  1. I'm not sure what match play is, the more options the better, but I would like to see what players can do 1 v 1, 2 v 2, etc. with evenly matched ships and equal starting positions.
  2. If we set a speed record on a particular ship, I would like to see the log line yank the ship's boy holding it over the stern.
  3. I don't know enough about tacking or the game to make a list but i'd like to see failed attempts, if you don't have enough momentum and whatnot. It would make a captain's knowledge of what his particular ship could do, important. I would like a relationship with my ship, like Aubrey and the dear Surprise. And of course, better gamers than me would have an idea of what enemy ships were capable of when it comes to tacking. So a noob with an autopilot at least has to know he needs some speed.
  4. What sort of bosun's magic is that?! Where is the sailors? Nevermind, I should read before I type. Another question, to be answered here...http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/16-sail-control/ Are those telltales I see on the sails and do they help sailing?
  5. A glass of wine with you sir! When will the Lady Washington be in Vancouver USA, again?
  6. Empire of the Seas http://youtu.be/fp9hsQpB3zA
  7. A glass of wine with you, sir!
  8. Too bad Assassin's Creed doesn't have mods. Sounds like it just needs some semi realistic sailing.
  9. If there are towns with locations we need to visit, I would like to double click that location on a mini map and auto run to that location. Also, idk if NPC a.i. is a "little thing" considering no MMO has intelligent NPC's and few single player games have decent bot a.i., but it would be nice if totally outclassed NPC's tried to run away on their best point of sail or struck their colors when the cause is hopeless.
  10. That would make racing real fun, also. Or, even, just screwing around with your buddies, when fleeting. I second Oneironz's post above me.
  11. I hope this game is so well done, it makes me seasick just using my monitor.
  12. I'll vote for it, because you Naval Action guys seem competent.
  13. I would hope the game lets us explore alternate history. I wouldn't mind seeing King Washington build line ships out of live oak and whooping the tar out of them Europeans. I would also like to see Russia, the U.K., Spain and the U.S. have a 4 way brawl for the Pacific coast of North America.
  14. Farewell and Adieu, is my favorite. So many good shantys, hard to choose. Santy Anno http://youtu.be/atumHTucDLU Haul Away Joe http://youtu.be/YvBHdw-EqLM Boccherini http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Om5LFM4Un7I
  15. If you can get to Mexico, easy, than just head north, skip all that red tape.
  16. +1 We need, at least, scurvy and the yellow-jack. Scurvy would provide important economic locations, imagine owning the fresh vegetable concession at Cape Horn. A captain who has trained his crew to 100 loyalty and 100 skill would think long and hard before accepting a mission to the West Indies when the yellow fever could wipe out 3/4 of his crew.
  17. What a great video! What a beautiful ship and thanks for bringing Lafayette over here.
  18. Star Trek Online, has a lot of user generated stories, that are essentially single player games in a multi player world. Players rate the scenarios with stars, and that is a very good indicator of which ones are good. I think user generated content would be a very wise idea. Perhaps, if they were good enough, players or guilds could even sell their better scenarios for game currency.
  19. I voted for developers choice, I figure they have some inside knowledge of the game, but I can't say I'm disappointed that the snow is winning.
  20. The War of 1812 and the Rise of the U.S. Navy Hardcover by Mark Collins Jenkins (Author) , David Taylor (Author) http://www.amazon.com/War-1812-Rise-U-S-Navy/dp/1426209339/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1391190393&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=the+war+of+1812+birth+of+the+us+navy This book is amazing, it's big, heavy, printed on really thick paper and lots of pictures of things from the era.
  21. If time and budget don't allow ship interiors, I think this would be an excellent idea. Also, since the game needs to make money and grow, captain's cabins are just the kind of thing that can be upgraded for real money. Star Trek Online sells various ship interiors.
  22. I realize visually modeling all the blood and gore of a genuine Napoleonic era naval battle would be expensive and time consuming, but how about audio examples of the horror of war? Or would screams of agony be too over the top? On a less gruesome note, I would like to hear Chips the carpenter telling me "6 foot of water in the well" and some midshipman reporting our speed.
  23. Excellent idea! I don't see why not, it's a game after all. The USA should be full of old growth hardwood trees, all we need is the will to build the ships. "Free Trade and Sailors Rights!"
