We could allocate points for manufacturing to make this work i suppose? Research and dedication for gun/ steel production could affect on the marks also effect the construct time. Good guns needs more care when making and not so easy to mass produce for example the IJN 203mm type 3 gun turrets compared to type 2 and vanilla

if the game is not multiplayer some camos won't be too bad of an idea ^^ Al tho some badges or small things are more than enough a kind gesture. Ships or hulls?... Ships absolutely no. Hulls... not sure about that. I won't mind but would it be too much or too little? Then again if it is never going to be usable in multi (if that ever is an option) then a hull with cool camo is not bad idea. Something that embodies Ultimate admiral (Mount rushmore like) But with admiral theme or with all the ults embodied Or just a camo like that (very high hopes) Flags are cool idea and if they are easy to customize then it would be very very nice. Arpegio fleet here we go All in all a small good will gesture is enough for me but as a greedy person... a tailored skin is more than welcome and yes i will be picky tsun tsun if it's not majestic Speaking of flags. IJN ships has civilian flags instead of imperial navy flags? Design reason i suppose... same goes to Kriegs marine and Italian navy and russian navy (before the soviet era)?? IJN Navy, Not to be confused with IJA (imperial japanese army) Regina marina flag (italian navy just incase and no i did not make it small on purpose) German: Kaiserliche Marine, "Imperial Navy" 1871-1892 and 1903 to 1918 variant of imperial german navy Tsar navy (before the russian flag we have in the game which should not exist yet) The royal navy but to be honest this is better flag Yorkshire tea the best symbol of good navy and vigor. With this tea infused AP shells you can detonate even the most strongest ship before even built. Ah yes and the armor with the tea leaves makes Stalinium metal look like aluminum sheet ......

I like the idea of having X amount of boilers and being able to set speed. It's like having some engines as back up just in case and still maintain max speed (to a degree). On subs they had multiple engines on row per shaft. i don't think it would be that bad to have 6 disel and 4 electric engines on ship just to keep the thing moving. But this would also allow ships to run out of fuel and move with electric engine. -
But if we can move the machinery shouldn't we be able to place ammo dumps for secondaries and fuel stowage areas? Speaking of fuel. I noticed that ships don't suffer from fuel leakage nor lack of said fuel? Will this be implemented in campaign who knows. Just a small extra tidbit to think of when designing ships and armor. Also damage control of fuel leakage could be harmful or healthy. If RNG wills it your ship shares the fate of Taihou ^^

Penetration values for HE shells?
Illya von Einzbern replied to goduranus's topic in General Discussions
HE floodings does make sens. I mean if the plate ruptures it will start to leak and so on. AP shell won't do much if it does not pen. Hits the plate and detonates there as it got stuck. Behaves like HE. Pens and detonates in enclosed compartment more dmg. HE has more filler to rupture the first plate it contacts while AP smashes in said first plate. Poke enough holes to a dam and it will have a catastrophic flooding. the amount of damage it does to deck pens are some times of the charts or par with AP. belt his are more or less ok -
Number dont matter (Test...of sorts)

Basicly what helps is to have decent speed (30kts +- 3 no less than 27kts it is easy target) 16" guns no casement guns they increase the roll to a silly degree. you must have pew pew secondaries then take 8" turrets and only 6 at max (3 per side) no more than this will keep the roll in place. 4 to 5 turrets (center lined) Armor can be something like this. 20" belt 15" extended 6" deck 4" extended Krup armor (to make the ship light as possible) (make the ship light as possible), Heavy shells (forget super heavy), No torps, Barbets are nice but not really needed, Citadel protection can be taken if you can afford it, Extra hull bottoms... bad idea, Torpedo protection is ok idea if you can afford it and take it. Keep the tonnage some what reasonable. Too long ships turns like brick. Making the ship compact size keeps it alive longer as well allows you to use cheeky turrets as additional armor (spaced). Try to keep the ship as stable as possible. (lessens the max speed penalty) That's how i have managed to complete most of the missions were dreads and battle cruisers are used. CA and CL designs needs more testing They tend to cook the ammo for breakfast. (i suck at them) -
Hurray for the music ^^ Can't wait for it to return.

5. would be fitting for post battle result. Your fleet lost and the ship was scuttled to avoid capture. Immobile ship can still be towed to port if there are any friendly ships around. Would hate to see my immobile fortress of doom to commit sudoku due to being immobile

shipbuilding Ship Aesthetics

might be that this comes out as game dev progresses. but i do agree with cptbarney and it does sound reasonable -
they are awesome games and i have to say. I absolutely love the naval invasion aspect of age of sail. It tickles me the right way and it just is awesome. Never seen anything similar in any other game so far. I just hope we see that in the Dreads as well. We do have some landing crafts like the Daihatsu landing craft, Akistumaru and allied landers (don't remember the names and bit lazy to search. I'm sorry ) Generals brigade system was also good. All kind of flexibility i have seen on the other titles are just amazing pickle ticklers and i love it. If you can relay some thanks and gratitude for the devs from me. That would be even more awesome. Thanks (of the records any new news tidbits you could share from the inside ? even a small bread crumb)

they are also working on the Age of sail if i am correct. It is from same guys and that is also really awesome game.

if you are scared of planes then make AA BB just like i made a 8x 5 per side torpedo battleship and booy. 20km torps on a yamato is just fine. In campaign with all techs researched you have 50% hit chance at 39km. Balanced? you know a cruiser can't even get 20km range before they A. are crippled. B. Out right whipped out. Carriers could provide vision on this sniper as well give a chance to do some sort of damage to make the aim sway. I did that. you can already heck even a dataminer managed to pull that out. Like i said before. You can turn this game in to boring 40km sniper duel with no need of having light ship (no point having unnecessary screeners) and very boring from tactical aspect. Planes, carriers, submarines and forts would provide more nuances. Bland RNG sniper duels are boring as hell. Managed to fall a sleep because of this or cook food coz my sniper BB can handle it just by auto cruising. Is that the game you want? A bland boring sniper duels? something you can run on background with minimal input?? That is massive massive waste of games potential and good game for human like entities that struggles to make coffee while counting the portion. Best times in the game is when you are going yolo. Planes would be a redeeming factor for late game. Age of sail does not struggle of this due to the fact of having forts, naval landings and so on. CV phobics could just take the Mk.1 eye ball out from Hollywood fantasy ship kills and from accursed WT and so on. Planes took bloody ages to sink ships that were prepared for AA action. And if you use some port strikes as example that would simply be silly. Pearl was good example of CV op yada yada yada. Unprepared ships are easy targets, even a squad of army soldiers can sink a ship if ship was not prepared or aware. (humas OP muh BB sank.. I agree nerf Mk.1 eye ball so it can't see Hollywood fantasy...). Planes are good thing, Zeplins are good thing, blimps awesome, aviation and forts good ideas. Sniper dueling supper ships.... just no. I thought this was tactical game not Sniper elite with big guns. Planes and diverse tactics are good. If i want to do sniper duels i could just go play "from abyss" and be done.
