

  13. There is a topic about this already somewhere.

  15. 15 fps? you guys need to feel what 100 fps feels like. I would kill myself with 15fps.

  18. Player vs NPC Guide Here is a guide for those who think that Yacht is a weak ship. Yacht is a very deadly and maneuverable ship. If it is used right you will destroy and capture any ship up to Mercury size. I am a Potbs veteran and spent years in pvp. So, I decided to try same strategy in Naval Action and it works. Here is what I do: 1. Full speed at the enemy ship. Load Sail shot. Get close and take one enemy broadside with your ship bow. *Remember count reload time and right before NPC fires show bow! No matter how many cannons ship has only few shots will hit and the rest will miss due to much smaller target and ship movement. (Measure length of ship in side view and measure length of a ship placed with bow towards you, that's 1/4 or less). 2. Work sails and get them down to 50-55%, then switch to ball and destroy rudder. *Remember to always stay on enemy ships stern! 3. Once rudder is broken and sails at 50% switch to grape and rake that stern hard! You will see crew dies in packs 20-30 per broadside. Use 'Space' to carefully place each shot inside captains cabin in 'straight line'. 4. You will be sailing in circles following enemy ship stern while it is trying to flip through the wind. 5. Once crew is at 10 or less of what you have ex. (your crew - 50 then make enemy crew - 40). Prepare boarding and wait until it's at 100. Wait until enemy ship is trying to flip through the wind and at it's lowest speed. Get close from the stern side and slow down, then press G to board. 6. When in boarding unload full broadside and attack. Fire muskets and you will have a new ship in less than a minute. I use fine reload mod, turn and boarding mods. I also use 12lb cannonades, with reload mod they reload almost the same as stock. PS - always keep ship speed at 50 or less and when you see enemy guns are about to aim at you use full speed to escape behind enemy ship. This will take some time to master. Just imagine a 90 degree arc that is pointing from ships side. All you have to do is stay away from that arc. No repairs used. Enjoy and practice with small targets first! Happy hunting
  19. Don't forget that merchants had some nice ships. Do not leave merchants out of battle. They can support other ships or supply forts. Could be good in port battle. Port Battle Roles: Merchant - Healer/Medium damage Naval Officer - Tank/ Heavy Damage Privateer - Agile/ Medium damage This could be merchant top rank ship - Galleon
  20. Nations who lack crafters should be limited to a default selection of ships. This will create well fitted zerg for nation with most crafters who will beat the s*** out of other nations with less population and this will result in player loss.
  21. Agree. I would take an example from potbs and just customized it a little for each class.
  22. I would like to suggest this ship/role system: Suggestion: Create same ship progression table for all Classes. Rank1-->Rank2-->Rank3...etc (Each rank will unlock a different ship for each class as player progress. Ships should have something unique for each class). Now, to get those ships each Class needs to do achievements! BF4 type. Naval Officer - Kill 1 player and capture 5 Npc will reward player in a 1 free new ship or a writ. If ship looses all durabilities, player will need to accumulate battle xp(points) or buy from traders (shops). Once achievement for that ship is complete it will remain unlocked permanently. The more player uses the ship the more upgrades and unlocks he can get and make it better (superior/legendary). Players could have access to ships anytime, but in different manner. Naval Officer will need to earn battle xp while trader can build one. Privateers should have battle xp(points) as well, but not admiralty. This way with each rank players can get ships after they complete an achievement. If ship is lost, fight and earn xp to get another one, buy one, build one or go to premium game shop for instant battle xp packs. Xp packs could provide all battle xp(points) needed, but player still will need to pay actual ship cost. Let's call it a shortcut. Privateers should have battle xp(points) and achievements as well for some ships. They should be able to capture and authorize ships as their own or bring them to admiralty for a reward.
