  1. This game very, very clearly is about exploiting the OW mechanics as much as possible. Ever since the wipe it has been an uphill battle to figure out which funny tricks the unnamed group of players has discovered now. It's pretty rough to maintain your motivation when your opponent "cleverly" uses game mechanics to teleport a fleet of 15 SOL out of a battle into a port and then you have a key dev respond to your post that teleporting to safety from a battle is intended if you use the mechanics right.
  2. Not sure about that. Plenty of very vocal "git gud" players did leave those nations again to, and I quote, "build SOL without leaving the safe zone"
  3. in 2016 (two minutes) I managed to join an OW battle that I did not even see when it was initiated when I was sailing a Live Oak Bellona. Three minutes is absurd, no amount of care will fully prevent being jumped by people from half way across the world if you initiate a fight with a clear horizon
  4. The upside of upgrades rather than crafting is that you can farm for the good upgrades, while you can't farm for the rare woods. I don't think traders even carry them. The good and rare woods are sold out in the entire game.
  5. I don't think you understand what toxic means. Your suggestion would straight up murder this game. Belly up, gg game over. And if you're seriously debating, why can't you answer the simple question about the PVP "carrot"?

  7. What was that carrot you're talking about? I don't see any PVP carrots. Unless you go out solo (which is why we play online multiplayer games, AMIRITE OR WHAT?), it's very hard to find PVP fights that aren't lopsided ganks. There is absolutely no curated PVP outside of the RVR system. Either the PBs itself, or hostility interception - which is a pretty shite system right now anyways due to various issues we all know about. Everything else is either arranged (such as the tournament) or just sail around for a few hours and you may/may not find someone to fight. There is no incentive for anyone but the top end of the player base to do exactly that right now. Any inexperienced player trying that will run into one of these top players right away, lose their ship and get no reward at all for that. Because our time is worthless. Unless we play Naval Action Legends, where you get rewarded for losing, even though you're not losing your ship there when it sinks =) Your suggestion is one thing for certain: Toxic.

  10. The defender already has to overcome the disadvantage of having to react in time. Let's be honest here, the whole "hostility mission" system is very, very bad for the game. For a start, it causes lots and lots of PVE combat on a PVP server. Jumping into the missions is extremely arcade - ships just spawn in the middle of a battle. At least they're no longer impossible to find due to high spawn radius. Lots of players love it simply because they make so much money from it almost risk free. It would be a better system if they just copied the presence circles from PBs on the open world. Have a ship in the circle in front of the port? Hostility goes up. Defender chases the ship out? Hostility goes down.
  11. Will you also stop making daily threads about steam reviews? If so, I vote we just all take a 6 week break from the game, including the developers and get this in return. Can you make a blog for us to not follow?

  13. Exactly as it is now: It becomes an abandoned 0 crew ship. You sail up and select "sink ship", you get the marks or you crew it and get the ship in fleet. I mean the main reason for this thread is that if you are about to lose a PVP fight, you can just deny your opponent the rewards by pressing surrender. And that's just BS.
  14. Neither did many Italians consider Sweden the winners of last night. It's unsporting of you to be such bad losers as well, I hope you're aware of that. , > A team comes with 3 lynxes and sail upwind for 1h, getting a guaranteed victory. Pretty sure the rules don't work like that.

  16. I wished all these people who scream "die for honor!!!!" at the top of their lungs would apply the same heroism in the non-curated PVP of the game. The same logic could be applied to Football fans this weekend demanding Sweden score an own goal against Italy because Italy should be at the world cup. Except no one did that.

  20. with tiny warehouse and only 5 building slots I strongly disagree with the entire proposal. The proposal does not improve crafting / econ gameplay in any way. It does not address the key issues it has right now in any way - labor hours gone after 5 minutes of gameplay, game over for the day.
