  1. Indiaman is a borderline case as 4th rate, but shouldn't the Rattlesnake appear in stores as NPC ship ?

  3. I just did a r10 mission on PvE server. My Santi vs an AI Santi. Took some time, but i boarded the ai sucessfully. The AI was heavily damaged, but I could still claim it after winning. I left battle, got the winning debriefing screen, got exp and gold for winning but no gold for sending a ship to admirals. My own ship still had about 15% armor on the fighting side, no leaks, no water in hull, no fire. And still, 1 moment later i was thrown out of the winning debriefing screen and in harbor. It looks like the game mechanics not only made the heavily damaged AI Santi sink, but mine, too... My exceptional Santi plus several exceptional upgrades and blue marines is gone. F11 done.   4. I can put materials, components, upgrades...in there, so why not blueprints and repair kits ?
  5. Wholeheartedly +1 to the OP. PvE server is the entry to the game. Neglect that and the game will continue to have a negative development of playernumber. PvE needs way more attention and a balancing based on PvE, not on the needs of the PvP server. Pretty much the same Guild Wars did: make players learn the game basics on PvE, create mixed forms of PvEvP and make it easy to switch for those who want to try pure PvP afterwards. Eg having to restart from scratch with building plans is what will stop me to continue on PvP server. And since I play occasionaly PvE on the PvP server: There is a hell of a difference between PvE on PvE server and PvE on PvP server. On PvP server: players can get attacked wether they want to pvp or not. Also on PvP server: I can't leave my nation's area without being ganked. On PvP server metagame, politics, clan drama and lots of other non game stuff which tbh I don't need make most of the chat. Sorry, but "PvE" on the PvP server is not the real thing.
  6. Der Inflation ist es egal, woher das Geld kommt, das sie wertlos macht. In unserem Falle: es spielt keinerlei Rolle ob das Gold aus PvE oder PvP, aus Handel oder Kampf kommt. Wichtig ist nur, das zur Zeit sehr viel mehr zu- als abfließt. Eine Goldverknappung macht also auch nur solange Sinn, bis ein Ausgleich erzielt wurde.
  7. Das Problem hat eigentlich 2 Ursachen: Inflation entsteht immer wenn mehr Geld zufließt als abfließt. NA hat so gut wie keine "moneysinks" Wenn also der Geldzufluß erhöht wird, macht sich das sofort bemerkbar. Imho braucht das Spiel dringend mehr sinvolle Möglichkeiten, Gold auszugeben.
  8. The one thing amazing me most : Why isn't Hermione a movie star yet ? I read the reason why there is no sequel to "Master and Commander" eg was the cost of building ship replicas. Now we have a perfect seagoing and beautifull one here , so where is the movie ?

  10. Yes, thats what i posted. And because my account is locked on the non working PvE server, I cannot access any of the servers. Thus for me none of the servers is working. Pls take care that one crashed server does not prevent players from accessing other servers. Maybe this clarifies the issue:
  11. Authentication error: Account is locked by shard "PvE One USA"...... Not only is PvE server not working, but also I can't access PvP as alternative.
  12. Confirmed. Same happened twice when we tried to attack a small fleet on PvE server. I attacked, the other player in my group could not join. On PvE server the new anti ganking system just prevents attacks against the AI.....

This game misses a lot of chances atm: No reason to explore the map and go on long distance sailing, outposts and buildings can simply be bought instead of earning them thru activities/reputation. Not all the good things other games had should be ignored in this one. Lots of games have already been mentioned here, but the one the devs should actually look at for PvE content is the "Patrician" series.

(My apologies if this has been suggested before, couldn't find anything with the search though) I would like to suggest smthg similar to the Cube other games have: You put eg 4 BP's you dont need in and get a random new one. Same for materials, upgrades etc. (maybe even ships) This would also be a nice thing to do during OW sailing, if it could be done from within the cargo of one's ship. To avoid abuse, it could come with a cost (Gold, labor hrs...)
  15. This game doesn't need content removed, it needs content added. More crafting, not less.
  16. The 4 notes you wasted on the ship with stifnes are 4x over priced..... I like the idea of the OP.
  17. This. . if it takes "several hours" to fix server issues than indeed you should look for a better provider. Even if thats ot here: make PvE more attrctive -> more players -> you can afford a better provider
  18. dropped out of PvE. On relog server is shown as working, but w/o a ping Steam report sent.
  19. this. Besides: If something is abused by some players, it's the worst solution to simply delete it. Stop the abuse and keep the fun for the legit players is a better solution.
  20. So we still don't have a sextant and a chronometer to tell us were we are on the map....but we know now w/o ever visiting a port what is sold there. Nobody needs to explore anymore, you get all the info served on a silver platter. Another part of the fun of this game was burried... The good thing: we can finally forget words like "simulation" or "realism" when discussing Naval Action. .
  21. Building ships has been made rather expensive... Building a Constitution now requires a shipyard lvl 3, which costs more than 1 Million. This also means, I can't sail to a free town anymore and build a ship to order for someone else. I don't think I like that part of the patch much. I am rather glad I built a Connie right before the patch... Also: Production buildings have a storage capacity for 3 days of their production. If "day" means ingame day, than this is way to low. Why doesn't production just go into the local warehous ? It needs an outpost anyway to build a production building.
  22. The same goes for the second source of exp on PvE server: the AI ship density is way to low. Main reasons for a decreasing player number on PvE server: 1) Low density of missions and ai ships 2) no ingame source of information other than the help channel. This game desperately needs a manual, tutorial or ingame help file. 3) to much microing for even simple tasks. Microing is fine for getting the last 20% efficiency out of PvP, but it shouldnt be needed for simple things in PvE. 4) a cheating ai that sees targets through smoke, can turn a 3rd rate on a dime etc
