  1. Agree, I also really miss the storms, gave a little diversety in battles and I never had any problems hitting things in a storm. It gave that little bit of extra challenge and fun, and it sure looked awsome. Now battles feels sterile and a little bit "boring" and removal of storms is one of the reasons I decided to take a break from the game.... Hope they get added back into the game.
  2. One should be able to understand it's still alpha....
  3. Agree, and I dont want people with high ping bringing the overall server ping down. Keep the servers, I don't know what the servers can handle but im seing peaks at 1500 people almost every day on EU server, crowded enough for me:), And there could be many new players coming in when the game gets more polished....
  4. Keep the chasers please, the wind stuff should be enough to use other ships, it may be a gameplay decision, but it makes less gameplay .Because now you dont have to worry about using these things or that they get used against u depending on ships, make things eased up and less tactical.(less decisions to make in the heat of battle)
  5. Lol, and killing dozens of 'people' with cannons is ok, hunting whales is a no go, really, LMAO. Whale meat is food, excellent if I may say so, I eat whale meat once a year and it taste dilicious, I have no problem with that, killing fellow humans though that I don't fancy that much (RL).... In Norway we still hunt whales, and do so at sustainable level so we don't extint them, will keep our bellies full for years to come and our next generation will still have food on their plate. God bless our whalers
  6. I would like too see some options on what I see on the screen, like ability to remove the nametags(I like to use spyglass too see who is friend or foe, nametags takes away all the immersion), remove the map etc etc. The Ctrl-H is fine for screenshoots, but it takes away too much, so I would like to be able to customize it more....
  7. I hope they reduce that, sometimes I need small breaks in this game(toilet and other things), it's annoying to get back teleported home without a ship and loose some money or get sunk in an instance...
  8. If to nations are allied I think they should be able to join a battle instance to fight the common foe...
  9. I don't want to sail under the Sweedes, a little late for this game, Denmark- Norway fits more, and also especially considering United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway was a personal union wich ment in reality at that time Norway had already got it's own independence (1814) , we only shared Monark at the time:) I may add, the swedish king never got the popularity among Norwegians as the danish king:D, still stands today As a proud Norwegian I hope I never see that flag in NA haha
  10. proximety chat is something every online game in the world should have, a hellluva lot more immersive than proximety text chat, anyone who played Arma with task force radio mod would know:p I use teamspeak too in some games, but it just isnt the same feeling about it, but I have used it in combo with prox voice chat, e.g Arma 3. If a game has it someone will always use it, taunting the enemy or whatever, if your a good role player it could be very fun encounters:)
  11. Maybe the sun doesn't exactly rise in the east, and sets in the west, but not far away from that, atleast what I can see out of the window and using a compass, It's quite accurate, but but not exatly very precise though, i'll give you that. Today when I played I noticed ingame that the sun does what it's supposed to do:p. So I have gotten my answer. And offcourse it is just an indication and not a precise thing, but I just wondered if they had compasses in Age of sail and if not shouldn't the game reflect that in some way? I merely suggested using the sun and time of day for an indicator of what direction your sailing, the OP suggestion about the sixtant and a nav officer(doing the work for us) is more what I had in mind. I also like to add, Im in no way any expert in navigation in age of sail, nor do I know howto use a sextant in real life, only thing I know about it is that it's somthing they used for navigation in age of sail. Not really sure I want to even learn howto use it . To even go further, if we had a working sixtant and all the tools needed to calculate our position and are in deep concentration trying to navigate, that damn ship who we saw far away in the distance would already have reached us and pulled us into an instance before we even had time to do shit because of the time compression and the fast pace in the OW........ heck I almost don't have time to roll a smoke before I get into an instance by some angry Sweede haha, everytime I need to take a piss, I have to log out:p And here I go again,,,,
  12. I would like to see FLAGS in OW and a spyglass to see the flags on those ships not close enough, instead of the 'click hail feature'. I would have saved myself alot of 'hail clicks' if this was a feature and would make it easier to keep track of what goes on in the OW and 10 times more immersive:)
  13. I like this idea A little offtopic, I have a question about the sun in OW, does it always set and rise in the east? or does it do as it should rise in the east and set in the west? did they have compass in Age of sail, if not, the sun could be used for navigating too:p
  14. I don't know, I want flags and such to be in line with the real world and what existed in that era, also giving players the abilty to change these things will end up with some funny guys painting a big dick on their flag just to annoy the hell out of others , thrust me it will happen haha Some small customisation Im all in for just to have more unique ships, but I think it has to be from the devs and in line with the era and available for purchase in the harbours... But please no 'pink' ships with neon lights and all kinds of unrealistic bling bling that doesnt fit with age of sail:p E.g, being able to change the figurehead on every ship, would be nice and it will make 2 identical ships look differnent and add diversety in the visuals.. The customising things could also be bought for real money, to give the devs some income and also resources to make these small visuals, and give true supporters of the game a chance to help funding this niche game:)
  15. I would prefer a customizable setting(in the settings menu) that I can change what clutter I don't want to see on screen(most games have these options). Right now I want to be able to remove nametags(biggest immersion killer at the moment) and the wind indicator and the battle map(I like to use my eyes to get awareness of ships positions) all of wich I don't need, but I want to keep the compass, and gun controls and damage stats. So ctrl-H doesnt work for me(would be more useful if the gun controls actually worked in this mode), only use it when I don't need paying attention, like when fleeing a battle:p I don't want any names visible, but something more immersive to replace that, like the possibility to name our ships, and the names would be on the back of the ship for identification. Then the spyglass would get more use, it would be excellent to identify my fellow captains and my foes this way in the heat off battle, it would add more stuff to do during batlles too. Imagine if some guy gets really infamous in the open world and he's ship name would be on everyones lips, imagine the fear, when in battle you suddenly see that name on the back of the ship in your spyglass, I would shit my pants lol
  16. I don't know if this have been suggested or not, so I tought I could bring it up:p Would be cool to have a proximety VOICE chat in the instances, like when you close in on a ship and you get close enough so that in real life you could yell something to the other captain, you could do the same in game, the further away you get the voice gets harder to hear..... Could be nice when close to allied ships aswell, giving intructions/tactical chatting or just a friendly "hello, old dog", and very useful when someone is not paying attention and is about to ram you, you could yell something to wake up that captain who's not paying attention. But I don't want global voice chat, it would just get annoying, the text thing work ok for that.
  17. I may have a sterotypical view on how it was aboard those ships from age of sails, in an timeperiod where there was no womans rights at all and the sociaty was dominated by males, so I dunno, having female crew crashes with that view, and all the 'movies' made portraying that era:p. How it really was and how many woman served on those ships I have no idea, my brain probably is brainwashed by hollywood.
  18. It would be nice if you could put a line around where the boarders are(you know where we can't sail currently in OW). Im tired of asking in the help chat what is currently in the game, and I dont want to waste time sailing to areas I can't reach(considering Im going around this world with a speed of 3-5 knots). I like this map, missing a few ports and such but I guess it's work in progress:p
  19. I think it looks cool, I will get it for sure if it comes out . It's a totally different game than NA so it's hard to compare. The more of these sailing games the better.
  20. Ah I see, I misunderstood a little. Not sure I need this feature as Im quite happy with the current system and always plan ahead. But, ey, why not , only I would prefer the new feature too be the "hold for a few seconds" and that a quick push on the "change ammo" buttons would be as it always has been..
  21. What if I want to change ammo without fireing, then I would first have to fire at nothing first just to change ammo?. That would waste ammo(in case later there maybe limited ammo)....
  22. Yeah yeah, ok, it's a game for me too and we have different tastes for what we like in games. I want more immersion and having the health bar kills my immersion, you like the health bar, that's ok, lets agree to disagree. This whole discussion is moot anyway because as far as I know what I suggest probably never will be in the game
  23. The captain wouldn't repair shit, but he would give the order when apropriate to start doing so, but he would offcourse need feedback from the crew about he's ships health. Chain of command etc...Just the way it works now, but instead of that stupid "health bar" it would be more immersive having the crew report it with their voice... And if the damage is still low the captain may decide that he can wait with the repair and have he's crew focus on fighting instead of repairs. I just don't understand your point in this case.... Your putting to much into the my "example" dialogues, all I want is an "audio" version of the health bar, simple as that. What they might say or not in different circumstances would be up to the devs to decide, not me. Im sure they are better to come up with some "smart" dialogues for the different damages and such. And last, no, you don't have to be Lord Nelson to understand when the crew says "we got a leak captain"
  24. Yep, it was just an example I used to illustrate my idea, and that's why I ended my sentence with "or something like that"
