Patch 30: General feedback

Recommended Posts

The biggest problem of this patch are the wandering forest, imo. There is no point in this, neither for the quality of life of the game or the realistic part of the game. Whe are playing an age of sails (claimed to be realistic) game not a fantasy Lord of the rings game.

Who is going to spend hours and hours looking for forest that might not be there tomorrow?

It smells of no more freeloading.  Want to get in our list?  Provide some sort of assistance.

Any time you have to attain some other player's approval, there is a risk of exclusion.  I've been very helpful to other Pirates during RVR/PVP, but that doesn't mean I'm around all the time to ask for membership in some kind of exclusive club which is administered by a player who has his own agenda or motivations.  Your statement illustrates why this is a bad idea.  Not every player does RVR.  So they are left out?  Let them eat cake!!

The wandering forests also show a total amount available so you can see how much is left. I believe the stock starts at 1 million and as people complete the missions to obtain the woods that stock will drop, so you are likely to know if you can still fill an order once you discover a forest port.

I think the bigger issue is how do you find out if an enemy port has such a forest as missions are not visible in enemy ports, so I fail to see how there forests are supposed to drive RvR as unless you have an alt in that nation you do not see the missions. There is no other indication as far as I can see to indicate such a forest exists even if you visit that port.

can you sail gustavia and Habana in a single day. Ofc everything is speeded up

Sure, but you are missing the point here, we are talking that they are depleting entire forest in a single day and growing a new one in the other extreme of the map

To deplete an entire forest in a single day will need 200 missions done if the initial stock is 1 million. with missions foe White Oak at 75k doubloons that requires 15 million Doubloons. Good luck for even an elite clan gathering that in 1 day.

On the comments about forest discoveries

Forests CAN be depleted fast if a lot of workers participate. Trees are easy to cut.
Forests grow for years but in the age of sail times with no satellites people not only could discover new resources every day,  You could discover new lands and islands

Players who complain about roaming forests are just trolling.

@admin

feedback on fire:

when on fire the ability to blow up when on fire and survival is put in the off position

has no meaning, when you are slowly or very fast shut down on hull damage and sink...

it should be possible to blow up before that is happening

perhaps an adjustment on time or we need a fire fuse upgrade to accomplish a blow up to get damage to the enemy

at this moment an enemy shot you on fire in 95% you sink before you can do damage to the enemy ...

fire should be just as dangerous to the enemy as it is for a friend or yourself.

for testing, i would recommend making fire  more epic, by reducing the time with 50% for fire shock... (when survival is put in off position)

How do we discover these resources as the only indication I have seen so far of their existence is the missions in friendly ports. In enemy ports there appears to be no indication that these resources may be available to owners of the port.

Can you also confirm if the reward is intended to be given ONLY to the mission holder or everyone in the battle?

it was confirmed. the mission holder gets enough reward to share chests between the whole grp.

Yes.

You are supposed to share with your friends. (rewards are not tuned properly and sometimes give uneven number of chests (should give even for number of participants)).

Or lets say 3 of you can take 3 missions each and do them from the same city (they should not be far from each other) this way you will get group rewards each and optimize time.

Yep that's what I figured and that's how we worked it out.

It's just that there's lot's of conflicting information from various players so thought I'd get it confirmed

When you are in port
Click on the port name in the upper left corner.

it will show the resources of available in port. and BELOW IT it will show rare woods IF they are in that port.

They actually serve s great purpos. With around 1 KK logs they are valuable for RvR.

When a top nation find out a weaker nation have a good port, they will take it. The weak nation will try defend it. Ofc they lose, if we are lucky the will try to get i back. Gives plenty PB. When the strong nation have emptiet it, they just start over with the new port. So the ansewer is PB PB PB pb

Why would a weaker nation waste its resources trying to fight PBs it can never win?

Well you have have not Got the idea what this game is abouth😀. There is 3 groups, each serving there own purpos.

Lions. Top of the food chain, High skilled. Game need those players(also make god promotion videos)

Wolf(PvP players) give nice content, needed to haveon  a war server

Avage joe(aka the prey) purpos deliver easy kill for the PvP player.

I was for a time in doubt where the game went, but for me atleast the last hotfix showed the genius of @admin.

I had my doubt where the game vent after patch 27. But think devs learned something from dlc ships. Ppl are Reading to fight and keep losing, if the ship is cheap enough(prey).

So we got insurrrance. But that was just the start. With the last hotfix it makes sence.

Prey: Will mainly build 5 rate and belov. Proberbly Oak Oak. Cheap and now easy to replace.

PvP player. Will proberbly sail bigger ship bought for combat medails. New damage model should favor them. The new RoE also make sure they can find fightes, so they should easy enough get enough marks to get ships, when they lose it to s lion ore other wolfs.

Lions. There skill will keep them on top, with the same benefits as wolfs.

So now we have s food chain of preys in small ships, easy to replace, Wolf enough easy PvP to make a Living of PvP. Lions will from time to time give a lose, but nothing they dont easy replace.

Only 2 things can break this and give problems. Not enough Prey and PvP players earn to little. So I do Think we might see 2 hot fix in the future.

5 rate and Down will be cheaper, maybe even free, so the prey have easy acces to ship, and keep getting slaughtered. Second is PvP reward will increase, so PvP player only need PvP.

But thats just my 2 cents on the development the last 6 month.
