  1. In case there was any confusion on the prior test. Server time of engagement 03/18/2020 05:12 Upon entering the battle: After group member joined after using the join circle: Is there any additional information needed in order to investigate this issue?
  2. It has been an ongoing issue for quite some time. This is the second time I have reported it but the prior one was rejected for lack of screenshots.
  3. Do you see the ship with the sails down? I misstated it is a pavel not a rattisvan. He was well within the circle.
  4. So I ran a test to see if a group member would be pulled into battle with me. The tag was initiated with the group member in the circle. Upon entering the battle the group member was not present and had to circle around to the join circle in order to enter. The Rattisvan with the sails down is the group member.
  5. The loki rune basically has always been a griefing tool. When the complaints centered around players who just wanted to go after ai ships to grind for experience it was perfectly fine. It was ok that these players were suddenly thrust into a pvp match that was not their choosing. So now that the other side of the coin is occurring there is a problem? Now that the loki rune is being used to deny a player of a kill instead of being used to kill it is a problem? The hypocritical views of the community never ceases to surprise me. The loki rune should have been removed a long time ago, at least now it seems the community had become aware of the many ways it is used to harass players instead of improve the game.

    Is it allowed?

But still may not be done due to the reasons given before that the clan in responsible for managing their members and should not promote someone to officer until they can be trusted.
  7. The reason I disagree is that a person who is new to the game has a lot to learn on operating a ship before diving into being actively fired upon by another player. It is rather difficult learning the basics of the ship when you have only about 5 min before being sunk. At least starting out on the pve server a player can learn the basics in battles of his choosing instead of being a target from the very beginning. This is evident from the population growth upon release to just a couple of months afterward. A new player will get discouraged rather quickly if their first impression of a game is that they will not survive long enough to build up something that has even a minuscule chance of surviving. The OP's question regarding accounts was already addressed. I wanted to clarify which server to join first to learn the game and still maintain a good chance that he would not get overwhelmed from the very beginning. The pvp server has not shown any real desire to aid in player retention except those that chose to join a clan (lotto on that one). Not all players will want to commit to a group they do not know on day one.
  8. It is a well known fact that the homefleets only protect against large ships. It is also known that the homefleets do not operate as intended with some patrolling areas far distant from their capital while other ones do not engage at all. I stand by my previous recommendation of starting out on the pve server to learn the basics of sailing and gunnery. Attempting to learn that while on the pvp server would be a big mistake given the current situation of the server in general.
  9. While this is true to a minor point, you can not really get far in the pvp server if you can barely get out of the harbor. The one thing that is not mentioned is that many nations currently are under constant siege and new players are prime targets for veterans seeking to complete pvp missions. Playing on the PVE server will get you familiar with how the ships respond and it will allow your group to learn to operate as a unit. Starting off on the PVP server would be a mistake without knowing how to play the game. The only thing that the pvp server has that the pve does not is the ability to attack other players. Currently the pvp server is very toxic with some of the attitudes as can be expected from most pvp games where players have been able to build up and then use those elite items to hunt down new players who not only lack gear but knowledge of how to play the game. Start on the pve server, get used to gaining ranks, try out multiple types of ships and weapon loadouts. Practice sailing with and against the wind. Get used to angling your ship to reduce damage from enemy ships. Try boarding at least a few times and maneuvering a ship into a boarding position. When you have gotten used to the ships and the mechanics, then consider playing on the pvp server. There is one massive difference to keep in mind, on the pve server you can enter any port regardless of nation and setup an outpost. This is not permitted on the pvp server. So when you want to join the pvp server, create a character and look at the map and see who controls what. Certain nations are not really worth joining at the current time due to low populations and lack of resources. There currently are 3 nations that pretty much have the run of the place and are more than willing to beat the other nations down at will. Until things change, I would avoid joining Britain, Poland, France, or Spain just to name a few.
  10. The only way a ransom idea would work is if there was not a pvp mission for kills that included the rank of the traders. Reclassify traders as rank 8 and thus make pvp kill missions only verses warships and this idea might have a chance of gaining some traction. Until that time, the only value a trader has to a hunter is another step towards completion of a kill mission.
  11. I would not mind either having 1 more perk point, having the sextant perk for free or having Fleet2 cost 5 instead of 6 points. That way traders who want to use 3 additional ships can still see where they are on the map.
  12. Technically, you do not need to play the alt account at all if the only reason you have it is for additional warehouse and ship storage. As long as the alt is in the same nation as your main you can transfer any ship that is not Imported and also use the alt for storage of upgrades, books, and all those other wonderful things that eat up warehouse space. Hell, you can even have the alt create a clan to gain additional storage by having a clan warehouse. it will probably be cheaper overall to have an alt account then it will be to by a DLC that adds 5 or 10 ship slots.
  13. While I understand the issue that faces a small clan, there are ports that only need 900 BR to go after. These ports can be captured by 2 people.
  14. Several good ideas but I would suggest steering away from points 5 and 8. If someone has real life issues that requires them to be inactive being automatically ejected from the clan may not be the best option if the person is already dealing with a bad situation. 8 may not work for those members that do not or can not generate the minimum amount of the tax (new low rank players).
  15. Wasnt the reason for lowering the BR of a port so that it was easier to set a port battle? Cant have it both ways people.
  16. Entered combat against an AI and at the beginning of the battle both the target and I was above the water, after a few seconds the target was upright in the water and I was inverted. If possible I would like the ship replaced mostly due to the 52 Pood cannons that were onboard
  17. Here is the real problem, when Russia was pressing hard on taking british ports they avoided taking a crafting port because they knew the outcome that it would cause. Havoc has been drilling hard to take Truxillo because it was a crafting port and so that they could wave it in BASTD's faces that they took the port. This little prize was denied and so they cry about it. The end results is still the same in that britain lost a major asset but that is not good enough for the ego driven havoc leadership. Havoc had as much of a chance to stop CRC as the british did so crying that britain should have intercepted CRC along with the russian 1st rates amounts to zip. Havoc got outsmarted, there is no denying that fact.
  18. I understand it is a race, and how many times so far has sweden set a port battle within a short time after the timer window opened? Did this lone swede get his port battle set shortly after the window opened? If not, than havoc had a chance same as everyone else. They were not prepared to take the port and someone else was. If any other clan had gotten to it first would there still be the same amount of crying about it? Probably so. CRC pulled off a nice stunt using diplomacy and had the forethought to have all the needed preparations underway. While I am not happy about losing the port, i laugh at all the crying going on about it. Someone showed intelligence (CRC) and managed to pull a tortoise vs the hare maneuver.
  19. I dont completely agree because once the timer came up havoc could have run a hostility mission at the same time, which means they would have finished before or been in the area at the same time and seen the russian fleet. Because havoc decided to wait, someone else got to it first, that is why they are complaining. I guess they expected the nation to just sit idle waiting for them to make their move. Like an old saying goes, A poor decision on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
  20. or simply make it to the only nations that can join a battle are the ones that are involved. No foreign crap happens then
  21. it was a single player who enlisted a foreign nation, attack the foreign nation. That lone snow would have to do over 334 missions to take the port. Considering the amount of ships that sweden has sent after british holdings i have no doubt that they could have stopped the russian fleet if they wanted to.
  22. The thing that I find funny is that if havoc wanted to attack Truxillo they could have, if they wanted to stop CRC from attacking it they could have. It seems that havoc is pissed off simply because someone beat them to the punch. Like they tell britain, get over it.
  23. 1. Loki runes - it is forced PVP upon players who chose to do PVE to build up. So instead of challenging themselves against a strong AI to get experience they get raped by a player who joins in and risks nothing. 2. The decision to make mortar brigs completely useless unless it hides behind another ship. No other ship in the game requires that another ship aid it in its function. Due to the very weak side cannons on the ship it makes it where 87% of the ships in the game have equal or higher damage ability and only 6% are slightly weaker. This means that there are only 4 ships in the game that the mortar brig can engage to grind and have an equal fight. Again, no other ship in the game requires assistance to grind or do its assigned duty. Just giving it 2 more cannons on the side would increase the number of equal ships to 7, that is almost double making it easier to gain experience in without having to replace it multiple times due to the odd loki rune that shows up.
  24. I guess with the damage capability of the towers and fort being reduced we will see more port battles done in lighter ships.
  25. On more than one occasion I jumped into a battle and was placed in command of a rather beat to crap LGV. Since there is no option to chose which ship you wind up in there probably will not be any clear cut rules that forces someone who uses a loki rune to actually fight. The whole idea behind Loki runes is that they are to cause mayhem and force pvp upon players that would normally avoid it. This was part of the issue when it was forced onto the PVE server. As for the idea of griefing, taking the target away from the other player is always an option because it denies them the xp and loot. Most of the time, it will drop you into a ship that is already shot to pieces, I say this because one night I had to join and return to port 4 times before actually entering a battle (took about 4 min) and in that battle I was in an LGV that was already down to 40% sails vs a frigate.
