  1. Maybe it is possible already... just press the "home" key... you can have all the different point of view you want...
  2. A little fun with music... I love this video! Gallantry and humor together!
  3. I know it is not historically accurate but I am having so much fun navigating in a Lynx listening to the March from the film The bridge on the river Kway!! Weird I know but I love band music...and this one seems appropriate for a parade in my Lynx LOL. Give it a try! Here is another one... perfect!!

  5. So sad... what happened to the helpful, respectful, fair community that started this game? One of the reasons I was impressed with this game was this forum. I started reading it even before I bought the game. Well I think that the fighting, and bickering and useless words are an inevitable passage in any community. My hope is that we will put aside our egos and start to be respectful first. Without respect for someone else ideas... there is no community at all.
  6. Agreed... it should be possible. For now I am using Steam account to make friends with players from other nations.
  7. Well... some news: we have a bottomless ocean now I went under water to check how my new ship was fending the waters and I saw it...better I did not see it!! So maybe in the future we can have a real bathymetric map as an aide to navigation and planning? Will see.
  8. It looks really nice Shrouded I am sure your clan will appreciate your efforts. I think that bathymetric lines will be useful in this map even if they are used as a delimitation of a shallow area.
  9. It is simply a matter of point of views imho. Both systems are legit: one says that you hire workers to mine your ore and allot your own time (Labour Hours) to collect; the second says that, because you already paid the workers, there is no need to use LH. I would say to keep the second one because it will "force" the players to make choices and plan ahead. Do I collect ore or I build a ship? I need to build a ship, so I will collect the ore now and build it later on... choices people, choices
  10. At first sight it looks like a complex mechanism, but I can see what you mean when you talk about the permutation among the events that could influence the city status. IMHO it is a good idea but, as all the good ideas on paper, has to be tested. My fear is that in a couple of days all the cities will go back neutral for lack of players aka lack of modifying events. i am sure you studied the system well (you created it LOL) so do you think my fear coming true is a possibility or not?
  11. LOL it reminds me a lot of some convo in the forums Funny, Admiral 8Q.
  12. Your ideas seem interesting, but when we think about improvement in the game dynamics, we always should think about one important topic: playability. Or better: the relation between realism and playability. In another post someone already proposed a change in the wind rotation (right now is constant and counter clockwise). He proposed random winds. The devs already answered that the current wind dynamic is a compromise between realism and playability. In other topics the bathymetric lines were proposed. Again, we all are sailing in few feet of water and depth are always constant. It is the best compromise right now. Proposing double maps could be fun, but as some players above mentioned, it will exposed to loopholes creating more issue than add fun to our game. A possibility would be to implement the explorer role in the game (which I would love to see). In that case some advantages in navigation can be guaranteed to the discoverer of a secret island, or who was able to visit all the ports in a sea zone (the reward could be something like 1 knot in speed in OW). Again, devs promised us something but I think it is still far away in the future. One thing I hope will be never developed: a GPS for any map. That would destroy the fun in navigation OW
  13. I would love to call my ship "Bucintoro" (Bucentaur in English). It is the Doge's ship in Venice. It was huge, beautiful and... useless but for parades LOL. Or another name would be "Lepanto" in honor of the famous battle fought in 1571.
  14. It is nice to read stories like this one. It makes me realize that, maybe, sometimes, rarely, the behavior of some players is similar to real captains. Gallantry is not impossible to find and I appreciate the effort (from players and devs alike) to build a community of people able to respect each other even if enemies. A community where enemies are not to be ridiculed, made fun of, or verbally abused. Thank you Darwin88 for sharing your story. It reinforces the hopes I have for the future of this game.

  16. Great job... it is a nice guide for new sailors. Thank you sir.
  17. The auctioning sounds like a good idea simply because the seller will reach a larger amount of people. I would say that should be possible to auction anything...

  19. I have a question about repairs in battle. Maybe it is me (maybe I do not know how to do it) or it is a problem in game mechanics after the last patch. In battle, I used repairs. Good! But when I did my repairs I couldn't take off my crew from repairing. It is me not knowing how to do it or it is a problem in the games mechanics? Any answer would be appreciated, even if just pointing at my ignorance of the game
  20. I do not think it is possible to have bathymetric charts in our OP. It seems that we all are sailing over a few feet of water Did you try to unlock the camera and go under water?
  21. I like the idea of no tags... Maybe a possible solution would be to put a warning when you aim your cannons at someone. So the ID will be immediate for the shooter and will avoid friendly fire. It is a middle of the road solution but at least it will solve the problem of realism (no name tags above the models) and will give immediate identification in battle before shooting (a captain in a real battle will know immediately if it is a friend or foe). Fight away people!
