  1. How about limiting the larger nations simply by reducing their production rates of resources at ports instead of making unforseeable adjustments to crew replenishment?
  2. yes, we want to have the feeling that we need to SURVIVE a storm. a natural enemy that even threatens the largest ships, a preditor no one can feel safe from! no risk, no fun!! you cannot grind in a storm, in a storm you can only loose, nobody wins anything, there are 100 reasons to avoid a storm! but you wanna create an immersive game? put in things that everyone is scared off! make life at sea as dangerous as you can, and make reaching the safety of the port like you completed a mission!!
  3. A more cheat-like feature than the health bar is seeing how many cannons are loaded! how on earth would a captain know??? -- without having hacked the enemies ship cannon monitoring software ofc
  4. How about solo missions in own territory and fleet missions close to other nations' ports?
  5. The ship delivery should be possible. Why? because it already is: simply hijack a trader cutter with your current ship, then swap ship and send your current ship to the desired outpost. it is already possible... so why make it more complicated than it has to be?
  6. why not implement a feature like treasure hunt (sort of like exploration like in eve online)? this should be a risky undertaking but risk=fun (like gambling) which would only be profitable to do as solo players. also this would make it reasonable to go solo player hunting alone, cause you would specialize in hunting treasure hunters. if this idea is interesting we could think about how this treasure hunting feature could look like in practise, what do you guys think?
  7. don't know if this has been posted before, but how about putting a feature in the game that uses signal flags to use certain commands for the whole fleet? e.g. signal "follow flag ship in a line" and then everyone accepting this order would automatically have his ship follow the flag ship in a line at a certain distance. this would make sea battles also more organized and not an autoscooter of ships bumping into each other. and also this is exactly what those flags were used for in historical battles. its just simple commands and would make it possible to focus the fire a bit more effectively since the player does not always have to navigate and shoot. oh, and how about making "read signal flags" a crew skill that they have to learn before u can use them?
  8. oh: ps2: about those 1st rates. why should a pirate not be able to sail a first rate if he can aquire it somehow? too much rum?
  9. AN AWESOME IDEA!!! and it's better than the other ones imo (sorry guys!) I mean, he really has a very good point: IF someone wants to be a pirate, it should be a REAL pirates life. and if someone does NOT like this, then they either have to steal flags or they stay with the nation they started with. and YES PIRATES ARE NO NATION!!! there are already enough nations that we can pick from, so why would we wanna have another nation that lacks all identity, the only difference is the name "Pirate Nation". this is really a wasted feature and tiggily presents us with a more than great solution. it will enhance the game in a way that it will even exceed eve online in terms of innovation. great idea, i hope to see this. and then i'll become a pirate. muahhahaha ps: about the not crafting ships thingy: makes sense, but to balance this disadvantage, they could be able to add dura to ships they own (or even captured npc ships) instead. ps2: i forgot.
  10. Then the playerbase is solving the issue by themselves, no need for developers actions. Let those loners stay on EU2 and 3 and the rest come to EU1. After all everyone can decide for themselves what kind of experience they wanna have.
  11. + Quick buy button in harbor UI in the crafting section - crows nest:cool idea, but i think the distance is rather realistic. on the contrary i would reduce the viewing distance for smaller ships like basic cutter vs. big ships with crows nests oh and: - Ability to ransom other nations captains from captured ships at freetowns (sort of a loot drop, ransom value according to his rank) - Open world events (stated before) especially storms that open a battle map and can damage the ship!! this has been a feature in other games as well and makes even PVE long distance sailing an adventure - this game has so much potential!! dang!! ps: and of course dolphins
  12. One little suggestion: implement a button to "quick buy" a particular resource or material from the crafting menu (meaning for the cheapest available market price). This would really make things easier to get into crafting
