  1. And to the Danes, the more sympathy you show the Swedish PVE politicians the more we are going to ramp up the grief on your nation. Do as thou wilt. Typical French. Ready to sell used firearms, never fired only dropped.
  2. Pee on Sweden's major clans. They suck. And no, we won't be considering another nation. Perhaps you should. As a pirate you could enforce your fake agreements on others. Of course after getting owned you'd probably be on the forums with olive branches, white flags and peace accords.
  3. http://plays.tv/video/56d3a8876a420d1c73?from=user Here is a video of me outside of the Danish capital engaging the Danes by myself, going from a 1 on 1 to a 3 on 1. Note no running from me. I stayed and fought to the end. I earned the respect of the Danes I fought. I lost with grace. I didn't expect sympathy nor am I going to beg for peace on a forum. You'll find more videos in the future of me bringing the fight to the enemies of my nation win or lose. And as we speak we're building a clan of like minded individuals so I won't have to fight against less than favorable odds. The day before I was fighting Constitutions in a cutter. This is what Sweden needs. Not a clan of fail boaters in heavy ships that run at the first sign of a loss. Nor do we need people whose first response at defeat is to come to the forums to whinge and plead for mercy. The resistance lasted less than 24 hours before the white flag was waived. Pathetic.
  4. We are content with enduring. If you aren't then live occupied and appease. That's your call. But understand the goal of the Danish and Swedish peace was to have us forego our alliance with France in favor of one with the Danes. I'm content with no alliances and every nation for itself if that's what you'd prefer. You might wonder why that's the agenda. Well the Danes want to face the British and to do so they need a secure rear border. That's hard to do with the Swedish French alliance. Even the currently military victory is temporary at best. Better to permanently dissolve that alliance for the price of a few easily retaken ports. Which would inevitably come when they break the British. I'd go far as to say ultimately the goal is to partition France to the Dutch and Sweden to the Danes after first dealing with the British. So if you wish to sacrifice long term for a short sighted peace and security then that's what you do.
  5. Oh but I do. As we speak DRUNK is building a clan whose sole purpose is to make Danish life hell. We are not ready for PBs yet but lets see how long you can keep peace when we lie in wait and ambush you at every opportunity. Sooner or later your innocent players will tire of being assaulted and being told not to retaliate. And our brotherhood with the French won't be changing either. When and if we are ever in range of the Dutch you'll meet the same fate. Your weakest and most vulnerable are our primary targets. You may build an expansive empire for the time being but you will never know peace. Oh and when we get the urge we'll be paying the conquest flag cost of nations capable of handling you for every successful port they take from you.
  6. Quantity? We allegedly have a 170 player clan that hasn't take a single port that wasn't neutral or given to them. You can have quantity, i'll take quality.
  7. As a member of Sweden who operates just fine with just our capital and has a shred of dignity id rather operate out of freeports than accept a port we didn't earn. It will make transforming Sweden into a hardened nation capable of dealing with hardship and taking our ports back much more satisfying. I assure when we build a core of of pvpers that do not have peace and surrender as a protocol, you will not be extended the same charity. Quite frankly you do us no favors. You only serve to weaken us as a competitive nation. Maybe that is the plan. Maybe you want to actually have a worthy opponent in the future. You decide.
  8. The Danes should consider replacing there current leadership with leaders that are competent. The idea that you are going to give Sweden back its ports after your members sacrificed time, wealth and energy fighting for and successfully taking through fair conquest is disturbing. You aren't going to live in peace to attack Britain. You are going to be mission ganked and trader ganked. The day Sweden deserves more ports is the day they rip them from your cold, dead, Danish fingers.
  9. Please, by all means, bring your traders right on through.
  10. Arbitrary pve grinding for port battles? The point of the over world map is conquest and economy to fuel said conquest. If it weren't then arena battles would be all that is needed. Making conquest arbitrarily more time consuming is not a good idea. If pvpers are logged in and ready for conquest they don't want to waste hours on top of travel time doing a menial task just to attempt conquest. Right now if a solo player logs in and has the money they can buy a flag and initiate a port battle. They aren't constrained by agendas or artificial limitations. Any other players who want to participate can do so. This suggestion transforms the system in to something that requires more energy and coordination than people want to give. If the argument is that ports are transferring too quickly then take the extreme in reverse. Why not have the taking of a port require a month's planning, the setting of a date sometime in the future so that way we have oceans of time to ensure a proper defense including people requesting days off to attend. The answer is because it's a game and the accelerated pace of conquest and loss keeps the game exciting.
  11. The game is purchased for $40 dollars. There was no warning sign at the store that you may have to pay more for the game content later or become a subscriber. There was no mention of an in-game shop nor any type of pay wall system. If you want to continue paying for the game then donate the money through paypal. I mean if intentions are honest why do you need anything in return? Once that money printing option is turned on the greed it brings into the dev team leads to free updates and features going extinct and content for sale being the only goal. If a $40 dollar price tag wasn't going to sustain the company then they should have considered that before selling people the game. And quite frankly at this point $40 dollars is more than fair for what's being offered. Let's see some content and patches before we start asking to be gouged for more money. Yeah, hunting ships immune to loss while destroying others not immune to loss sounds great. At least if you wanted to kill the game off. To the devs, beware of players bringing gifts (even symbolic). No one wants to pay you more for the game. What they do want to do is build a supportive reputation on the forums so that you might cater to their ideas much easier later on. Don't fall for the manipulative relationship. If you need support setup a paypal and ask for donations. Take note of who actually does donate. Introducing haves & have-nots into the game after you started off charging people $40 dollars will see your Steam reputation decimated and your future (because Steam is the PC gaming future) for this game and any others you develop as a company failures at launch.
  12. There is no way to destroy a faction. Why should a well planned and fought series of battles that lead to a decisive albeit temporary victory not be possible? This isn't a re-creation of actual history, it's a game based in a select historical time period. I also see no need to make the second player on any given day arbitrarily pay more for their conquest flag. Nor the third to pay even more. What could be changed is the maximum participants in a port battle. Doing so would enable smaller nations to field a full defense force at less than optimal times much easier than the 25 required. You have asserted that a steamroll that can not achieve total destruction should be arbitrarily dragged out or made more cost intensive and provided no reason of substance other than being vexed you were on the receiving end. Muster your forces and your finances and do the same to them tomorrow. If you or the nation are not prepared to or capable of doing so then you never had a real claim to the territory you lost.
  13. It will make having an armed trade ship in the PB quite satisfying.
  14. What masochistic type of player would want someone else to collect a free salary for doing nothing? If you are a leader worthy of something from your members they would give it to you. This sounds like a way to scam desperate loners into funding a group who includes them for profit. You get a 6 group of pvpers who recruit 20 mission running newbies and they collect a profit off of those missioners desire to be included in a l33t guild. The more newbies you collect the more presence you have which magnifies the effect. And since no one wants to leave the friends they make or go back to being solo and untagged they are extorted to no end. Horrible idea. It allows the insidious intelligence of some to scam and extort the inept and desperate.
  15. Or you could just kill the pirate nation, allow the current pirates to choose a normal nation once and all future pirates must become so through natural means. Now here is the kicker. Once you become a pirate, you are a pirate. You exist by avoiding national navies and living in free ports. You have the basic cutter and whatever you capture for resources, just like a real pirate. No gimmicks, just your balls and wit. It will become a real challenge unlike POTBS where the nation was a op blend of gimmicks and zero risk. The true elite pirates will be legendary and the cowardly and opportunistic, Jack Sparrow, ganking, fanboys will avoid the challenge. There will be so few that those who are will be memorable. Like Roberts, Rackham, Blackbeard and the rest. You could even add a top ten pirates list for wealth. A star status list. And only for the pirates to keep it special and exclusive. Discuss.
  16. No. A waste of time. Always exploitable in the end. Besides, if you offer enough money and intel on the target hiring bounty hunters isn't that difficult. When they provide proof of a sinking pay them. And should you scam them you'll face their obvious expertise at hunting people down.
  17. Cutters are the coast guard of a nation and a threat to keep enemies from spamming high end ships without care. When you face the proposition of being swarmed by free craft you consider your options much more carefully. They are also a sound option for pirates operating out of free towns to attack enemy trade ships. With a very high death rate from reinforcements and players they need a readily available means of replacing their ships. The cutter is that means. In the case of complete financial ruin they are also a means of rebuilding. So, no. Leave them as they are. You have no inherent right to equal risk. If you choose to try and outgun your enemy you face the potential consequences. Remember you have the option of bringing a cutter(s) as well.
  18. How would it be fair to wipe gold that traders have worked for an earned but allow naval officers and crafters to keep their xp and such? Gold is a trader's xp. Early access or not if one can find a reason to wipe some then one can find a reason to wipe all. Either way for most of us starting over will result in finding something different to play. Earning gold is not easy. You actually have to invest time in doing it. Where as earning xp is joining a fleet and shooting a few ships. Much more fun in the grand scheme of things and not worthy of anymore protection than the rest. And you can rest assured if you wipe the steam communities progress you can look forward to many bad reviews and as a long time steam user those reviews greatly influence mine and others perception. I can link countless games where ive read a flock of bad reviews and passed immediately. If you have done something so horrendous as to draw the ire of a small army then you aren't a game worth supporting. And if you felt the game worth 40 dollars to a large community of gamers then you should have had your affairs in order. If early access covered absolutely any circumstance then you could say an acceptable change would be to just shutdown the servers immediately after 100000 sales. Development is not the same as wiping progress. Playing through development has a point. It may have a change in gameplay but you aren't sinking hundreds of hours into something only to have it deleted and essentially made to have never existed. I didn't pay 40 dollars to Alpha test. You can pay me to do that. I mean if wipes are considered then why not post that on the store page? Clearly outlined. I'm guessing because no one would bother buying it and you know that. To quote what is on the store page of Steam. Is this the same as pre-purchasing a game? No. Early Access is a full purchase of a playable game. By purchasing, you gain immediate access to download and play the game in its current form and as it evolves. You keep access to the game, even if the game later moves from Early Access into fully released.
  19. Cheap input materials doesn't mean cheap ships. It just means rich shipwrights. Supply and demand.
  20. The contract change is silly. You are basically putting a red X on the traders with a lot of cargo by revealing that intel. And since you can easily access a nations trade without a second account its a pirate/enemy's wet dream. Traders prefer anonymity. Trying to hide that fact behind us wanting to be privately traded is dishonest. If I put goods up for sale at a set price I have zero interest in being harassed by people complaining or wanting a better deal. It also sounds like a way to grief unpopular people by allowing the boycotting of purchases from any given individual.
  21. #1 Insurance would be exploitable. #2 False flags would be exploitable, and quite frankly undeserved. If you want to hunt traders take the risk like everyone else. Piracy should be a option of desperation for hard economic times in a nation, not a chosen path full of overpowered gimmicks.
