I am trying to get access to the OW. I did go into properties...then to the beta tab...then inputted the code that was provided to me....it accepts the code....but there is not the drop down for an Open World option that is said should be there. I have tried this over and over again for at least a week or two. Can anybody help me?
Thanks,
FLGibsonJr
I originally posted this a year and a half ago, but thought I would bump it up. I thought some of you on here would find it very interesting.

And the results will be different in the Battle of Lake Erie II. In addition to Amherstburg, we are installing additional ship building capabilities in York and we will have the grandest fleet west of the St. Lawrence. We intend to rule the lakes and we will not be dislodged.

This video shows what actual damage and destruction was caused by cannon fire on a ship. It is a live demonstration and very interesting. It may also be a help to the developers to see actual re-created damage caused on a ship by cannons.

I am interested in the battle version of this game that the developers have mentioned would come first. In that version of the game, having as many of the historic ships accurately portrayed like the USS Constitution, HMS Victory, etc etc are crucial and very important for this game to have. I am very glad that they are pursuing historic ships in an accurate manner.

I would say for 1 vs 1, my preference would be for Frigates evenly matched, identical attributes (perhaps both having identical USS Constitution attributes). Some of the most memorable and exciting battles for me in AOSII, took from 45 minutes to 2 hours. I do have to say however the larger the battle in terms of players the more enjoyable it was, I remember 4 vs 4 being incredibly fun. Connectivity was an issue with the largest battles, but that was 12 years ago.

I like having as large as possible selection of naval ships, especially for the version of the game where you will be able to recreate certain period battles. It is great to hear that most of the famous ships will be covered.
It is great to hear that the USS Constitutuion will be included in the game!!! I know one of the reasons she withstood punishment well, is her hull is constructed of live oak, which is especially strong. My son and I won a lottery and were able to sail on her during a turn around sail years ago. It was very memorable and a substantial part of her is still original, she still has on her captured British guns with the royal seal on them.

This link shows maneuvering during several of the USS Constitution's battles, I thought it would be a good reference for the developers and interesting to everyone else. I found the maneuvering versus the HMS Java to be especially interesting.
