Think depending on the design, weight, armour, quality, type and damage the ship is and has obtained should mean that even at 10% structure or less it should be inoperable or abandonded by the crew. At least something to stop miss so and so, as a merchant ship who can tank moar rounds than biscuits and still survive lol.
  3. You could have these options. Option 1: No Avation of any kind. Option 2: Limited Land based avaiation (so spy planes, scouts, interceptors and light bombers maybe). Option 3: 1/2 Land based avaiation (the above choices of planes with, medium bombers, light torp bombers, attackers and smoke laying planes). Option 4: Full Land based avaiation (same as above but with every type of plane reasonable, heavy bombers, heavy fighters, dive bombers etc.) Same can be applied to CV's too! 'w' fun for all!
  4. I think we should have a pinned thread for this along with naming conventions for every nation to be featured. The devs should diviate if they litteraly struggle to find names but can ask the community for suggestions. Atm however getting the game mechanics done is more important otherwise i doubt many would care if the game is lackluster (it isn't even at this stage but i hope you understand what i mean by this). Either way this will still be good thing. But if the devs do run out of names for whatever nation lets give them some suggestions rather than go mental (especially if they listen well we should have no probs with that).
  5. Having multiple firing options is nice, which you could set for each turret or just a bunch of turret so group A fires a full volley, Group B fires stagger shots and Group C holds fire untill a certain accuracy % or something.
  6. Dunno, wind, weather and time of day are taken into accout already since the first alpha. So this would probably be a very likely thing in the future since they already have the basics of a weather system in place. They can expand that into a day/night cycle (the screenshots doe) and other bonuses or negatives they can add by adding in new types of weather and even factoring temps like you said. Would defo be on board with randomly generated couuntries/nations. I would suggest that be for the Non-historical campaign side for those who want a completely historical version of the campaign (or as close as possible regarding ships). Random map gen is easy unless this will be 3d top down with actual models and real time effects then this will be considerably more work to do and generate for both dev and pc. Soo much potential doe, i wish the devs all the best inregards.
  7. Im fine with the somewhat high accuracy as this would make the game unbearably boring and immensly frustrating just trying to basic things. Also most of the fun is watching the fat metal things blow each other up. For the sake of game balance i guess modern accuracy could be tuned down but not too much and maybe close range to knife range accuracy could be increased considerably (i mean i doubt you can miss a ship 0.3km away from you unless your a stormtrooper or just aiming at something else entirely).
  8. Could have an option to turn them off or limited so like this. Option 1: No CV's. Option 2: Limited CV's (so 1918-1926 cv's). Option 3: Full CV's (1918-194X Whenever the lastest date is for this game). Since this game will cover into the 1930's at least and the 1940's at most i guess we will expect carriers in one way or another, i have feeling it will probs be a major update or optional DLC. Eitherway this gives both parties the options to include CV's in campaigns, custom battles, Admirals college, naval academy. Etc. Without comprimising player expectations and fun i guess. EDIT: Last few words added in.

That was probs mostly to do with bad tank design in general and the fact that many nations were basically still experimenting with tank design (and plane design) due to both being quite new at the time still. I doubt most tanks at the time had questionable comfort too be honest compared to now. Plus war too. Oh well, such is things i guess.
  10. @FinnishJager Basically this, Wouldn't having ships who performed well during battles and wars to be sort immortalised as well kinda like that playthroughs own little trivia or something. Minor but eh. Was thinking of a fear factor kinda thing or awe factor but that would probs just be too much stuff to put into. Hope we get design the non warship, ships lol. Various different hulls, engines, funnels etc. Maybe merchant ship creation as well? Unless its sorely military which i dont mind.
  11. However it does greatly reduce the cost and also complexity of the vehicle, plus you don't need to make the tank as thickly armoured as others too. Plus tanks were quite big even with slopped armour so space is a non-issue, except for really smoll tonks or tanks that are quite close to the ground. But having the armour boxy can make things roomy i guess, but makes the armour weaker (corners, flat surfaces) and heavier just to get the same material for the same protection. Its why the T-34 and argueably the panther were such great tanks (if they also had more time develop them that would of helped).

  13. Ye, even for non-historical this would be fine and since this game is clearly going for a more realistic route it makes more sense for the devs to try and be historical as possible even with split modes.

Yeah more designs for turrets, even non-historical ones as well (soo maybe contest where peeps can make turrets of various calibers and the best looking ones and even practical ones get chosen and implemented?). Even if they change nothing about the stats as well or maybe target signiture idk.

  17. I wouldn't mind too be honest. Also alpha tester on our forum accounts too (maybe alpha 1 for the first alpha of the game and so on when the account actually played the game).
  18. Omg this, the amount of times i had a close fight thinking i've won when some bloody light cruiser has entered mars's orbit because i didn't finish the remaining 12% structure is insane. Hense why these scenarios should have a secondary objectives where if the enemy retreats and ship is of low value and/or damaged or just runs away then you should win (obviously for campaign and other missions this doesn't need to apply but you get my point).
  19. Well it is a singleplayer game so the devs can even put in turrets with cats on them lol. Hense where the whole historical and non-historical modes would come into play.
  20. Damm armour making is far more complex than i thought it would be lol. I would probs end up building the ship back to front and upside when looking at dem plans. sod knows how peeps did it back then.
  21. Too be honest the game won't be that popular anyways so the number of responses is decent, i would be surprised if more than 10k peeps were playing this at any given time nevermind 5k players. Depends on what they want to add and/or take away from the game. We will see what will happen anyways, humans aren't exactly known for being consistent (except for certain areas of expertise lol) nor keeping their word in full.
  22. Cheaper and faster to produce plus more reliable for japan as like its own form of tech bonus. Each nation could of range of unique bonuses and starting techs as well historical or non-historical (maybe non-historical will have no bonuses and you acquire them as the game goes on).
  23. Ye, didnt realise that at the time however. oh well, still quad and quintuple turrets would be noice to have anyways.
  24. Damm, it looked so real lol. Thats a shame would of been an interesting ship judging from the blurb down below. Although they should of added a few combat scenarios to make her that much more interesting even if she was fake. what a bloody shame lol.
