On Steam Greenlight Community, under the search of "Naval".

Like this Sim/ Game.

There seems to be another one similar? Called "BlackWave" abit more Crew 3rd person aspect. Among other things.

Plus I am sorry to say a Dam, Sea Monster, in it.

But you, check it out and see what you think.

See Ya.

"Keep your boat afloat, with a bucket at hand" otherwise, It's hello, to "Davey Jones Locker."

Well they're using the same engine.

That doesn't make water look the same. The assets are going to be different. Makes me wonder if the asset store was used.

For example all of those below are from different projects in "Unity," but the engine doesn't make the assets, it renders them, if that makes sense.

Note the lovely default skybox xD

It will appeal to a different audience as it won't be as focused on realism and will lean toward the arcade side of the spectrum. It will also only be based around team battles without the open world/mmo aspect that NA will have.

Yea, it is nice to see the Age of Sail getting lots of attention in gaming recently though.

Reminds me of a certain mod for Mount and Blade which also has it's own green light project:

Original mad thread:

That looks interesting, Mount and Blade is such a good franchise. A new Napoleonic period mod came out recently with full single player, its pretty awesome so far.

Wow. What a great spritual successor to Sid Meier's Pirates!

It does have that feel with a bit more grit.  Ship combat though is nothing compared to this game ;)  It is a testament however to the M&B game designers that it can be modded in so many ways that it is still alive and kicking.

It certainly looks like an enjoyable game. I played Guns of Icarus after much of the hype had passed, and with some coordination it was a blast, but sadly the server population was already low and dropping. Although this game will draw a different sort of crowd than something like NA, I hope it turns out successful, seeing as good Age of Sail games have been few and hard to come by over the past decade. I see the developers have also started a kickstarter on August 3rd, ( https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2000479544/blackwake-reboot/description ) and only 8 days later, they've already quadrupled their goal. Day by day, it seems like the competition in the Age of Sail game market is growing... which may not be a bad thing.  ;)

Definitely going to get this as it looks like so much fun. The ship combat mechanics will not compare to naval actions in terms of realism of course.

I think this thread should be allowed since it is not an MMO thus does not pose a threat to Naval Action.

I thought the kickstarter had failed for this one.

They claim realism but I cannot see it happening.

That was there old one: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2000479544/blackwake-multiplayer-pirate-fps-set-in-the-age-of/posts/1076870

There new one seems to have been a success: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2000479544/blackwake-reboot

I always wonder why Naval Action didn't try crowd funding tbh.
