  1. Kind gentlemen and ladies, Who favors the idea of removing the European Trader facet of the economy and going full player-based? Is it even feasible at this time, with the current size of the playerbase? ...I would argue it is plenty feasible, given increased and/or cheaper yields from player-owned facilities. Cast your vote and let us all know your thoughts! Cordially Yours, JPJChris
  2. I know I've posted this fellow before...here's some more of his artwork. Truly enjoyable and moving....do enjoy.
  3. AVAST YE SCURVY DOGS. Happy Wednesday to you all! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Talk_Like_a_Pirate_Day
  4. Solid post. No need to pussy-foot around the subject.... As Lord Admiral Nelson always said, never mind the maneuvers, go straight at them...
  5. Dearest devs, We would love cosmetic things such as ship paints, bow figures, and custom flags. Unlike other DLC, cosmetic items would be of very little consequence to game mechanics. Cosmetics also provide a source of steady revenue....what's there to lose? 😃 Kind Regards, JPJChris
  6. Oh my goodness! @Vernon Merrill, how is that "ocean - aged at sea" business? I've seen it and been tempted by it multiple times....a luxury worth the price tag?
  7. Ladies and gentlemen, Who do you enjoy enough on our wonderful world wide web so much that you throw currency at them? I subscribe to one such individual only, however I am sure there are those among you who will provide equally wonderful and enjoyable persons of interest. See: Internet Comment Etiquette
  8. Greetings ladies and gentlemen, Share that which you use to imbibe! Be it spirits, beer, other substances, or all of the above! I'll get the ball rolling: https://jeffersonsbourbon.com/ Some of the best small batch bourbon I've come across!
  9. Appropriate music for discussion.
  10. Greetings fellow captains, This is a peculiar question. Who among you all believe in omens? Are good or bad omens more prevalent in your life, if you so subscribe to them? Greatly looking forward to this discussion. Thanks in advance to all participants

    The Admiral

Wonderful stuff. Thank you for sharing 😊
  12. Because any good sailing playlist can use some classic rock....
  13. Cheers to a grand game gone by. Never played it, but always heard good things.....hopefully the playerbase make their ways to NA!
  14. I figured this would make for a very fun topic. I've recently learned that uttering the name of the play "MacBeth" supposedly causes bad luck. To me, this is as amusing as women aboard ships being considered bad luck.... What things have you heard that are apparently bad luck?
  15. The entire Braveheart soundtrack is quite fantastic....wonderfully composed. Fitting music for a beautiful tale of true life history and struggle.
  16. Great post! Thank you for sharing 😎
  17. Greetings my dear fellows, Is there anyone privy to the marketing plans and strategies for this wonderful game of ours? It has been many moons since I've seen a Steam marketing campaign, which is a right shame.... Advertisement of the game is critical to infusing the playerbase. One may think the market is already flushed out, but I believe there to be players-to-be yet! Kind regards, JPJChris
  18. Awful business. The loss of the Library of Alexandria comes to mind...

    Key to sucsess

As with all massive multiplayer-online games, ease of integration to player-run organization is undoubtedly critical to long-term success. With ease of integration to player-run organization, content is insured to be continually generated with only minimal intervention from devs required, if required at all. Devs: in addition to new marketing campaigns, you must provide ease of access for clan joining and clan management. Your players are your lifeblood, and if they are continually allowed to bleed, the game withers away with the sands of time. P.S. I am unawares if player count is currently stable or not, I'm only providing my 2 cents here. Providence knows we could always certainly do with more captains overall. P.P.S If lack of revenue is currently an issue, commandeer the Team Fortress 2 model and monetize customization of ships, flags, etc. Get a real cosmetic market up in this b, and you'll ensure a steady stream of revenue for time immortal.
  20. Fantastic thread, wonderful history....thank you for sharing 😊
  21. Oof. The salt is strong with this one...
  22. Three cheers! Huzzah! .....any word on timeline?
