  1. So this makes me wonder. As a swedish player, how will this be around gustavia since the gustavia area of protection is quite small or atleast appear so due to 3/4 of it is on land? I know all the jibberjabber about sweden being awfully hard but we might also want new players to thrive. As people who lives in Sweden (IRL) sometimes only want to play as Sweden and therefore won't start out in an easier nation just to switch nation once their level is high enough.
  2. Have anyone mentioned that pirates shouldn't be allowed the goodies an alliance brings? In other words. Pirates shoulldn't be allowed to forge an alliance with any other nation.

  6. Common sense says: Don't board in a public ai battle where everyone can benefit from xp and gold. Best way for you and the community would be to go in a mission where they spawn. Hope that a 3rd rate spawns instead of 2 consti and cap it that way. That way you don't take away important xp given by kill/assist.

  14. Spyglass, yes please! I was actually thinking about gun ports today. And I was thinking that they should be closed normally and as soon as you hit the attack button they flung open. Would be a cool detail just for the sake of visual effect.
  15. I'd like to see. Joining a mission you become visible to all ( the crossed swords show up ) but if you're of an enemy faction you cannot join. This should allow group members nearby when starting the mission to join in just like it works at the moment of writing this post. Still it will tell people that there is an ongoing battle at that point so huge groups cannot just appear from thin air all of a sudden with the intention to gank. And still this will deny enemies to just casually gank people doing missions. Does however not stop enemies from waiting outside. But doing missions deep in enemy territory should be avoided anyways. 1 minute timers, sure, but why bother with a timer when it will probably work just as if there was no timer at all. You wouldn't enter a mission with enemies approximately within a 1 minute range - therefor they wouldn't be able to join in anyway. As it works now it's just frustrating and it hits the wrong place the hardest - the newcomers. I wouldn't be surprised if this would be the reason some newcomers stop playing after just trying the game out for an hour or two. Especially when told that friendlies cannot come to their aid when they get ganked.
  16. We launched a desperate counter-attack on ft baai. Got intercepted. The plan was good but basseterre fell waaay to quick for it to be successful. Hats off to the organization and accomplishments!
  17. Fleet would kind of interfere with the way atleast we ( sweden ) use the word "fleet" atm. For example we currently may say "Is there any fleet hunting going?". I agree that "clan" sounds "wrong". Clan is more suitable for first person shooters than anything else. That's why I chose to go with the word "guild". It makes me feel more like a gang recruiting people over at the tavern.

  19. I have this very same problem. Only solution I could come up with is to use google chrome to watch streams/flash videos while playing NA.
  20. Raking. Isn't it a bit of going back to square one to buff raking? If I remember it correctly, it was nerfed since yachts had no problems with 1st rates... ( yes this is where my pessimistic eyes and thoughts got stuck for a while please forgive me) Crew focus If I got it correct this will enable us to, for example, sacrifice a percentage of sail management to repair leaks at the same time? If so - Great! Im not sure if I like the idea around the crew for cannons thingy however. Mast magic Meh. Production buildings This is where things can get real interesting. I've always been a spokesperson for a total playerbased economy. No resources should be automagically produced at ports. And why not have so that some ports will give a bonus output in some production buildings. For example. Philipsburg gives a bonus output to wood. Or if more specific, Philipsburg gives a bonus output to fir log. Guayama gives bonus output to stone. Etc. That would make planning port conquests more important as a sort of side effect. New ships More ships are welcome! We need ranks also. Ranks are good. The gap between frigate/belle -> 3rd rate is where the constitution sits without love.
  21. I would like to see some kind of voting system where a governor can be elected for a nation for the sole purpose of having actual alliances. Today clans can have alliances or rather non-aggression pacts. But that will not affect all clans of that nation. So basically. You can only have a small group of players told to not attack a certain nation and/or a specific group of players. While other clans not involved can go around attack whatever they like. Either a governor or some kind of voting system so a nation can be allied with another. Not that it's "historically correct" but what is correct according to history now when we're 3 weeks into early access from release? On another note, the danes probably deserve to be manhandled around a bit just by overlooking the "political situation" thread for pvp 1 under national news. Having a multi-front war has been proven throughout history to not work out so good. And as someone mentioned earlier. They seem to lack diplomatic skills.
