  1. What were their intentions of sailing around in swedish waters? Be honest. To begin with. 5vs1 is less fair than 7vs5. To be fair two swedes joined during the long chase when these french players fled. If 3 decide to keep fleeing instead of joining their 2 friends who got hunted down and tagged is their decision. A decision which no one but themselves can defend.
  2. As stated in the first post 5 french sailors were attacking a lonesome swede in swedish territorial waters. Swedes formed a coastguard or if you prefer QRT. How many members of that QRT is clearly shown in the video. Agreeing to green on green should not be tolerable under these given circumstances. Difference would be if you are inside an empty port battle. Or practising something against a friend inside a battle instance when the battle is over. Here, also shown in the video, are evidence that these 2 sailors plan was to deny pvp rewards for 1 of 2 ships by sinking one of them.
  3. Server: PvP EU Player name(s): Takatounikey & Louis XVI Player nation: France Sitrep: French sailors were looking for a fight around swedish home waters. They were 5 players who found a lonesome victim. The swedish formed a QRT (coastguard) to fence them off from swedish colonial home waters. After a short chase we got ahold of 2 french players. And after an approximately 23 minutes chase in the battle instance the french decided to deny the swedes the PVP marks. By simply shooting each other. Or to be precise. Louis XVI gave order to his fellow friend of the same nation to sink him. This has happened before which there is little to no evidence from. Evidence 001: Here you can also see the chat record of the toxic discussion about their unadulted plans on how to evade this situation that through this post become the new reality. Pause if necessary. And replay likewise. This behavior is from my point of view cowardly and unacceptable. A man has to stand for his actions at all time.
  4. Been feeling a need for more options on the clan management part. For a long while now. We could start from the beginning. MOTD (message of the day). That will greet every member when they come online. Would be very handy! Thank you. Now further into it. Being able to set more ranks. OWN ranks. And restrictions for the clan warehouse etc. For example maybe you want to set someone as a crafter. He can withdraw specific goods from the warehouse*. Or set someone as a recruiter. He can invite people to the clan and has his own restrictions for the warehouse. * Clan warehouse. Being able to set groups for specific goods. Or make "folders" where you can put goods and restrict certain ranks from withdrawing goods. Further on being able to set a max withdraw which can be overridden by an officer or co-leader. There has to be some protection to the CWH. If members take off with a free 1st rate - no big deal. But if they take off with material worth 20 1st rates the deal is significant. - Withdraw/deposit history that reach back a month or more. Keep the discussion going. Add more and/or debate suggestions. Keep a good tone. Remember the dunning kruger effect. Not everyone like to MacGuyver™ everything. When most of the stuff can actually be in game (like in other games).
  5. Have noticed the game runs hotter in open world than in battle. You should however never reach critical temperatures. So I'd say you have some cooling issues.
  6. Or a free weekend so they get curious about the game instead of bored with the grind. Probably something that will happen in the future if we can ever leave alpha.
  7. If im not mistaken the reinforcement zones were reintroduced cause new players got ganked all the time. Which in some if not most cases lead to them leaving the game. So I wonder if it would be possible to have a shard transfer. Say you start out fresh on a PvE shard, at frigate rank you get the option to stay on PvE or transfer to PvP and if you chose to continue PvE you get the option to transfer at the next rank again. I know some people who would never touch anything but Sweden even with pliers. And there has to be players with the same mentality in other nations as well. Although I believe, even with the current reinforcement zones etc. If we had 1000 more players there would automatically be more pvp. The speed meta or even any meta is just... uh.. No there shouldn't be a fixed meta in a sandboxy game. But I guess that's hard to avoid. People will always find a way that works and stick to it. A fact to put out there is the modern replica of the east indie trader HMS Götheborg which only does 8 kn. With a cruise speed of 6 kn. We also need BR tweaking for most ships.
  8. Thanks for the kind invite, Im fine tho. Mostly cause the problem would follow no matter which nation you play in. Im not particularly angry. Just annoyed that people are actually defending this behaviour. It's an alpha, game play will change during this time. We're game owners and testers at the same time. We're here to report things we are unhappy about. Finding faulty game mechanics is just scratching the surface. I would for example not wish to buy naval action the day it's released to find myself hunting the white rabbit without a chance to catch him.
  9. I have personally never had to use a defensive tag to get away. I would rather sail smart from the beginning. Like taking on trades which can be done in a suitable ship. If Im going to an enemy harbour I would go with a trader's brig or a lynx. But then again im only trading crafting materials. So the I think it was patch 11 ? Sure did help out alot since crafting materials got lighter. Been caught once btw, when I was stupid enough to AFK sail in a trader's lynx. Might aswell point out that I do quite a fair amount of trading. I would say Im an average trader. My economy doesn't stand or fall because of it. And Im not just any new comer who wants to see things in a different way. I was here when we got smuggler flag in the first place. I still know the argument as to why. And it was never meant to be easy to trade from enemy ports. Neither was it meant to be used as a possible escape from PVP. Some people, perhaps including you, seem to be scared of changes. You are extremely, with all rights, cautious to restrictions. But you have to realize that the way the current smuggler flag works is potentially harming the game. Like I stated before. A clan mate of mine was attacked. We formed a coast guard to hunt this person down. He went into port, philipsburg to be precise. I then personally sat there together with a guy from another clan, waiting for nearly two hours for this person to come out. Which as you might guess, never happened. My clanmate was first of all sad about the loss of his ship. I told him we could replace it. Then I had to explain to him how the game mechanics work. And you may say he is more sad about that. Cause he like the game but he think it's unfair, and by all means I agree with him, that a person can be around capital waters and just gank the ever living hell out of less experienced players. Without as I mentioned before, consequences. I can guarantee you that it will be easier to find new ways to escape an enemy when you are getting tagged than finding a way around people abusing broken game mechanics. Cause the only way around abusive people is avoiding them. Ergo quit playing. Do I need to elaborate more?
  10. Sounds like a fun game. Not a game I would play tho. Camping stations I mean ports* is a waste of time as your opponent simply log off and do other things, play other games etc. Not like he's gonna sit there and wait for you to take a bio break. But what's next? Should I open a suggestion about a local chat where you can see who enters the area through chat? That's a game called EVE Online. There once was a time where we could avoid getting sunk without defensive tags. Oh. Yeah. That could've been before abusing smuggler flag was trending. Mate.
  11. Then I have to ask you. Should an LGV or the refit thereof, sailed under the command of a good PVP player, fitted for the intentions of PVP be able to dock up in an enemy harbor after they have jumped a much weaker opponent in the forms of a much less experienced player, without facing any consequences for being around enemy water e.g. a coast guard fleet. Or a worthy opponent the likes of an equally experienced PVP player? Your personal opinion is what Im asking for on this matter.
  12. If that ever becomes a problem we can look into it at a later date. Im not into restrictions. But I can tell we do not have warships being able to dock in enemy ports while using smuggler flag for a good reason. Am I mistaken?
  13. Wouldn't that still be an advantage as they can run around for say 5 minutes and then dock up and come back? What I suggest is they have to run back to neutral/national or free port to enable it again. A player in an LGV engaging others in combat hardly have any intentions of trading which the smuggler flag was intended for.
  14. It's still not about trader ships going for pvp. It's about them hiding after the battle so no one can catch them. They are untouchable once they are inside a harbour. You can't use smuggler flag on a warship. But you can on an LGV. And an LGV in the hands of a good PVP player is still as capable as a warship in the hands of the average player. BUT the LGV can dock just about ANYWHERE as long as they have the smuggler flag enabled.
  15. I wouldn't really call it an exploit. It's more of an abuse. Please refer to the first post and please do place a, for you, suitable vote in the poll for this thread. Thank you!
  16. Will totally prevent them from jumping into port to hide. They would have to face the consequences of their actions. I would say you are wrong in your expectations.
  17. No Annie, this is what the thread is originally about.
  18. I don't know what's up with your concrete minds. It's not the ganking LGV's ITSELF that is the problem. The problem is that they can just simply walk into a harbour if you wait for them outside. And the root to the problem as far as I can see is the smuggler flag. It's a straight up broken mechanic. Don't defend it cause you like using it yourself. We're together building a game that should encourage new players. If you want your version of naval action go taste the future on global server with an average of ~60 players.
  19. That will make no difference. The problem at hand is LGV & LGV refit are good gankships and when they get chased they simply hide in your own ports.
  20. How active were they in protecting their waters? I understand you feel it's a good feature for your purposes. Yet an LGV isn't really intended for engaging in PVP. However I wish you could understand that because it's not a problem in one silent corner of the map the situation doesn't have to be the same in another. But I guess this is a problem that everyone has to experience to feel the need for a redesign.
  21. Okay, lets steer this back ontopic for a while. Today smuggler flag is not entirely being used for trading, which was the original purpose of this feature. It is being used to be able to dock up in a port even in locations where there are no dockable ports. Just to get rid of other people chasing you. Preferrably after you have per definition ganked someone.
  22. People would remember your name despite which flag you had. And lets not even touch which problems we'd run into if we had no names showing in OW.
  23. Doesn't matter if you do 500 knots direct headwind. You still have a 15 second timer to tag someone for battle. During this time they have sailed back and forth between philipsburg and gustavia a half a dozen times. They even have time to PM you a smiley before they jump into harbour. - for christ sake. If you catch speed fitted LGV's on a regular basis with a renommee Im curious to what upgrades you have.
