Merchant Raiding
van der Clam replied to GeneralPas's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
There should be a mechanic so that when we board someone we have the option to take their loot, but also an option to release the ship and captain. It happened in IRL, rarely, but it did happen. -
@Teutonic Always good fun fighting BORK. Good bunch of fellas, and always a good fight. I nearly sank twice in my little Prince. I was happy to finally not sink because of a BORK. heh. GG and cya at the next one.

[WTF] CptTrojan gaming BR mechanics by joining opposing side.
van der Clam replied to a topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
This I agree with. Clanmates should be required to join same side, but not other rats clans. -
This is why I want these Cargo Delivery Missions to be tied to the ports we capture, and be required to keep these ports. The changes I propose are: First, make ports have a level of demand for Cargo Delivery Missions Say Regional Capitals would demand 5-10 CDMs per week be delivered to them or they revolt Say smaller ports would demand 2-5 CDMs per week or they revolt The number of CDMs would be based on the number of Investments at that port (i.e. Forts, Towers, Production Buildings, Clan Warehouses, etc.) The Port Owner is the one responsible for fulfilling these CDMs, but based on Clan Friend List those clans can help On making Cargo Delivery Missions required to keep captured ports Make availability of each CDM last for only 5 days or 1 week...something short, but if not taken, then it resets for the next week (kind of like the Weekly Challenges reset) If too many CDMs are ignored and not delivered (say 45% or so for that week), then those ports could revolt and return to Neutral by virtue of an open-to-all-nations PB Weekly required CDMs from Nation's Capital to Regional Capitals For nations that don't have a National Capital, they must find Cargo Missions in Free Ports or Raid for them (stealing CDMs from other ports) CDMs from Regional Capitals to smaller ports (if that smaller port is captured already) These listed above would be required to keep these ports; below are the profitable ones Have Cargo Delivery Missions from smaller ports back to Regional Capital and to Nation Capital These CDMs would be available ONLY if the port has been receiving supply shipments regularly These CDMs would also be demanded by the Regional Capitals and could revolt These CDMs would be loaded with what the port naturally produces And lastly, these CDMs would have the option to deliver them to other Nation ports from a list of ports wanting these items..these would be the most profitable CDMs

IMO the Connie is a 4th rate, the USS might be a 3rd rate, and the Cerb and Endy do not belong in the same rate class. The devs stated that these rates are not historical, which I would guess means the in game rate system is almost like tiers. However, they would have to make the 5th rates have like a 5B rate for Light (or Early) Frigs and a 5A rate for Heavy (or Late) Frigs. Rate 5B = BR 100-220 Rate 5A = BR 220-280 or leave room for future ships Rate 5C = BR 100-160 Rate 5B = BR 160-220 Rate 5A = BR 220-280 4th and 3rd rates could be split up into 2 BR ratings also. Of course, this would require all Missions to be broader than just 5th Rate Weekly or 4th Rate Kill Missions.

I always thought the image was of a Frigate. heh

What "fixes" are needed? Something you want changed to suit you? I mean, ya, I'd like less land sprites sticking way out at some ports, I'd like econ to be more viable and I'd also like captured ports to require daily or weekly deliveries of resources. But if there isn't a bug, then it's not broken. The Ai always gets in the way. If they bring back Aggressive NPC, we should be able to control them if we outrank them. - Moderation team is present. Use report function. Is better than @ function - the Moderation team

IMO, NPC Aggression should occur ONLY in Capital and Regional Capital zones for defense only. And please make Raids viable for solo and small clans. And make it so when the raid is successful that the loot we steal come directly from the enemy's resource buildings and warehouses and that the loot amount will be selectable. Say we hit a port with a Tree Farm and Iron Mine, give us a slider bar to adjust how much of the loot we wish to take based on our hold size of all ships in our fleet. (Do this for Sunken Treasure too, please.) Also, the "Massive Painter DLC should be combined with the current Painter DLC. Anyone who bought that already expected a heck of a lot more paints than there currently is; so they deserve to automatically get this DLC included. And please, let us see your planned ROE update for the Patrol Zone, before you throw it on us. Same with the Crew Experience you have planned. GL devs, hope it goes well.

DLC ships and port bonuses
van der Clam replied to Spaccavento's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Don't pay for the DLC and then see what the reward is for not being able to 1-click an insta-ship. Yes, it is a reward. And your analogy is just silly. No one forced you to buy the DLC. -
DLC ships and port bonuses
van der Clam replied to Spaccavento's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
You never were penalized; you were rewarded with a 1-click insta-ship in any wood combo you want. Why should you be double-rewarded for also getting the hard to craft, time consuming building upgraded, port bonuses also? People who craft ships care. And a Herculese has more guns, better sailing profile, more bow chasers, can hold more of the highest caliber carronades than almost all regular ships of the same size (Only the Surprise is better at gun loadout, but since no mods work for its masts it is completely useless), and the La Req has the all the same plus more crew. And both are redeemable in an instant. How much more double and triple and quintuple reward do DLC have to be? It's insane. DLC should never be anything but a convenience, not a p2w. -

van der Clam replied to Spaccavento's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Aye, but also, the remaining players will probably buy more DLCs. -
When there were Outlaw Battles, I was a US player and no other nation could join a Rat v Rat battle. If Rat v Rat Outlaw comes back, I feel that any nation should be able to join either side of that battle. The dirty SORRY Rats used to hide in those Outlaw battles all the time after they'd gank us and then hide from revenge ganks. I remember there being Green on Green for all nations, and ppl would automatically be switched to rats if they attacked their own nation. So the devs fixed that and made it only for rats. And that was just exploit hiding all day long. This is why I say other nations should be able to join on either side.

DLC ships and port bonuses
van der Clam replied to Spaccavento's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Welp, sounds now like all clans should have a financier and provide all members with DLC ships. No point in building tree farms, nor upgrading any Shipbuilding ports. P2W for everyone! Woot! -
Outlaw Battles only if other nations can join either side. #BringBackOutlaws

Magazine Module question
van der Clam replied to FKL 1982's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
Some ships are known to be located directly under main mast, some are under rear mast. Some people know where they are on all ships and how to start fires with one broadside... right, Ram Dinark? heh -
Are we really allowed to schedule when other nations can attack us? Then I schedule no attacks from other nations out of La Tortue for at least another month. Thank you.

Yet another map: Naval Action map
van der Clam replied to Felix Victor's topic in Maps - Development forum
I hate to ask this, but where are people getting images of Fort and Tower locations for each port? I thought it'd be a on this map in a drop-down menu somewhere. 😕- 1,326 replies

I really don't think there were half the rat numbers vs the Dutch. The Dutch had 2 huge and high BR screening fleets that we came across....all from only 2 clans. The other huge Dutch clans never even showed that I saw. Rats had 1 PB fleet that scored the win and 1 screen fleet that got completely obliterated. I'm surprised a Dutch player hasn't posted those pix yet. We'd be able to see actual numbers.
