Battle Ratings ( post DLC )
Dibbler (Retired) replied to Hethwill's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Just out of curiousity what BR would be needed to make a ship able to tag a 1st on it's own? I think perhaps this is also a factor why people are so happy to have their 6th BR increased. 😂 I don't mind either way, but thought should point this out.- 41 replies

Development plans for the H2 2018

I was in game 2 weeks before i found you could actually teleport between outposts... oh my the hours wasted lol. I can't see an issue with paying to teleport to another port, as long as the cost isn't crazy high. -

Why they are both shallow vessels? If banning herc from shallows should not be same also for Req? Actually banning both from shallows would solve a lot. -

I would just like to see a little more balance overall and am shouting for my herc to be nerfed lol. However it's understandable people wanting to protect their favourite ship, they are like women. Am sure things will settle as devs get handle on things but at moment is crazy dlc swarm out there. Believe me if the swing went other way and they nerfed Req to death i would stand up for it also, the dlc ships need to be better ofc so people buy but perhaps less so than they currently are . -

Maybe is answer, or as done with herc make req 5th rate. I guess if they buffed 6th rate crew levels light ships hammocks could go totally which would solve a large part of issues. I know before you say that Req is 6th (as was herc) but crew levels on BOTH ships has made other ships pointless in shallow port battles as so outmatched in both firepower and crew levels (boarding). Of course is made worse with meta-gaming but that will occur whatever is done and new meta will become the norm. I'm sure devs will sort out balance somehow, maybe increasing crew levels on all rates as if is done on 6th then 5th up also need rebalance. Things are somewhat of a clusterfook at moment though lol, when i see a req i just run can't be bothered chasing them or engaging way things are (which is a pity). I not saying ships should be nerfed to oblivion, but the herc i have i don't really use atm as is OP just like the Req, as was the wasa when first introduced. Things will be right i guess, just maybe will take time to find a solution. -

The snow is better downwind, the req better upwind thats not really an issue each is the polar opposite of the other as were prince and snow previously. For me at least the issue with Req is with light ship hammocks can muster insane crew amount, also hitbox on sails (as pointed out) is off and something seems not right with hitbox on herc and req. BR's are also to low for herc and req. Main issue is ability to stack light ship hammocks as was with herc. -

You do realise that the Herc was made a 5th rate for the same reasons and has less crew than req lol..... crew space/hammocks/light ship hammocks? -
DLC ships and Crafted ships
Dibbler (Retired) replied to Lovec1990's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I wish we could have another server for Naval Action, a non ship-DLC server where dlc is added but is just cosmetic flags, paints, sails... I bought a dlc ship more to support game, but they are destroying more than they give i think. At least in rienforcements make it so if dlc ship attacks then rienforcement is another req, or herc.... mercury's and navy brigs don't cut the mustard as a deterrent. -

Buildings not magic
Dibbler (Retired) replied to Gregory Rainsborough's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I don't think building resources are an issue tbh, lets face it with buildings only at moment you can build fir/oak ships not a threat to balance. However materials that are spawned in ports such as rare woods (white oak, sabicu, etc), along with mats for refits i think should have a hard cap. For example cartagena produces carta tar, lets say it spawns 1000 tar and then supply is exausted and supply is moved to a new random port in the area. This would promote more RvR as mats change port on exaustion and stop the situation of a nation holding a limited resource for a long time. Many wouldn't like this ofc as means their army of alts will all need forged papers as economy is more fluid, but hey it would give more game balance. But as with carta Tar, if cap is set at say enough to supply port for 2 months or so with some RNG so people cannot figure out exactly when supply will exaust itself would create more fluid port battles around map rather than being concentrated on those few ports that drop resources needed/wanted. When a resource is found announce it in chat as you do with the fleet wrecks and watch the rush to raise hostility lol. In short by doing this a currently "useless" port could suddenly become a point of contention as a grove of white oak, hot spring tar pond or whatever found. -

I think one of main issues with the Req would be fixed by making it a 5th rate, crew levels are a bit insane for a 6th using light ship hammocks. Wasn't this the same reason herc was made a 5th? -

Can there really be less action in the open seas? Excluding rienforcement zones ofc. I would bet 20% online are alts atm lol. -

Perhaps the answer is to release a new DLC (twice price of Req) that is better than the Req in all ways. 😂 -
