A Different Take On Leveling Up Ships
Werewolf replied to William Death's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Agree completely. The proposed system is a great idea. A lot of people ingame are bitching about the ship tier trees.... seems pretty harsh. We should be able to just sail that one ship, and gain experience towards that one ship. Having some flex points to transfer to another ship of same class is nice, but not needed if it comes down to it. The most important part of it is being able to gain experience on your chosen ship by just sailing it... not every other ship all around it. The skill based unlocks were a great implementation, and with this tweak, I think that system would be pretty much perfect. -
They did, but at the same time, the limitations of the game made it to where you had to log in and do a battle, etc. I hate that a lot of people missed it, honestly after some hours, I can see it's a much bigger issue than I thought. I hope the devs come up with a way to hook people up that have been gone for months. I'm sorry for my tone, I guess I didn't understand the issue as much as I thought. Easy to be critical when it's not your loss, right?

So, what part of early access, there will be wipes, essentially nothing is promised etc. did you not understand? The game hasn't even released yet, and you are mad that you dont have your max rank? Seriously? Early access games might not be for you. Along with about 90% of other gamers on the planet, apparently.

You're right, it's a waste of time. You will just be indignant and demand someone else fix your problem for you, certainly not anything to do with you not checking the game for four months. Don't worry, I'm done wasting breath. I just saw this and couldn't believe anyone would be that........ well, like I said. Waste of time. Good luck getting the devs to wipe your ass.

Would it have killed you to check? ONCE in four months? Lead a horse to water, watch him die of thirst right next to the lake. Good one.

So by that logic, you KNEW that you had to log in to all servers and fight an action to update your XP across all servers, but didn't, and somehow you are supposed to get an email saying please do what we've already underlined in BRIGHT ORANGE text, as well as forum topics about it, as well as answers to the same damn question over and over...... and yet you failed to do it. Completely, 100% YOUR fault. Noone else is having this problem, because we did what we were told. A failure on your part does not constitute an emergency on the devs part. Suck it up, accept you screwed up, and deal with it. Stop being an entitled little baby that wants to blame YOUR laziness and failure on someone else. If you had logged in ONE time in the past three months, you saw the warning. If you checked the forums for 30 seconds, you saw the repeated warnings. Shake my damn head.

Naval Action - Magic moments
Werewolf replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
1200 hours here. Magic moments... Getting my first "real" ship, my Mercury. I felt like I was sailing a battleship, all proud and stuff... then a Santi sailed by and my jaw hit the floor. Hitting land more or less where I intended to.... One of the most incredible things about this game was the sense of unknown, I *think* im going the right way.... getting lost at sea was one of my favorite things in the entire game, but sadly the magical GPS has completely destroyed that... please bring back that sense of adventure, it made trade runs bearable! The first time I saw a large ship (Bellona) broadside in a battle. I was in my little Mercury, and a friendly Bellona demasted a pirate Connie in one broadside from the stern... I was completely awestruck, the thunderous sound of those big guns rolling across the water. I've always loved the smoke and flame effects, and the bass rumbling in my headphones. My first rainstorm... at night. I was completely disoriented, and a tad bit worried. Out of sheer bad luck, an enemy frigate sailed out of the mist and gloom straight at me. The feeling of my heart dropping into my feet is one that I cannot convey to you through simple words on a forum. Being chased by Pirates alllll the way from Florida to Charleston in my LGV full of silver, gold and lignum vitae. I made it to within sight of charleston when they finally got me. Six of them against me and my lone escort, a frigate. They quickly destroyed my buddy in his frigate, and demasted me, getting my loot. The bitter salty taste of watching my cargo sail away made me rage SO HARD I exited the game, went outside to stew and drink a beer... and started laughing, as I realized just how much it had affected me, and how attached I was to my pixel ship and cargo. The first time I smuggled into an enemy port, an active one at that. My heart was pounding the whole time..... I sailed right past an enemy 2nd rate who appeared to be afk at the port entrance... as I sailed out, he gave chase, but I was too far ahead. My first port battle... a 25vs25 brawl of lineships, and a mixed bag of frigates, me being one. The sight of the enemy battle line closely coordinating their turns and firing was really a sight to see, using my frigate to screen the flanks of marauding enemy frigates. The sounds of the crews on our lineships cheering after a good broadside made the hair stand up on the back of my neck..- 233 replies

Seems a bit harsh, man. Admin has been all over the boards, answering questions, asking for opinions, explaining things for the 100th time. I whine and grouse a lot, but it's because I love this game, I have faith in the development team, and I'm resigned to being here for the long haul. Do you honestly think they mean to miss deadlines, or just don't care? I guarantee you they don't enjoy the wall of whiny babies insulting their every move. From the get go, we were told this is alpha. Expect bugs, delays, broken game mechanics, missed target dates, etc. Alpha is not an excuse, it is a fact of software development. I invite you to put yourself in their shoes, having to deal with all of us whiny entitled babies that need their diapers changed.

Um, no. You misunderstand. It doesn't matter what I want. The historical facts are that pirates were nothing like a nation. Are you really that daft, or are you just pretending? If you want easymode, play a nation. If you want the biggest challenge the game has to offer, go solo pirate. Show me ONE PIRATE that EVER sailed a First Rate. Show me a Pirate Nation that EVER existed. the list goes on and on. If it was up to me, Pirates wouldn't even own a single port, except perhaps Mort. They would have to rely on scavenging, hiding, sneaking, stealing, robbing, killing, high seas bartering. If it was up to me, Pirate play would be so damn hard that whinebags like you would never even touch it with a ten foot pole so we wouldn't have to hear your complaining. You grok that, bro? Or do I need to draw you a picture?
