  1. Wasa is fast and maneuverable so might out run a 1st rate. But 1st rates got a speed buff, I thought....like the Santi. But what's the pen factor vs a 1st rate? I've watched 1 single Russian L'Ocean take on 4 Wasa with ease, barely taking any damage at all. So 1 to 4 ratio is a pretty steep climb.
  2. Set the PB BR to 1000 and I bet ppl will bring one 1st rate and something else. Set the BR to 5000 and I bet ppl will bring 5 1st rates and something else. Set it to 15000 and ppl will bring 16 1st rates and something else. Where is the variety in that plan? And having junk 1st rates is not the same as having perfect built 1st rates made of iron. But at least it gives a better chance than being stuck in low rates against iron built 1st rates. And it's better than being in an empty knowledge slot 1st rate because every time you go to a PB with one it sinks, so you never get experience to unlock it. I still think the best way to force variety in PBs is to make each port have a BR per Rate mechanic.
  3. Looks like you will have 360+ degree cannon rotation.
  4. Looks like @Hethwill just called out for VSC to attack a BL4CK port for a showdown? I hope someone streams it.
  5. Surely, this question is rhetorical. #altluls
  6. Ya...not only that, how about the 400 we have to deliver to them, yet they have only 20 firing at one time...
  7. The PZ is small. Most fleets sail together...close enough for them to all join within the 2 minutes. The huge ganking in PZ usually happened because a most groups are 3-5 captains, while 1 or 2 groups are 10+ captains. And then exactly as @huliotkd said, anyone else joining will never join the lower side, but rather the larger side. Mainly because of the odds of survival. Basically, a small PZ means small groups sail close enough for 2 minutes.
  8. No one would be such a hello kitty to do this. And, if @admin wants, when you announce it's an alt raid, there is the proof of using alts in a manner unintended for the game. Which means we will see a lot more Indiamans on the seas Same answer to redii above. Announce it's an alt raid and viola there's punishable proof...if admin so chooses. Consider making an announcement now that alt raiding is forbidden? Can't wait for the raids to affect the port owner and anyone with buildings there. But let's test away.
  9. Yes please. I think most of us thought raids were intended for PvP raids to just steal resources and such, not flip ports. And I think most of us thought the NPC port flips would not be related to NPC raids, but simply just revolts via NPC Port Battles. However, this will be interesting to see....especially see which nations actually have the population. Which on population...is this including all the dead accounts of players not returning to game, or just those active in the last month or since release?
  10. It was brought up years ago. And I have no clue about BL4CK's operations. I don't talk with them and this had nothing to do with them no any clan in particular. I was just surprised af to see 1st rates still can flip shallow ports. Makes no sense to me.
  11. True, to which I would suggest my footnote option of applying the penalty to the BR of the ship used, rather than by rate. The benefit is the longer a hostility order takes, the longer time we have to find the mission and interrupt it. As it is now, insta-flip is awful. There literally is zero defense against hostility missions for shallow ports....which in turn means zero pvp as well. Of course, ppl will say you can insta-flip if you have enough ppl in multiple orders at the same time. But kudos to them for having the population to do so. Zergs will zerg anyway...unless there is some penalty they get for "over-population" or something. Also, how long would an order take if the max number of hostility points you got using a 1st rate were no more (but actually less) as you would get for using a Surprise? TLDR; making hostility orders take longer will provide more time to defend ports and create more pvp in that area. (Otherwise, just remove the Combat News warning, as it is completely useless.)
  12. So the best way, imo, is to make the hostility per minute change on all hostility orders somehow. Maybe there should be a penalty for using a larger ship than the port can handle....like the XP penalty for using a larger ship than your enemy. For Shallow Ports using the following rates would lower your hostility point gain as such: 7th rates - 6th rates = no penalty 5th rates = minus 20% hostility points 4th rates = -30% hp 3rd rates = -45 % hp 2nd rates = -60 % hp 1st rates = -75% hp Somehow on shallow ports the hostility points gained using larger ships should EQUAL the same as using shallow water ships....(or just barely be more). Or, better yet, tie this penalty to the BR of the ship....the higher the BR, the lower the HP gain.
  13. @admin @Ink I'm still confused as to why 1st rates are allowed to raise hostility against a shallow port. This should've been changed like a long time ago.
  14. I changed my language file to Squad and Squadron....and change Enemy Player to Enemy Captain.
  15. Of course not. But I wouldn't ransom the port to an entire nation either. I wouldn't have abandoned my nation yet kept a port with alts or "friends". I wouldn't have jumped onto a retard zergwagon once I started losing a little. I wouldn't dismantle a port just to be a dick to an entire nation. And I wouldn't hello kittying lie that SNACH never offered shit, because we most certainly did. We even offered AFTER it was all built up they way you guys wanted it.
  16. Are you talking like a draft wind from NASCAR? Ideally, imo, we would see different ripples on the waves and could sail toward them, then once we get over the ripples we'd "catch the wind" and a streamer on a mast would blow harder, or the sails would be more full. If ppl need an indicator, you could have a "draft gauge" under your ship icon like they do in NASCAR.
  17. You cannot bitch about ppl not helping build a port up when VCO refused to accept help because you want to control what gets invested in. SNACH offered a shit ton of tools, medals and bls, but no one took them from me. Maybe you guys did from our diplos, which I will find out, but so many of us offered the supplies needed. But faith in VCO broke when they jumped the zzergwagon and ransomed the port. Enjoy zerg stomping all the little guys.
  18. I've been confused by this as well. I think it has something to do with enemy waters, but I'm not completely sure. Sometimes, I have the burst of speed, but sometimes I do not; I just haven't paid attention enough as to when and where I am when it happens. Make sure you are pressing W before Open World loads, so that your sails are full once it does load. Client / host sync can cause the burst of speed to not be present if you are lagging a bit.
  19. Wait, are you saying that the first 2-3 wind changes are always the same? Meaning, IF it rotates clockwise, then you know the other 2 wind changes? Likewise, IF it rotates counter-clockwise you will know the next 2 wind changes? I would hope it is completely randomized.
  20. First off, my "moan" was a news announcement and warning to the Caribbean about a failed deal. Second, I never said I'm on BL4CK side. FFS, we have always had issues with them...especially when they purposely drag us into battles with shit enemy tags while we were unprepared headed back to port already beat up from a previous fight. Not only that, we have never received help from them in OW...even watched them sail right on by a serious battled we were in. And I even stated that if we are still on the VCO friend list as we have them on our list, then we are obligated to defend Nuevitas.....which we always have. (Yet, I was out on vaca during the last attack.) We will continue to defend Nuevitas every time too. However, if ship bonuses at Nuevitas have been reduced, then there is no point in using that port any more and no need to defend it, but rather let it go to another nation and take it back. That is only logical, because building ships with low bonuses is illogical.
  21. Not really sure where your reading comprehension determined I was moaning. SNACH was at every PB for at least screening at almost every PB the rats ever had...up until someone gave Islamorada away to the Dutch. And then when we were left alone except with JACKS and a tiny handful of others to defend Remedios from a massive Spanish-Russian fleet that no one screened for, ya, it kind of put many people on a holding pattern. The final straw for nearly every rat was watching during this time VCO jump the Russian zergwagon. But the camel's back broke with a rotten Russian deal over Cap-Francais....SNACH's fault, no one else's. So, as a few very boisterous people keep spamming on the forums...why play a game that they call broken? We still play, just doing other things. Not sure if clanmates were able to make it to defend Nuevitas, but I was on vaca 2 weeks.
  22. Oh oh oh....EVERYONE knows the history of pirates on PvP2 server, as we were all seeing it happen live....even while being in different nations. As Simon said...shit didn't hit the fan until more than half of VCO jumped the Russian bandwagon finally showing their true loyalties. Again, why should any pirate defend a dismantled port. As far as I've seen posted, the port bonuses are so low there that they're useless now. And if any clan has been removed from their friend list, what's the point of them helping. IF, however, bonuses are normal and friend lists are still the same, then of course....anyone benefiting from the port is obligated to defend it.
  23. I don't get it. Why defend a port that is being held for ransom and dismantled if not paid. I would suggest pirate objective to get a nation to take it to take it back from them. Or is VCO not planning to dismantle it any more?
