  1. Also i forgot to mention, we may see this occur during this year as i doubt game-labs is happy with the current iteration entirely. Seems to be prototyping atm, advanced but still prototyping.
  2. Im not sure if the barrels are, they are probs just an object generator so a empty child is put into the barrels and the projectile 'fires' when certain conditions are met. I could be wrong however, i know the barrels are animated, but the way the shells act it seems like they are calculated as separate objects from start to finish, which if a new parameter was added in like different shot types, we might see more consistent shell patterns idk. But the system seems pretty basic, we need rangefinding, predictions and co-ordinates to make it more realistic than what it is atm. I guess it's ok for now, but they could update the system later on. Too be fair without the source code we can only guess really.
  3. Yeah i agree with that, Also means we can keep things consistent as we might miss key info on the ship and won't be able to replicate the same scenario especially once the game gets more things added to it over the next months and few years from now.
  4. Hopefully, it should be added as it will help with replayability in general.

Ye tried to explain that in the alpha 10 thread, guess i didn't write it properly (that maybe reading fail idk), especially when you have two pre-dreads about between 1-4km and you see both shells land either side of the other ship as if the guns were pointing in those directions despite the barrels pointing straight ahead. Which shows the shells themselves aren't simulated, but generated individually based on loads of random calculations with in set ranges of each calculation. So we need a proper gunnery system even if it is basic, moving away from RNG is always a good thing.

  8. I agree as game on a whole, but disagree when comparing the features the game has. I know its bare bones, but i really do like the game and the devs can just use the stuff we chuck on here as suggestions or fat christmas list (or both). True, actually when i first arrived in october 2019, i was genuinely surprised by its quality. Also the covid stufff didn't help nor did the internal problems which im pretty sure delayed everything. Too be fair i have little optimism for the games industry due to the many times it's churned out horrible games or most of all horrible business practices. Still Nick does obviously care, i know he can't fit everything in, but he could still pick the more relevant stuff and things they can do well. Thonks, even if they can't add any of that stuff in, i hope we get good mod support as this will take some of the load of them in the future. Or release some of the features later down the line, but with this roadmap i'm actually impatient now for alpha 11 lol. Too be fair ill be surprised if they hit every target in one year considering the work and how fickle games design is. I just also want to make my shipfu's or slam in my own models at some point. Also i don't want it too be like the forest, great game, but little mod support. Im glad they improved the bug report tool as it was weird not being able to send in images of bugs.
  9. Besides the point, if there are fundamental issues with the game, they need to be sorted out regardless. We pick out these issues to solve as we believe this will make the game either much more enjoyable, much more complete and/or increase the games reputation which is vital for it too make more money than it normally would. Also when your competitors have stuff that you don't, then you are shooting yourself in the foot. Also the game left pre-alpha at around the end of 2019. The other stuff like hulls, better weather systems etc are just niceties something that would be nice too have but if the devs can add it then fair enough. But when games like world of warships have things like a better gunnery system and x-ray armour viewers or war on the seas have proper internal damage systems and the ability for turrets to fire individually then thats when the devs need to be notified otherwise, memes about this game having a shoddier gunnery system than wows would be sad to be fair. At the end of the day everyone on here wants the game to succeed and the devs too, personally i want a far more customizable ship designer, improved gunnery system (not sim like, just far less reliant on RNG), more QoL stuff, hulls, guns, models, proper ship library for ships and names, along with a tactical map and pre-battle formation maker and a post battle leaderboard. Then ill be pretty chuffed, especially if the first thing and the last five things are added in as hulls and guns etc will be added in anyways. The game still have a long way to go to be fair, but that doesn't mean we should offer suggestions, otherwise whats the point? We are alpha testers, lets test the game shall we?
  10. Yes, defo. We need things like Single shot, double shot, 1-2, one-by-one, half salvo, quarter salvo etc.
  11. Ye, some of the core stuff needs to be addressed and some other things should be added in, but if the devs can't do some or most of it then hopefully mods should be able to fill in the gaps.
  12. Hopefully we can get some Hard modding features and access to source or failing that core script files to edit the various parameters of the game, to make it more realistic and/or arcadey if needed. Or if unable to do this maybe some soft coding with a bit of hard coding as well.
  13. Ye we could do with a tactical map too be fair and maybe a pre-battle formation maker as well for all modes if possible (before campaign as well if possible) would add some moar depth to dah game. 'w'
  14. Ye thats what im hoping for, atm it seems each shell is calculated individually but not as a whole salvo at least from how they act in game. Thats where you get the weird cross eye shot (lol) or the attempts to fire at the moon for some reason. Otherwise what are peeps general concessions about gunnery atm besides the weird short range dispersion issues.
  15. Also, dispersion still needs working on as well. How guns work in terms of dispersion especially at close range is iffy since you still get the whole shells going wide as a barn problem which needs to be addressed to be fair. I know its to make the guns more inaccurate, but at less than 8km range most shells are going to be hitting regardless of the targets speed and i guess while size will factor into things it shouldn't decrease accuracy by that much too be fair. Movement will and should still interfere, but still.
  16. oh yeah does anyone know any websites where you can embed non-youtube videos? I rendered two animations for hitachi's 32mm LAA turrets, but i has no clue what to use.
  17. Also the issue regarding ships in formations especially with 3 or more needs to be addressed as the last ship sometimes doesn't reach the same speed as others, this seems to be more common with slower ships I.E capital ships. So that bug will need to be addressed.
  18. I wonder if this means the devs will bring out UK and German hulls first, before other nations? Or will they simply do a random pick atm? Don't mind either way, but wouldn't be surprised with the former (any ship added is gud ship).
  19. I love how the mode looks, but oof riveting is just bad engineering wise. Still looks very nice regardless and clearly alot of effort put into the model alone.

  21. Ye, also been working on her some more today. She will probs be the 15th model i upload to sketchfab after my castle, since with hitachi i want to do some smoke, sea and animations with her as well.

  23. Also with the challenge, done ill have more time to focus on ships, although i will be doing other projects as well to build me portfolio up.
  24. Hoi lads, im bak with miss hitachi. I did a few more things on her, will tidy up various areas and restructure some parts of the mesh along with adding all the missing components etc. Also did a comparison with miss yamato. enjoy!
