  1. I have to ask what do you call medium range? because in this time frame that is 150-250 yards... These guns were not very good against heavy targets beyond those ranges... now saying that... even non-penetrating hits should be doing damage over time.. I think that is what is really missing.... It is still wood and it gets weaken and loses splinters and pieces if hit enough even with lighter guns... My suggestion is very slightly tweek the bounce angles some and the penetration values... Same for Masts.. they went from to easy to no point in trying
  2. Screen FLeets outside to try and stop the incoming Fleets.. that is what 3rds and up are for... Hell 3rds are good for trying to slow down the incoming bigger fleets to... just not the safest job
  3. Huh? right now ports are nothing.. if your faction controls 1 of each Resource set you can ALWAYS get all the resources you need... if you have the gold via the European Trader function... This is making them mean more to have Hell make suggestions on ways to have it better.. this is an idea forum.. toss them out here:)
  4. Ok 3 months in I have been thinking on this one a while... Make all Capitals (National and Regional) like current National Capitals... Allow anyone that is not currently at war with that faction to dock(not outpost) and trade/repair.... WIth in the new port battle rules make 1/2 the remaining Deep ports like the new Deep Water PBs.. the other 1/2 like teh new Medium PB(but still allow All ships to dock... Make ALL Captureable ports worth something...... 1) Lord Protector gets a 1% of all resource production in the port.. NPC and PC.. THis is what he uses to help upgrade port defenses ect.... a) Limit the number of ports any one player can be Lord Protector of. I would suggest no more then 1/2 the max Outposts you can have... 2) COntroling clan gets 2% deposited directly into Clan Warehouse a) maybe a limit on total ports any clan can have this level of control over.. this as in everything would be a Dev decision... Losing a port should HURT....... if a port is captured ALL resources and ships docked there should be subject to capture... ALL Of it.... Say something like 50% of the resources and materials in the port are captured and split among the attackers. Sent to their nearest Warehouse(they did just capture a port fuill of ships It is a conquest game WIthin this same thinking if you capture ships there needs to be a way to ransom them back to the owners if you wish...... Many will not like this idea... But it IS a war game... As everything I post in this section.. these are ideas for what I think would make a more fun game.. outlooks will vary/.//// Have fun guys and gals.. at the end of the day all you gain or lose is Pixels
  5. I agree Kill Mails and Kill boards are one of teh most Toxic things that most games have... Take your own screen shots and keep your own if it means that much to you....

  7. NO the chance of setting your self on fire when you fire your Top deck guns at Full sail.. That was just not normally done due to the proximity of all the Hemp Canvas to all that spark and flame from gun fire. Just to make it interesting:).. n

  9. Rather see a limit on number of attacks on a single nation in say 4-5 hour time frame then a limit on where.... BUt still no more TPs then we have now.

Please no more TPs then we already have. 24 hour notice that a attack is happening and then a 2-4 hour window right after that the attacker descides on when it actuially starts.. no flag to drop or intercept.. Just attack ships that are incoming and then attack what makes it into teh port.. ad sink stuff. If you cant muster a defense in 24 hours you dont deserve teh port anyway
  11. Just make ALL ports have a small very small version of teh Green zone with this change.. You attack someone in it or while your in it... The ports guns SINK you...... Then you can sit outside all you want.... but no invis at all. never under stood that for undocking...
  12. While this is not popular I will post in here as I did in teh Pirate Mechanic thread Pirates should have 3 -5 Pirate Havens.. much like current Capital.. These should be the only ports they ever own.. among them all resource types... Each Piarte gets to pick which of these is His/her Capital They could be restricted to building Connie size and below ships with each of them an adjusted version like the Pirate Frigate... They should also be allowed to Craft Pirate Frigates and only sell them in those ports.... Raid ports instead of capturing... if raid is successful they get a LOT of lot... It should be all the resource in the port and it's production builds and warehouses.. Split among the attackers up to the max amount that will fit in their closest warehouse.. All ships in port should be capture able also up to the max you can store in your home port. A raided port should be completely useless to anyone for 24-48 real hours while it recovers from the Sack... and unattackable for 7 real days after the recovery. Battles flags should be bought 24 hours before they can start.. Start time should be 3-4 hour block after the 24 hours is up making it a 24-28 hour lead time. picked by the attackers and not known by the defenders. This allows both sides to get forces into the area and prepare.. If people are really wanting PvP this should end up creating several open water and 1 port battle easily. There should be no flag... it should just open at the set time and during that time you have a BIG fight... ships sink others can join for say an hour max from start time... No BR auto win... Fight till one side is sunk, captured or leaves. This will do a few things.. 1 fewer total attacks in a samll area.. just due to time.. the ones that happen should be AWESOME BR limits on port battle insure it isn't just a stack of max level ships... Unless some thinks they can win a PB with 3 Santis vs 25 Friagtes(as an example not actual numbers) But hey what do I know about fun..

If you capture a ship with Permanent Upgrades there should be a very small chance say 3-5% per that the copy you get has them also... if it is a 1 Dur ship you capture it should come with ALL install permanent upgrades... I mean what happens? You take a ship and the Copper Plating falls off? Honestly any non-personnel based upgrades should be capture-able if installed.
  14. No thanks.. AI travels far to slow... they dont tack and move in even good wind at 50% slower or more then a player ship. I just want one for following friendies or group members so the crew follows the formation if they turn while I am grabbing a drink or in the bathroom
  15. No thanks.... I would rather have LESS info in open world...... ALl you should see is Ship type and Nation they claim to be. no other info unless you have run into that player in that ship type in game before..
  16. TP timer to 2 hours would be nice... TRansport between Regional Capitals you own or Free ports by buying passage would be nice to.. As foe the Auto Follow.. I would love it for tagging and following group members so if you have to run ot teh bathroom and they turn you are still with them:)
  17. It is just so unrealisct... no commander would have 1/2 teh crew of a Ship of the Line Marines . it just is odd to say the least.. War ships didn't plan on boarding actions as their main attack function.. it is what you did IF you had a chance to. At least in SOL vs SOL battles until someone was dismasted or you just got tangled up. Heck give us the option to set number of Marines up to the cuirrent max with no loses in Quality
  18. No You should be able to have less marines that are just as good in combat bonuses... That is my point.., you shouldnt have to use half your crew for Quality
  19. actually really no reason to have the groups even showing in battle.. you dont have group flags showing like open world...
  20. The Quality is fine actually.. The numbers on a ship are just silly..... Normal Marines numbers on a 4th Rate was around had roughly 400 crew and 100 Marines/soldiers... But in here Gold Marines would have 250? Set Marines numbers as set number based on ship class... not % crew... Just an idea...
  21. So? If a large group pays the several thousand gold for a Flag shouldn't they be sure their people get in the battle and not locked out because mister I want to play but not be pat of teh groups wants in?
  22. Note... not demands just ideas here... A tab when you drop the battle flag to set who can enter... Clan members Clan and Group Members or Anyone....... This way you cant have the group that buys the flag locked out of the battle by others.
  23. Which doesnt apply here ..because we are not keeping most of this... we are trying to find a fight but everyone runs away... Be it the Main fleets or teh gank wannabes that sit inside MT green zone
