  1. Would be odd to ask for submissions if they have a finished product

    Idea: Shunning

I think shuns are a bit much. I would rather see the same as other MMO's where you can simply mute and block people if they really get on your nerves. Some people will always troll, always try to provoke stuff, and negative reinforcement won't do anything to them. Welcome to online gaming.
  3. Hmm, its really not a good card, while it should run it probably* won't be able to max it out and run good. If your looking for bang for your buck and not the top end cutting edge card I would suggest AMD. * = don't take my word for it, don't know anyone with one playing NA.
  4. I somehow doubt we will see that level of detail just due to performance issues and the modeling / animation needed but who knows. That said I do expect better crew representation than 6 guys doing a repetitive animation. I would like, in an ideal world, a few marines on bigger ships, a few more gun loaders on visible decks and a few 'sailors' manning rigging, maybe 50 models per 1st / 2nd / 3rd rate and then 40/30/20 etc for smaller ships. Maybe an officer or 2 near the helm?
  5. A little preview of what I am working on, all hand drawn and painted (this will only be part of the box). I would also like to know, like Caldwell, when the deadline for submissions is as I have a lot of work to do still.
  6. That is sort of the idea from what we have been told. First the Caribbean is going to be released for testing, followed by more 'zones' if the game is successful.
  7. Sadly it is nigh impossible on a labtop. You are basically stuck with what you got out of the box. I thought you had a desktop!
  8. On the bright side the game should get more optimized as we go I would recommend a nice card to go with that nice i5 Maybe a r290.
  9. It will most definitely not hold up well. Its a integrated graphics chip, and they suffer horsepower problems. Basically inferior to all but the worst standalone graphics cards. No idea how it will run Naval Action but in most modern games (when it came out - ie Battlefield 3/4, DayZ Standalone) it will get ~30 fps on the lowest settings possible.. and more often than not even less than 30. It is roughly equal to a Radeon HD 5550, a card that is now considered ancient. Will it run - yes. Will it be smooth FPS and pretty? No.
  10. Haha sorry I guess! I presumed you had Steam open
  11. Go to Library, in the bottom left hit "Add a game" -> Activate a product on steam -> follow the steps.
  12. Looks like a spring breeze to us up in the frozen north.
  13. Its just a default message when you download files of certain types that want permission to write to HDD's and other stuffs. Steam is a safe program as long as you are downloading the real version.
  14. I doubt and hope that you can not be allied with one clan of a nation and at war with another clan of the same nation. Having AI nations that players serve under and have reputation with would serve no purpose if this was possible as each clan may as well be its own nation if the nation cannot force or control loyalty and commit fully to war all resources and forces as it would have been able to in historical times; barring civil unrest which would most often result in peace treaties or revolution. Spoken agreements of non-aggression between clan leaders can always occur but who wants peace in a game about age of sail war.
  15. Clippers should be a no go imo. While on the topic of ship dates and what is in the game right now. It irks me that people call for ships to have historical characteristics and balancing when the game compresses 100+ years into a single instance at any given time. Basically, they want realistic characteristics and armaments etc but also want to sail a ship from 1701 vs a ship from 1815, have a guess at which one will win. That's jumping 100+ years without taking into account any of the advances (albeit slow) in naval technology. People really need to see the scope of every comment and how it affects the web of the game as it is a MMO and everything is connected.
  16. Steam settings don't really matter. How's your internet connection? Are you on WIFI? Do you drop connections on youtube or other sites?

    Severe lag

When you say 6 gig you mean RAM correct?
  18. Haha I'm curious who they were.
  19. Amphore doesn't count. *whisper* he's liable to get alpha spiked early
  20. Going for sails is definetly not very easy especially with the current repair mechanics where masts can spring back up and sails repair quickly. Your actually better off shooting heavy into sails right now and hoping for a mast down. If we simulate the eventual mechanic of masts not popping back up aka the defender does not use sail repairs I would like to test it. My only qualm right now is there is a large gap between ships so that the larger class can one shot the smaller. That said some snows vs a trinc or trincs vs a bellona in a gank situation where the bellona is adamant to survive and not suicide in could be a good test. That's if we can catch a bellona in a reasonable amount of time as the devs have mentioned wanting to have a escape mechanic similar to potbs where if no damage is done they can leave the instance.
  21. Such a true point. Chases will also be 100x longer and some boats, ie the Trincolamee known for its speed, will be almost impossible to catch.. unless you have a Trincolamee.. but then.. they..go the same speed? I have a feeling there will be a lot of ganking and running and fewer fair fights when people realize speed wins and boats are (apparently) not that easy to get. You get a winnable fight in fast boats - you fight. You get a impossible fight you just run and re-engage. Oh the QQ will be good.
  22. When you click on Forums on the top bar beside Game-Labs and Members the page opened will have a "Recent Topics" section on the far right near the top. Those are all the new threads posted.
  23. It really does explain why most fights tended to be 1 - 4 broadsides followed by boardings or down masts resulting in surrenders. Just couldn't take that many hits.
