  1. Oh, i missed mount part lol. But yeah very nice indeed, i guess if we can't have the modular system for the hulls, my suggestion above would be the next best thing really. Also beam and draft configuration also very nice so we can make thicc short stubby boags or long thin ones if we want too, although i suspect that will come in alpha 13 or maybe 14 as they need to finish off core patch 1 and any inevitable bugs, hotfixes and glitches they will need to go through. But yeah very, very nice indeed!
  2. Ok so now we are getting the ability to ignore snap points, as mentioned in the alpha 11 reveal thread, we should be able to configure the draft and beam of ships. Also it would be pretty cool if ship parts could be split up so maybe towers are split into 3 sections, the tower block itself, the superstructure and any masts or whatever this could be for more complex ships later on. A gun designer, shell designer and Turret designer would also be pretty cool to have as well, would really give the game a huge adv over its competitors in terms of free design.
  3. Excellent, if ya have to go through more of the modern ships thats fine. Also seeing the difficulty getting revised is good as well, I think having configurable draft and beam would make the designer much better and allow us to further make more unique ships as well historically accurate or just plain bonkers lol. Also noice to hear casemate flexibility, will allow us to create ships like omaha in the future as well. Very excited for this patch nevermind core patch 1, but please do take your time don't think you need to rush any of this. and i finally get to make miss monarch too! 'w'/

  5. Hopefully we see a armour rework, along with internal pieces too and a gunnery system based less on RNG as well. And more of the old ladies of course. Otherwise its a good step regardless, we still have the core patch as well to come out soon after this one. Makes me wonder what we will see there.
  6. @Nick ThomadisSorry to bug you, but i also like to know if the old ladies will be making any appearances from 1875-1900? Maybe 1-3 hulls per patch or something?
  7. Me thinks we will see a fat load of german hulls next, dunno which other nations might get paired up with germany. Maybe italy and austria-hungary? Also nice too see some old ladies appear as well.

  9. Yay, wasnt expecting a patch before the first core patch. Very noice too see new british hulls but also the old ladies getting some appearance, hope we can see more in that department as well. Like the fact that we can effectively ignore the snap points essentially a good step in my opinion, although i hope the modular design case is still viable for designing ships with even if the AI has to use the legacy version.   10. Yeah, we could defo do with more unique models and pieces not only to make ships more historically accurate, but also too allow for a greater visual variety as well.

Ok lads, been doin a lot of work (IRL and 3d modelling) recently, with another two brand new ships and some major fixes on miss hitachi (i measured her at 625 metres in blender! and the yammy model was over 400 metres lol). Either way here is an italian Supercruiser the armando diaz the six images will show the progression of the ship from when i started on friday till late saturday. Enjoy and remember feel free to post yer own creations. 'w'/

They should increase the distance to about 40km, for more modern engagements as guns could reach pretty far by then, plus we wouldn't need some guns to have their ranges artificially reduced as well. If they are going to do a tactical map, going for the supreme commander route would in my opinion be the best way to do it really.
  13. Time to predict when alpha 11 will arrive lads, as we have stabbed and shot alpha 10 to death now. Achshuly jingles i reckon it will be in the next 3 weeks. -wo
  14. Ye, we could get specials admirals as mere captains when they first start out and their portraits go through 4-5 phases to show how old they are getting basically. And like in real life will get bonuses to what they were good at as the progress or if going alt-history maybe they will go down other routes. Captains and admirals could deviate to different areas of naval expertise and provide maybe small bonuses as long as certain conditions are maybe met and if they die the crew suffers a large amount of morale loss (or boost is the officer in question was hated) and continues unless some other officer takes over whos less liked or more liked and stable enough to keep the crew together. Plus effects when the flagship dies as well.

Ye its vital that UA:DS designer re done essentially, otherwise we just get another war of the seas which isnt bad per se, but isnt what i paid for initially, im sure nick knows this and they are doing what they can, but the designer is the first major and core mechanic you engage with before any other mechanic. Because of this its important that it is fleshed out better so not only is campaign better, but so is the game overall. Not too mention it will be important for modding since then me and other 3D moddlers can then add in a ton of models for peeps to mess around with and interact with creating some truely bizzare, gorgeous and interesting ship designs. The campaign is important, but i would say that the Designer comes near to the top along with mods and custom battles. With campaign, pre-battle editors and also a proper tactical map that has the edge of a table on the outside (to give it a admirals prespective sort of).
  18. Trying to get those bloody muzzle flashes to animate, but yeah ill be adding moar details to those, these are the type 106 32mm duals from miss hitachi.
  19. Although i hope we get the ability to assign guns into groups etc (not during battle but pre-battle as that makes more sense) and then we can use whatever customizable hotkey to assign the different groups of each gun type to target different targets simultaneously.
  20. I wonder if they will add the ability for something like main guns to have their own individual targets. Secondaries would probs be a bit much really, unless we could assign half on one and half on another for simplification.
  21. Thonks, i also just finished her anchors. Im doing the plane crane at the back atm, probs do a few more walkways and some more fencing and then finish off with the improved 32mm's and more decorated 75mm guns as well.
  22. Im assuming a different mark is a more advanced version of the same gun and more efficient, depending on what that actually does i have no clue. Like different iterations or versions with more things added and previous things improved/changed/replaced.
  23. Well been awhile since i've posted, kinda getting burnt out with modelling again. But i managed to do some moar work. Ill finish off her anchors, replace her 32mm's with some ones that i added moar details on and better 75mm's, along with rigging and a few more fences, smoll lights and whatever else thats needed.
