  1. Most PBs are with 4th rates. So it wouldnt fix the problem for the most part. Tell me a situation where the new system would restrict you, except for screening abuse close PBs.
  2. You are still be able to attack much bigger ships and fleets than what you have, except when the enemy has a very big fleet. I dont see how this does restrict you. Do you understand what a curve is? Did you even read the OP?
  3. But what if you have only 1 screening group, and the enemy has 5? How can you get a good fight in this situation with the current tagging system? So you think 10 guys in green ships wasting the time of 25 players without the intention to fight or win and keeping them hostage in a useless battle is an okay mechanic?
  4. @Francau Hey! Sorry ich bin etwas inaktiv grad. Am besten gehst du einfach auf den TS, wie redii schon gesagt hat. Dann hilft dir auch sicher jemand beim "Umzug". Bis dann.
  5. Something is not working? The community requested it!
  6. Most of this is copied from here. I dont get this PoV at all. Lobbies are coded, leaderboards are coded, prizes are coded, events are coded. Just put them together and then theres no need for another "arenabased" game. Why dont you let people choose what they want to do? If they want quick and balanced action they can do lobbyevents, if they want sandbox, RvR and all that other stuff they can go into OW. Do you think screening is fine how it is? If yes then whats your tipp for smaller nations to ever reach a PB? What about local timezones for each port? admin was even talking about that. Im a bit sad that you havent found a solution yet. Thats true, but it doesnt work. Look at PvP2, all US players in one alliance vs Chinese in the other. All they do is day and nightflipping each other with almost no opposition. How can you not react to that? Its stupid and too easy to say "players wanted it, so they have to eat it" if it doesnt work.
  7. Traders Brig is really fast, even against the wind. Try to shoot its sails with chain to 60% or even lower. Then press "9" to go in boarding mode and to get the preperation up (need s to be at least 50). Push the ship against the wind, so you and the enemy stop. Then you can board it. I think that it didnt work yet for you because the traders brig was still too fast (both of you have to be below 3,3 knots).
  8. Biggest was Bellona I think and I still received a lot of damage. Shots never bounced, even if I had a good angle towards the fort. Range idk, just in range so that the fort starts shooting I guess. I was once close (5 frigs vs 1 trader) and the fort absolutely demolished us. 1 guy sank becuz he got demasted, the rest survived barely (the trader survived easily). Since that I try to never go near the forts
  9. I think forts are pretty strong. They shoot really fast and they do a lot of dmg with high penetration. In fights you actually see a lot of ships sinking to forts (player X was killed by Tower A), which means they did mayor damage to them. Whenever I get targetted by one Ill get the hell outta that area.
  10. Hello, boarded ships are useless, except 1st and maybe 2nd rates. They only have 1 durability and that means you cant use upgrades for them. So they are much weaker than ships with regular upgrades. This is a pity, since boarding a ship should feel rewarding and useful. Imagine being a true pirate and only use ships which you have boarded. It would be great, its true. We can make it great, with one simple change: The boarded ship will keep the upgrades which the former owner used, transformed into permanent upgrades. Like this: Lets say this ship was boarded. It has just 1 durability, but I can still use it with full efficiency, since the guy I boarded has used these upgrades. If I dont want specific upgrades like Marines for example, I can still remove them and get a regular upgrade slot back. What do you think?
  11. The idea of giving people the choice to join the combat instead of just pulling them in is great. I think that the 3rd circle is way too big, because If you join at the edge of that circle you are basically a nonfactor in the battle because you are so far away its boring to sail 40 mins or even longer to reach the fight. I actually like the 2 circle system, just delete all NPC fleets and allow joining for 2 mins =) btw, the colors of your picture are cancer
  12. Important problems to be solved Nightflips: Split map into 3 timezone regions -> US / EU / Asian. PBs can only happen in the primetime of the port (17-23) Screening and PBs: right now its player numbers > skill, tactic, teamplay. possible solution (link) AI fleets: no AI fleets, except for traders Make OW PvP great again: too much AI fleets and tower bullshit makes it really frustrating to look for fights on OW AI in general is boring give some love to small battles (Fellvreds Small battle Challenge was great) nice ideas from others: PvP currency (received for kill / assist awards) with which rare items (such as paints, uncraftable modules, or maybe even some sort of 'one-time-blueprints' for the uncraftable ships (endymion/Indefatigable/Santa Cecilia/WappenVonHamburg) can be obtained "Silver-Currency" which is not given by sinking ships / selling stuff, but by helping the national effort (successful Port Battles / screening battles etc.) which can be spent on voting for Port Battle targets (as you're trying to get rid off the hostility system) Features (additions or cutting) Black board in ports where players can leave a individual message to others (for example looking for group or need trader escort...) Bounties more stats (shots bounced, masts penetrated)
  13. We are talking about PvP events here. Add some prices similar to Fellvreds small battle challenge and watch how people will join. What re-design are u talking about? Its just adding another option, not hard to do. Splitting playerbase? Right now there is just nothing to do outside of PBs and the PvP event, so why not give us a reason to log in between those? So many PvP players left the game already because there is just no content for them.
  14. You forgot one solution: Split the whole map into 3 timezone regions (American, Asian, European). Ports in these regions can only be attacked during the primetime of the respective timezone. Its like lord protector, but without abuse.
  15. Yeah you are right, but this is like the 5th topic about this problem. So at one point there is no need for discussions, because everything has been said already and its just repetitive. I was for a global server for the most part, because I thought we can balance things out with the tool the devs gave us: the alliance system. But its impossible. Zero chance. And the only argument we heard from the US players so far was "its a global server". No solution, nothing. Great base for a healthy discussion.
  16. AMERICA FIRST - NOW YOU EVEN HAVE YOUR OWN SERVER
  17. So you say hey we suffered due to a stupid inbalance, now its your turn? Great solution!
  18. They can stay ofc, but here they wont get a PB at their primetime. Again, if you dont like it what is your solution?
  19. This combined with PBs only at a primetime window (pbs only from 17 to 23 server time) will solve the problem. If you dont like it then what is your solution?
  20. US are not interested in that, so why should I? I just dont want to deal with them anymore, idc if they all quit the game or play PvE on PvP2. Just get rid of them.
  21. DO IT Its better to cut the wounded hand before the poison gets to your heart...
  22. Well if nations/alliances are unable to balance themselves then what else can you do?
