  1. I agree, but I also believe that coordination of the team wins more than just having a bigger ship, or more guns/ships.
  2. true. although on Global we have the problem where there isn't even 10 people in a Nation even with all clans in that nation "allied." Which is why I advocate for giving the option for clans to ally other clans that are in different nations.
  3. It may be different for EU but on Global starting a port battle has now become the sure fire way to get your opponent out of their ports to fight you. So it has become less about taking and owning the port ( although taking it is always nice) and more about just getting garaunteed PvP for the day. If that means a fleet of equal size comes out to screen our fleet, then all the better, it's what we came there for. I'm not saying that I don't see what you're worried about, i just don't think it will be as big as a problem as you make it out to be. I believe the thought is to allow those small clans to feel like they can successfully defend their ports they already own instead of writing it as a loss because they don't have 25 players for defense. I know a lot of ports generally are decided before they even start due to needing 25 players. If we can allow groups of varying sizes to engage in the rvr activities with varying fleet compositions to allow for more enjoyable differences that would be awesome. I believe there should also be an option to increase br. So for example, you can both increase or decrease the br limit by 25% instead of 50%.
  4. Which is why i also advocate for a ship rebalance along with this. Wasa - 250 br 3rd - 350 br Bellona - 400 br When it should honestly be more like this WITH a nerf to the ships cannon loadout (9/18/24 or 9/18/32 instead of the wasa's current 9/24/32). Wasa - 300 br 3rd - 320 br Bellona - 400 br In general though all ships need at least a quick look at them. Br changes, cannon loadout updates, and stat adjustments.
  5. I like it. Hope you get a lot of participants.
  6. They reinforcement zones should be smaller. Also after a certain rank, players should be unable to call for reinforcements. But even if these are my opinions I think overall the reinforcement zone is a good thing. I firmly believe it is better to add more bonuses and incentives to leave the safety zone then it is to make the safety zone worse.
  7. I think this is that part where you man up and say "gg gf" or am I wrong?
  8. Exactly! Hear Hear! I agree with this as well. I must continue to add that with BR limits for Port Battles, ship BR balance has to "Eventually" also happen. a wasa, connie, aggie, and inger may all be 250 BR, but we all know that the Wasa smokes the other 3 (arguably) right now. So I don't know how long it would take, but we do also eventually need a ship re-balance and a BR re-balance. Finally, @admin Will Ports have different BR limits or will they all be the same? I know it would be extra work, but I strongly recommend that you have ports with different BR Limits to make it so every port is a different experience (or at the very least there are "a lot" of different types of battles). There should definitely still be fights where a clan can have 25 lineships, but there should also be options (like your example) of BR limits 2,500 so that we have smaller battles as well. Thank you for now considering this for a mechanic in the game, it will help smaller clans (and if alliances come in that also helps) as well as allowing larger clans to enjoy varied fleets.
  9. the reward used to be a "big thing" and made a interesting advantage, but now that we can make combat marks more easily the reward is just that, a reward, a small bonus. I honestly think it should be that way, it shouldn't be a "win once, win forever" item. But yes....Paints would be nice to have back! but as far as I remember, the Admins did say they don't plan to bring them back until the game is nearly finished for release. I'd pay for paints for sure though.
  10. I for one find this decision to be a sour reality for all the water fowl and fish. Where will they hang out? What food scraps will they eat now? An utter catastrophe if you ask me.
  11. Was a very fun fight...but also rather weird when i took the bowsprit off of francau's ocean, we touched and "boom" our ships jolted a bit and suddenly we both had 0 hps on 1 side of our ships. Pretty much changed how i had to sail and fight for the rest of the time in the battle. Respect to the players that come out to fight and a special respect to ARMED for always fighting. This was a true brawl and I honestly believe if 1 or 2 things were different for 1 minute in the battle, the outcome would have completely changed. I don't know about others, but I could literally see the tug-of-war back and forth for points and there were definitely 2 to 3 points in the battle that were nail biters for each side. A true battle of attrition.
  12. Updated Diplomacy 1. Dutch - are on the rise of taking ports, but as to who they may plan to fight - no one has said a peep about being killed by the Dutch yet, so until that happens I have placed them to be "Neutral." Honestly haven't heard from any Dutch players on their plans. 2. Britain and US - diplomacy both changed back to clan agreements and OW conflict. The "Alliance" they have seems to only be a minority and reports form others show it isn't really a true alliance. 3. Pirates - remain in the most conflict with other nations 4. Spain - I've talked to some players and it seems they are taking a back burner to RvR and when they play, decide to aim for OW PvP 5. Denmark - apart from their normal "conquest" in taking ports next to their capital, I really haven't seen anything from them to suggest large activity, although I do know a number play. The limited conflict with the ARMED clan still goes, but either I'm blind or danes haven't been trying to take the ports. 6. Swedes - Surprisingly active, color me surprised. On a Diplomatic note though they haven't made any moves to cause conflict with others. They just seem to be slowly growing. 7. France - Having previously been in France I keep in touch with a few who still play. a couple are fighting pirates, a couple are in New Orleans, and a couple are around FR. Apart from OW PvP there isn't much going on.
  13. On top of this, it seems the Devs are keen on either making ports have different BR limits, a couple Br limit options, or just a flat BR limit for each type. I am more hopeful that, while it would take longer, each port can have a different BR limit...or at the very least have a wide range of Br limits (like 10 or 15) that would make almost every port on the map unique in strategy and the ships you see. It goes back to needing a BR update for almost all ships though, that's the key.
  14. I...have no clue how it doesn't make sense to you. with a BR limit you now have to go to the drawing board and with your group say "Hey, what should our fleet composition be like? Should we have 10 1st rates? 20 3rd rates? or a mix of lineships and 5th rates for some balance?" "Oh idk, we should scout or expect x, y, or z from our enemy." "ok, so if they are bringing 'this' what should we bring." the layer of strategy now gets exponentially better. EDIT: Think of all the ships that are basically never used - think of the 3rd rate, outclassed entirely by the bellona, but when you look at BR, the 3rd rate is 350 (325? someone correct me if I'm wrong) and the Bellona is 400. suddenly the 3rd rate possibly has a use. Suddenly battles aren't just the following lineship - Ocean/Victory 4th - Wasa shallow - Hvy Rattler suddenly you have all the ships we have in the game at our disposal and there are possibilities to use all of them.
  15. I'm in heaven. although I do wish to see possible variation in BR limits for Port Battles! with BR variation you could make all ports "all different" so some deep water ports hold more 1st rates or some are more 4th/5th rate focused. omg, please let it be so.
  16. I really like, I think to make it "easier." You should have maybe...say....3 predefined port battle limits for each port. so a "Lineship Port Battle" can now have a BR limit of say 13,500 -- 10,000 -- 6,500 (I'm throwing numbers out there). Lineship - 13,500 -- 10,000 -- 6,500 4th Rate - 5,500 -- 4,000 -- 2,500 Something roughly like this, so groups can still have there "25 v 25" 1st rates, or you could have smaller batches? Or would that get too complicated? Maybe so...idk, but BR limits for PB based on Clan v Clan is awesome.
  17. I heavily agree with this. currently BR doesn't mean jack, but if we do enter a BR limit to port battle, BR becomes an important balancing factor. I would strongly wish for Ship balance, or if not ship balance, then with a BR limit to Port Battles you NEED a BR balance.
  18. I think it may be an issue as you say - But as others have said, This is better than not having it at all. This will allow for clans in Nations with smaller population to ally up with others to be able to play with the "big boys." EDIT: this would still cause a problem where if a clan was in a nation "fighting against" the "home" nation (other clans in the same nation) in port battles, there is no way for those clans to "fight" that clan or take their ports back...unless you figure outside help I suppose.
  19. that's pretty cool, if clans can create their own BR limits for their port battles that could be the factor in limiting ship and player sizes!
  20. honestly this reminds me of what Albion online has, where each player can own their own "island" basically a place where they can do personal crafting and whatnot. As for Naval Action, I do not think it has a place here and I'm not sure how it would work.
  21. It's been suggested a number of times in the patch thread and suggestion forum area on subjects of "how to make more port ownership options and perks." I know that most, if not all of us would like more customization and abilities to make our ports be more of our "home." I believe one though was to be able to upgrade forts and towers, it would increase the maintenance cost, but you would have better defense and all that jazz.
  22. If the large moves to the pirate nation to fight previous clans that were in your respective nation "and could not fight because of that" aren't seen as a reaaon to bring clan wars and clan alliances in the game right now, then i got nothing. I hear on EU, you had a movement from the british nation and the denmark nation switch to pirate to attack their former nation. Both groups seem to have largely been part of the previous nation's rvr presence and had disagreements with others within those said nations. If clan wars and clan alliances was a thing, they wouldn't probably have needed to move (in my opinion). Instead you could create port battles against other clans in the same nation, or have alliances with clans in different nations, creating your own blocs and weird dynamics. I see it working 2 ways 1. Make it so clans can only create port battles against their own nation (no ow pvp) 2. Clans are not limited to their natiom and can OW pvp any other clan but CANNOT ow pvp "un-clanned" players in the same nation.
