  2. tell that the Teabags (brits) in south jamaika ingame, Problemm with your comment is that you want to use an argument against a ship for pirate because of historical accuracy, ive stated all the time that this is a weak argument. Also same goes for ya matey, Historicly accuracy claim just to prevent a ship gettting into the game is a weak argument. Because if we go just once into this way of historically accuracy, then we need todo it also for everything else, -No 1strates in the game -USA only has a handful of linehsips -Pyrates only sailing shallowaterships -France and Brits are the Supirior factions in the game and you would not win awar. History is pretty unbalanced i think, SO STOP ARGUING ABOUT HISTORALY ACCURACY its not a sim its a Realistic game

  4. at that time oyu got swarms of enemy ships around your habours, but in the moment ships spawn from your nation or friendly nation around your port. To the trader, they have an inpact on the market, but a negative one, they always hold goods in their belle, mostimes primary resources, so every nation can just hunt traders down and have endlessly resources. A more dynamic economy and a way to have your resources been bought and sold by AI traders was in my mind, so then tradehubs like the KPR triangle will eventually bleedout on resources, since the ai would buy them at best price and bring them to another friendly port, it gives also nation and non nation players morce chances to hurt an oposing faction, and would result in players to defend known traderoutes to or from the hub, resulting in more PVP. It also results in a higher moneysink, Economical warfare is one of the oldest strategie, destroy their wheat and your enemy will strave to death. And it would give the game a way to surive with its low playerbase, maybe even encourage PVE players to get to PVP severs, or invites new players. and in the end you only have a certain amount of tradeships, means if they are gone you might end up that your ports are running dry on certain resources, of corse that limit of traders would need to be adjusted, and replentished at some point, but thats why we are in a alpha, i suggest 500 traders of diffrent size from the tradersbrigg to the indiaman per nation and per week for the current popolation. and something around 150 warships of diffrent size for privateerring in enemy waters. Content is not only about new shiney ships Devs, while i dont mind them Stop the powercreep, start working on more Flavor for the game, National reputation systeme would be also a nice addition and would work perfectly hand in hand with my idea, reward a player and punish another for being to lazy to protect the traderoutes, or trade by themself. Of corse balancing must be done ingame.

  7. Pedro cay, 29.09- 5.10 1716 We were hunting at pedro shallows again, then suddenly an armed trader crossed our paths, aperently unaware of my famous beard she havent changed course. So we chased her down to bugle cay. She put up a short fight, tried to fire chain into our rigging, but we countered with ballshot into her mast, and after a half hour of fighting she was demasted and we were throwing the hooks onto the ship the fight was short but bloody, after the deck calmed down me noticed an aweful smell. As we checked the storage we knew what it was, the hold was full of fish, ugh. sailed by captain oldgitt - Sir Lancelot Holland, tradersnow, escaped jake Stone, Mercury, sunk twice Crafty Hen,Traders Brigg, Captured Valorm8,T.Brigg,Captured Sir Lancelot Holland,Rattle,sunk Valorm8,snow,captured Hazzard,Cherubin,captured Noddle,Cerberus,captured Fowler1414,gunboat,captured John Oaks,Cherubin,captured 7.10 After severel engagement in pedro cay the coastguard showed up with severel rattlesnakes, gunboats and a snow, leaded by Valor m8 Me demasted and captured Valors snow, then procedded on escape, but the [Ron] guys wanted to keep me away of pedro, while they havent the cannonballs to actuel tag me properly me escaped 3 times before me tagged a group of 2 rattles and a snow, also leaded by valorm8. Me my ships, a rattle and a niagra that hs been one of the prices from a few fights ago, took the fight. While their group was focusing on me me cannons focused on their boradsides, they were going for me rigging, my mates (ai) were focusing one of the Rattles. The timner flew as me and Valor were trading broadside to boradside. sddenly scream of agony mixed with the fire of the cannos sweeped over the deck, grape, 40 crewmember were just swept away. Me were just firing a broadside to finish Valors side and he started to take watr, "get on distance me yelled but alredy to late, the wto rattles were comming near, graping me deck while valorm8 sunk to the button. every ship was heavily damaged. my mates were trying to help but to late, the grape finished my crew off, "leave the ship" me yelled. Ship got ghosted, me mateys were trying to sink the heavily damaged rattlesnakes but without chance, they escaped. i think that was a tie 8.10 Captured 5 Cherubin Frigates, of varius captains who didnt known their place or who me is, well hope they know better now. 10.10 Got attacked by a wired guy think islander was his name, Master and Comander his rank he sailed an ingermanland, after severel attempts to sink me and me escaping i took the fight with my friend Donnershock He shot chain after chain at us, most of them were dogeable, but one salvo got me canvas good but to late, making use of my 32pdr carronades to slow him down, while donnershock goes for her stern, after graping her down to 60 crew Donnershock was boarding her and took the ship as price. after severel fights we had a small fleet together, jumped on a Trinc and a renomee, but sadly reinforcement just spawned on me head:( Me secured the escape of me friends and then surrendered me ship to the enemy, sadly that i loose a ship because of a mechanic, maybe also greed. Dont get greedy then PVPing it will make you do mistakes.
  8. the problem wit hthe ingame suprise is, that she has nothing todo with the originally suprise the ingame suprise is a fnatasy ship, based on the Master and Comander suprise, but with a diffrent rigging and caliber of guns

  10. you forgot to mention that he got intercepted by pyrates everytime he tries to plant the flagg, therfor he buys the flag to plant it, no griefing, he just wants you to attack that damn port
  11. Actually, the Rattle and Renomee are corvettes, the suprise is still a light frigate
  12. and i mentioned that Historical arguments are always flawed and are failing, because there is for every historicly accurate claim an exception, like ships that were transforming troops, these could be Briggs or frigates, dosent matter, but their deck were fairly crowded, Historicly accurate simply dosent fits this game, it is not a Full Fledged Simulater, its a MMORPG with Realistic game mechanics. So try to come with an other more strong Argument then claiming historic accuracy, and if you claim, historicly accuracy then you are in nned to provide a resource, best a primarly resource. To the topic, i feel not fancy about marines, Mainly because the whole Boarding Mechanic will change to a diffrent systeme in a new instance (possible) were you can move troops and such, however i got no information if its RTS, 1st or 3rd person. Thats why the super Marine build will suffer and will be able to taken down by skill then by their 50% marines on ships. currently i run around with 10-20% marines and thats a reasonable amount, anything above that and oyu will suffer in the preboarding engagement, anything lower that number and you cant disengage of a actuel rageboarding. Iam ok with the Upgrade variant of marines, so you cant counter the Debuff of high marinecount on oyur preboarding fight. If you are using it in a slider you have 1 more slot to soften up the debuff of your marines, if this happens then you need to allow ships to actually mount a maximum tonage of guns, instead of the "best Balance" gunmount they have, most of the ships ingame could wied far higher firepower and would suffer in their sailing abilities, but would not capsize with a higher caliber onboard

  15. you were thinking here about canister, Grape is 6-9 ballshot of a low calibe housed in a basket or similer. routghly 1-3pound size of each ball depending on the gun
  16. actuel in a firefight your Ballshot would damage and remove planking, also creating holes of the size of the canonball, Also Grape, is not like a Canistershot, Grape might be able to pass through amor by itself. Just think about it like a Buckshot round, while birshot would be canisteround, the size diffrence is probelly the best explaination in that, now scale the pellets in birdshot up to musketballs, now oyu have canister, now do the same and scale up the Buckshot pellets to the size of 1-3 pound ballshot, and oyu might have an idea of the devastating firepower. Also the shipamor get thiner to the weatherdeck, but also get in some cases more sloped. this can cause that the upperdecks can be graped but the lowero nes cant. But grape would most likley not pass through 70cm of amor
  17. grapeshot of a 32 pounder, The thing ingame is grapeshot is looking like as Canister The ingame model of the round isa canistershot, and lead sometimes to misuderstanding, canistershot is a tinbucket full of musketballs, while grape is a shot that has 6-9 ballshot of a 1-3pound sized atachet together with rings. So whats the diffrence between the both Canister cant penetrate amor, Grape is designed to keep together and spread out after it penetrate the amor. Then grape is hsot, the basket will carry the Grape to the target, upon penetration and deformation the rings will get loose and the ballshots will flyout in a 20-30° cone. so inportant is to know that Grape indeed is able to punch through amor. but is that balanced, no. Nobody wants to be graped through full amor, thats why we actually shoot canister. To the thing on 1st rates and the habit of loosing a good chunk of crew, ships if the line have a huge amount ofcannons on each side, if oyu hit them with grape you achieve 5-7 crewwkills that are 250-350 crew on each side, so the issue of grape is the issue of the not exssiting crew behavior. They simply dont take cover
  18. Again, an armed weatherdeck dont have any amor, you can sweep it with grape like you sweep dust with a broom, some ships have such small amor that even musketballs would punch through. Also the Rattlesnake has alot of cannons on a low length making the holes of the cannons near together, if oyu shoot grape on a enemy cannon you are able to kill the guncrew, if oyu had mediums equipped that were 5 man per gun, 10 guns per side are 50 crew in a single salvo, aim for the weatherdeck are atlest 60 crew you can take down with a good aimed shot. Other ships have strenghts and weaknesses too, and armed weatherdeck can be a weakness in certain ocassion like in your picture.
  19. Suggestion that take away choices of a player are usually bad. Adding a 1st player experience without taking the 3rdplayer shipview would be nice thou. To open world "problem" the reason wh there is not much trade going on is that the resources are not clutterd enought, look at jamaika. Iron, coal Life Oak fir, gold silver copper, sitting door on door to each other, you sail maybe 15 mins and you are able to build a ship. BUT, with the next few patches the resources on ports will change to their historic location, means new trading hubs, but also more traders actuel sailing. creates trading routes that cant be protcted by the "coast guard" more loss and gain better for the economity
  20. there are things on a ratle i dont like, Everything overmatches her amor and the crews hitboces are glitching through the weatherceck and planking. that might be there your problem. also you are sailing the Heavy variant, this has a armed weatherdeck so its fairly easy to grape it down.
  21. Changing the current "you keep yur Exp" promise, will lead into a massive Legal problem, just look at "One Man´s Lie", theyve lost alredy 40% of the profit they have due to being sued
  22. intresting, AUSFC were playing with a ping of 300, they havent felt it as a issue
