  1. The inflation isnt really from the production goods, but from the gold itself. By giving out more per mission reward it effectively prints more money, thus reducing the value of the current money. This is where the inflation will come in. While again I think the XP rewards are good and the marks increase is good. The problem lies in the massive increase in gold payouts per mission. An increase of 1.5 would have been fine, but now I think it is closer to 2.5 if not higher.
  2. I vote for the GOONSWARM.. The Goons have been the most prolific PVP, RVR clans in the history of gaming. They are the biggest and baddest badguys in EVE, and several other PVP MMOs, and have been that way for nearly 20 years.
  3. Haxus dev of Shores of Hazeron. You challenged. And it should be... "Find a game dev who fixes bugs faster and then we'll (or we will) talk." Not trolling just helping.
  4. Honestly nothing has changed for the small clans or individual players. It is still a game for zerg clans. So I dont see how this patch has changed anything other than highlight this fact.
  5. I am just pointing out the obvious. No need to get defensive. And I can list a few dozen if not a hundred vaporware games that have never left "alpha" stage. But 99% of those are not sold on STEAM at an "A" list game price. Just saying. On further review of this patch it is a good patch. I just wish you would look at the redundancy of some of the ships and stop adding ships that werent successful or even used in the region and add ships that were used. See above reply. And Duke Nukem is a special animal... if you wanted to talk about things talk about anything Paradox did... or didnt do.
  6. Here is the rub, it has been in this status for how long? Three years? Maybe 4 now... At this rate it will never finish.
  7. So you mean not BLACK. Because they aint pirates. Dave the Spanish, and Iraqouis are more pirate than your whole clan.
  8. So my assessment of the patch is as follows. After 30-60min of playing lastnight. It is a solid 6 out of 10. While it fixes some grind issues with ship XP, gold and marks, it does break other things and increase inflation. The reduction in material weights was a very good change, but the lack of adjustments on the actual cargo ships or trader ships is not helping. A Trader Snow is still useless compared to a Trader Brig. And a Brig is useless compared to the LGV. The other issues of population balance. The nations still see no point in being balanced, and are even further from being useful than before. I wont go into the reinforcement issues, as others have already clubbed that to death. Then the PB mechanic really hasnt changed so the meta will remain the same. Thus it will get boring very fast and continue to lose players in the RVR area because PVP is just easier and cheaper.
  9. But you can buy from their online outlets 24/7. That is the point he is making. On to the next part of the issue. You still havent added any information for new or returning players on the server selection screen to give them some idea on what server is what? Just naming it Global and EU doesnt help. You need to hold peoples hands and let them know what exactly the differences are.
  10. I thought long and hard about it and I am highly doubting I will return. Many of the core issues still havent been addressed just brushed aside as per usual.
  11. GLOBAL wasnt a failure... the admin failed it. 1- he placed the server in the second choice slot. 2- he provided ZERO information for the incoming playerbase on the differences between the servers on login. 3- there was no information on STEAM or in a email to the player base to tell the restrictions on EU or the lack of restrictions on Global. 4- there was LIMITED information put out prior to the wipe informing everyone that they would HAVE to login and do something on that server in order to update XP and character information. 5- It was not a true wipe, those that had clans there stayed, those that migrated had to start from scratch. Over all the server was ate up like a soup sandwich. I have seen US Army privates perform a simple task like that better.
  12. It is REAL hard for me to think of something positive today.. been a bad day. But I am going to try. A great many of the ships look pretty. I will leave it at that.
  13. I honestly dont know why we keep posting... @admin last response was 3 days ago.
  14. You're new here... havent seen you in these forums before.
  15. The problem is we tried that... and it ended up being a game development cycle as if it was being put out by an ADHD hyperactive toddler. A little bit here, a little bit there, and then a whole lot at once, then wipe it all and start over. Some of us dont want World of Warships Sailing edition. In EVE you loot the wreck and can make billions doing it, enough to pay for your monthly subscription. I know of people who average 2-4bil ISK a week just pirating in EVE. That is roughly 30-60USD a week in sub fees they can avoid.
  16. The Pickle is a Hermaphrodite schooner also. It has a square sail and fore-aft rigging, like a smaller Prince. The Privateer and Lynx are "Schooners".
  17. The key part of your statement is 17th Century, which is 1600s. In the 1600s Henry Morgan sailed the Caribbean and Francis Drake had just defeated the Spanish Armada. Names like "Calico Jack Rackam", Black Beard, and Horatio Nelson, werent even thought of or even born yet. This game takes place in the 18th-19th century... which is nearly 150-200years AFTER the 1600s.
  18. First, my theory is sound. You could sail out on Global and find in a Port Battle easily 23-25 1st rates in all 3 of the major populated nations (I am including the Pirates). It wasnt until everyone quit caring did those numbers drop. I know CKA, TF, and VCO could field enough 1st rates to put every person in their clans in one. Same for BLACK and BLOOD in pirates. The US had NPG could field a 1st rate fleet, but lost that after one fight. There is a COMPLETE lack of variation on port battles for SoLs, yet you insist that there will be. Well I am going to say it, I aint seen it yet. The forums are nearly overflowing with good suggestions and ideas that would improve the game one way or the other. Some of them are actually VERY well thought and worded with detailed instructions and modifications from others that have chimed in on the subject. With the removal of the invisibility without adjusting it, you are just returning to a previous state of broken. Instead of adjusting it, like adding double blind. If you are invisible the outside world ships are invisible to you too. This has been suggested before but was ignored, or missed. Then there is the nations balance issues, population is a joke in half of the nations in game. I mean Spain on 2 servers cant even mass a single PB fleet. But other nations like the Pirates which shouldnt be a nation yet are.... WTF over? Have some of the largest fleets in game.
  19. EVE doesnt use an XP system at all, so you can throw that out. And it doesnt give cash rewards for PVP victories either... T-Totally different game there. WoW, as in the World of Warcraft, actually did give rewards for RvR participation losses. But again comparing this game to WoW is like comparing Youtube to Netflix. Actually the auto industry would ignore all that data if it werent for the National Highway Safety Commission. Fun fact.... Ford, GM, and Chrysler all said the 3 point seat belt, that is found in all cars today, was to expensive to develop back in the 1960s... and refused to put them in their vehicles. Volvo designed the 3 point seat belt and did it with very little actual cost and gave away the design to everyone for free. <-15 year automotive technician/parts adviser, Volvo Certified Technician, and Chrysler Master Parts Adviser.
  20. I cut the bravado to get to the point of your post. We all know this is "Early Access" but that doesnt change the fact that almost a year and half ago you had a very defined guideline for the way things were going to go, how they were being developed and when we could roughly expect them. And you were good at sticking to that guide. But you deviated from that about 12 months ago. It has since been down hill. Your changes have no reasoning behind them and even less actual testing. You push out things and then retract them or just flat out throw them out without adjusting or even giving a chance to test things. This is not how Early Access testing is done. If you want us to test things, actually let us test things, dont just throw things out there, and then yank them without even listening to the community that says they are ok, but need adjusted. The idea of the marks was good, it just needed adjustment but instead you yanked conquest marks and threw them out, then through in this horrid victory mark system.... which isnt any better. You launched 10.0 with the idea that 1st rates would be more rare... yet they are more common now after your recent changes then they were previously.
  21. Here is my reason for leaving. A complete lack of direction by the developers. They have been flip flopping ideas every 3 months, each time it is drastically different than the previous version with no chance at all at tweaking or adjusting the version they just released. We have gone from flags, to no flags, to 46 hours to 22 hours, fine woods, no fine woods, complete wipes, and then reversals on features that are rolled out. The addition of fantasy ships and then the lack of actual national mechanics for nations to set them apart from each other. No real pirate functions, pirates are just another nation that can fight its own. The continuing effort of the developer to ignore most of the population that plays the game more than 2 hours a week, and actually have input on how the game feels. Then there is the bugs, exploits and loopholes that go unchecked for weeks, and when they are finally fixed, instead of balancing the problem or removing the things that were caused by it they ignore it. Now we have the development of Legends starting, and they keep throwing that in our face like that is going to make anything better. Look if I wanted World of Sailing ships I would have bought this game in sea trials. But I didnt. I wanted an OW sandbox PVP game set in the age of sail. So with the game spiraling down the toilet, I decided it is best to distance myself from it till it either dies, or changes and becomes something I wanted. And if it doesnt, there are a dozen other games I can play and put money towards that do fit my wants. There is a reason why EVE has been around almost 20 years.
  22. If you buy all of the materials off of the market, I think the cost per repair is still sub 750 per unit. You can make 50 per run which is enough for most 6th and 7th rates for a few days of constant combat if you are half way decent. That is for hull repairs. Rigging repairs are a bit more but you can get those pretty easily off of NPC ships.
  23. That and a great many ships that do fall in the time period we are in are little more than copies of other designs with minor changes.
  24. Do we really need more ships that never would have or even made it to the Caribbean?
  25. Repairs on the 6th and 7th rates are already cheap. A Lynx requires 2 hull repairs per repair action, and 3 sail per rigging repair. The Snow takes 4 Hull and 3 Sail. The Brig is 4 and 3. Privateer is 3 and 3. They dont get much cheaper than that.
