  2. Maybe. But yes, I am in favor of clan v clan. Granted I do see what you're worried about and would likely happen, so there needs to be a way for groups to "fight back."
  3. Agreed. This has to be done in order for it to work. Slim has said it earlier but if other clans in the same nation do not like the decision of the clan, well screw you, you can't do anything about it. There needs to be a way for clans who do not agree with other clans in a nation to fight back. Those who think this should only be a pirate mechanic are not understanding the real issue here.
  4. with the patch today and trade...I did 1 trade route for 10 minutes and got a mill. it really isn't hard.
  5. Population issues - Denmark, Dutch, Spain all could have been choices - but they do not have the playerbase to support RvR. An argument could be made that we could have gone there TO create the RvR presence, but with how forged papers being limited as is you cannot go to a nation, realize you made a wrong choice, and oops! you're stuck now. as @Serk says, going to a nation with no RvR presence or playerbase and then also not having 25 players. Because lets face it, you absolutely need 25 players to effectively RvR. You're shooting yourself and your group in the foot if you make everyone use forged papers only to see that you can't do what you want. why pirates? Because they are 1 of the big 3 on the server, because they have a playerbase that wants to PvP, to RvR, and to conduct port battles against everyone! it's the same as other groups, how can you be convinced by a nation or group that you can take part in RvR or PBs, oh but btw we don't have 25 players, and if your group came we still wouldn't have 25 players sooo we wouldn't be able to fight X, Y, Z, still. yeah no, the hype dies fast and people won't go. EDIT: basically, here's the gist, until Forged Papers becomes an item you can purchase (which it really has to be), you're best bet is to do one of 2 things 1. nothing 2. join a nation that already has a playerbase
  6. Again, i commend ARMED with all they have done. Attacking everyone - 1. making agreements of where and how much to attack (like with the danes). While it seems like they are sleeping, CCCP wakes up eventually. 2. Fighting pirates at la navasse for "biff" 3. Fighting the US with both ow pvp and port battles All this and they still find the strength to sit with such carebears in a nation who try and make it difficult to do all that. You guys are truly stalwart individuals and anytime you sink me I will be smiling as my ships goes to davy jones' locker.
  7. Why is it that the only option to attack everyone should just be pirate? VCO has been a big contributor in content and conflict on the server and with the low population we have on the server it's absolute shit to even consider making allies. Frenemies? Sure, but straight up allies? I don't need to point fingers because it's obvious as to who are the same groups who do it. It's not hard to see that when you ally then those that you ally aren't "pvp content" anymore, and it's totally fine to do that....on a server with more poulation. Groups we have on this server, because of the low population, when they make decisions drastically change what happens. When you have clans being roughly 10-15% of server pop at prime time...doing 1 thing makes the whole server notice. Clan A from nation A decides to ally nation B, if players in Nation A wanted to fight or conduct port battles, they literally can't anymore. This has never been about who likes pirates more or who is a spy or "we need this to win" crap, this is strictly because the server pop is so god damn low that alliances or neutrality pacts are just idiotic. So yes I, and I believe chrisentom (who has said it a number of times), and others here have said A GB / US hurts the game more than it helps, all nations and players should be fighting each other The apparent BLACK and danmark alliance is hurting the game and should be squandered. So I say bravo to ARMED to fighting pirates, danes, and US. That clan is fighting everyone (of active nation playerbases) and it seems like GB isn't following their valiant effort to bring life to the server. I bet if ARMED weren't so tied to GB, they would go pirate too for the absolute reason of being able to literally kill everyone. We seriously need clan v clan.

  9. go tell a group that is 10 men strong that the group that has 25 people will split up because a new faction comes around to balance nations for RvR. that 25 man group ain't going ANYWHERE when they have the ability to have a 25 man strong port battle fleet. Why in the name of everything would any group ever leave a nation in the assumption/hope that the new nation would have a port battle fleet capable of successfully defending any future port battles. This is nothing about moving people to balance nations, the absolute core issue is this: 1. In order for a group or clan to be successful in RvR, they must have 25 players to attack or defend a port from another group or clan. 2. If the group does not have 25 players, they can take Neutral towns only to then lose them to a group that does have 25 players. RvR success against other nations ties DIRECTLY to whether a group or clan has 25 players that can attack or defend. Yeah of course I know as a small group of 5 people in one nation I could probably go take a neutral port, but when that 25 man group comes and takes it, I have 5 guys, that port is lost and not point fighting. This is why the RvR issue is NOT with the nations we have or if one is bigger or smaller, the issue is that there is only one Group that is "able" to partake in Port Battles. Simple, you don't have 25 players? You aren't winning or fighting a group that does have 25 players in port battles. This is why I stress the need for different port battle size limits. 6v6, 12v12, 25v25. That is how you get nations that have small player bases, or clans who are small to both ENJOY and ACTIVELY take part in Port Battles, which in turn allows them to take part in RvR aspects.
  10. I honestly have not had more than 12 ships at a time. I just don't see how people can stock so many ships.
  11. If this is ever going to work. You need to cut the current nations in half. US, GB, France, Spain, Pirate - these will be the 5 that have a safe capital presence. But goodness gracious. We need different port battle limits before any of this - 6v6, 12v12, 25v25. Like....please? I am begging you so that clans all sizes can play...
  12. This. More nations is not the answer, allowing clan v clan would be more welcome. EDIT: the only way i see this working is that you give us the ability to purchase forged papers. If you make new nations, but don't give us the ease of moving nations back and forth, then this is going to fail.
  13. I would vote no as well. There are a lot of things that in the real world would happen that just wouldn't in Naval Action, I remember when the thought was to bring "forced surrender" because ships didn't sink as frequently as they do in the game...but that's because this is a game based on realistic age of sail fighting, not realism itself. If it was a singleplayer game I would say go right ahead though.
  14. Simple. if Clan vs Clan was allowed (Via inter nation port battle fighting) then we wouldn't have needed to move. Instead the only nation that can "fight" clans in their nation they disagree with (to a level that needs a fight to resolve) are the pirates. If you're in any other nation it's "oh you don't like what we are doing? tough titties, deal with it." We could argue about how nations are supposed to be united and blah blah, but this is a game, it doesn't work that way all the time. imagine all the extra content that can happen. Clan A and B in the US nation quibble over each other, other clans say "get a room." If tthe Admin stuck to their guns and kept with Clan V Clan, those clans would have been able to duke it out against each other's ports (OW PvP would be no go). what a thought, the Admin also proposed making it so clans owning ports could keep other clans out....anyway, seems it never came and now we are stuck with it. So next best thing? Join the Pirate nation because ironically enough, they are the most free of all limited mechanics and in the end you can fight EVERYONE. holy god what a thought, you can actually find content easier by fighting everyone. -------------------------------------- EDIT: as for suggestions - I really think the Admin needs to look into Clan V Clan options. The announcement they made of the 6th coalition or whatever dying, i have no clue what that means but i guess I'm hopelessly hoping it's something good. Imagine Nations being the "protected zones" and the ports we capture now are Clan related mostly, nations could certainly use it, but it's owned by the clan, not by the nation. Have friendly clan lists go across nations, like how it was suggested before would be bang up to (infact would we even need this with clans not really being part of nations?). Clans could control who enters ports via clan friend list AND also what nations (players who aren't part of clans) could be allowed in like the freetown crap we have now. example -- Clan [CC] Christendom's Church owns La Navasse. They have 2 Clans on their friend's list ([DI] Doom Incarnate and [HF] High Five) and allow Denmark and Dutch players access to their port. The port would allow anyone in the clans they deem friendly to enter, and any player in those 2 nations to enter. They could further add more nations (could be limited too i suppose) or make it an absolute freetown. If someone was to attack La Navasse - [CC] and the 2 friendly clans, [DI] and [HF] have full access to defending the port battle no matter what nation they originally are from. the Nations that have access to the port could be inclined to defend via Screening if they so wish, or prefer the new possible owners do to many different reasons. omg I wish for something like this.

  17. so we all complain about population going down, but you continue to be stubborn about a server merge. ok....... anyway -- I don't honestly think it's more nations, it seems our hysteria stemmed from someone saying it in the first 5 replies and from there we have really made a bang up job in creating some wild assumptions. now....it doesn't help that the Admin literally gave us no info on what's happening but I'm going to reserve any judgment until we get some real information.
  18. Agreed - I would prefer this thread focus more on Port Battles and Diplomacy updates but I understand when we all slip up and write some "forum baw (biff)" for some fun. As for the statistical data that the EU guys are doing I must say it's not for me, and in fact Global server ports are almost an exact replica of the EU server port data with respect to Santo Domingo. I'm not apt in the way of looking into the game files and API. I just don't think there is enough action and trade going on in the server to justify it. We have had what... 3 contested port battles? I mean damn son, it's time to hit ports owned by nations, not be neutrals. Also, diplomacy has been updated.
  19. you would suspect, but the "bonuses" are actually both negatives. when you but this knowledge slot on your ship, you're literally handicapping yourself by making it worse.
  20. I don't know my age of sail stuff for nations very well, maybe wrongly assumed - but maybe instead of "1st rates" just have "the best ship they ever made." I guess currently I'd want ship balancing before new ships - that being said I voted for the Dutch 3rd rate in the player ship poll.
  21. Updated Diplomacy EDIT: Updated Again Brit/US shit is complicated, for now there are both alliances and Wars between different Clans - quite interesting if I say so myself.
  22. No argument here. If i had my choice - each nation would have 1 1st rate (7 1st rates would be in the game then because pirates don't have one, they would just steal them). You would get a very nice diverse set of ships and each nation could have a prize vessel. We should keep in mind of balance though, we already have a crazy amount of "power creep" with new ships coming out (i'm looking at you Wasa).
  23. From what I heard, Legends is what small battles were, but worse. Interesting to see that somehow finally there is talk to a "thunderdome" who would have thought lol. Anyway, beside all the bantering if you want updates please post here or message me and I will update diplomacy as soon as possible. Also we need more juicy port battles and pvp engagements screenies. Please post your fights! Seriously if you guys can - encourage folks to come back and try the game. This patch has really helped players I know enjoy the game once again. The only issue left seems to be the low population, if more players came back to play, more action can take place.
