  1. I was referring more to the actual in-game comms at Santo Domingo, as there were French, Danish (Russian), Swedish, and Spanish players present.
  2. That's something I was figuring might have contributed to the losses the other night- communication issues due to language barriers. For our part, we have English speakers, Germans, Dutchmen, and people from the north of England (who arguably speak a different language), so getting instructions across to someone who isn't particularly proficient in your language (or you in his) can be quite a task.
  3. 3 reps from each nation is 24 people (assuming Pirates come). Can you imagine that amount of people, who normally face each other from opposite ends of a cannon, trying to come to any amount of accord? I want a success for a meeting to address the problems in-game that we, the players, can solve. An effort should be made, and I'm glad that it is being made, even if I don't see it ending well. At least we'll be able to say we tried.
  4. I'm taking wagers for how quickly it goes pear shaped or Lord Vicious sneaks in and lights a bunch of fireworks off.
  5. You keep saying that. I have several questions as to your BAC. Please take the sailers off of the yardarms and step out of the vehicle sir.
  6. This is a good thing. Besides a bunch of unhappy campers who have just gotten a very large dose of- what's the addage? Ah, yes, THEIR OWN medicine, this means guaranteed action in the coming days. A ragtag effort of everyone we could scrape together at the time took an enemy nation's primary strong hull port, which was located a stone's toss from their capital. And for at least 4 days (providing the first battle for it is not ended in our favour), it gets to fly the stars and stripes. I CANNOT imagine the horrifying retribution coming our way for this insult. It's going to be massive, and it's going to be fun, because it's going to mean lots and lots of fights. Real fights, mind you, not ones on the forums. Attend those as well as you've attended here and you may keep your ports next time, my nordic friends.
  7. The answer for a small nation in need of help is to allow clans within that nation to fight each other in order to gain... nothing? No way to tangibly enforce its views on where the nation should go beyond 'Let's beat some of the guys on our team up and they'll suddenly want to do it our way.' It's not as if armed infighting will magically not touch smaller nations, and I guarantee that if what little resources for crafting ships of the line you have are constantly being siphoned off to fight insurrection so that you manage to get even fewer lineships into battle, you'd be smiling on the other side of your face. If more thought were given to how changes and proposed changes would affect the community as a whole, the game wouldn't be in the bog right now.
  8. What a terrible idea.Sanctioned green on green has never worked well in this game. If you're fed up with the direction your nation's going, reroll under the black flag.
  9. I'm 100% in favour of anything that provides accurate information to new players.
  10. Have had lots of fun sailing under LV in Port Battles. Would gladly do so anytime again.
  11. Please remember that this thread is called 'Good fights Battle(pvp,pb) video reports' and not 'Salt-encrusted shitflinging battle.' There are other threads to house complaints about alliances, the new port battle mechanics, and the forum pvp. Keep this thread clear for battle reports and other, more pertinent matters.
  12. I mistyped in battle, not their live oak, their strong hull bonus. Just as necessary!
  13. We certainly did. We had not expected to win this evening, I'm glad both of our efforts were so successful. If I could harvest the salt that's going to fly our way due to 'night flips' I could make thousands of medkits.
  14. Alternate view of the Castries battle (Santo Domingo coming soon)
  15. Christ, do we really need to restart this argument?
