  1. Great! You can simply add me on Steam, give a shout in the nation chat in-game, and/or hop unto our TS: na.lynixgaming.com - someone will assist you. God vind!
  2. You're more than welcome to join us! While that sounds nice, we're quite attached to our TS-server that we share with some lovely Dutch people.
  3. Well done! May your forces swell and your wind always be favourable!
  4. I've had no such reports, but you're welcome to try. Perhaps we'll get a good scrap.
  5. Sounds good, there are others working on something similar I believe. We'll stay on PvP 1.
  6. Fortunately, during last week, the navy of Denmark-Norway, aided by a Russian expeditionary force, managed to thwart Swedish advances in Puerto Rico by intercepting their fleet and preventing it from assaulting Guanica, which Denmark-Norway is now offering protection.
  7. This should be "Danmark-Norge". We now use the contemporary Danish version of the name, and our tag is VIE. We'd also like to emphasize that our clan is international and that we mainly use English within the clan. May I suggest: VIE / Vest-Indiske Escadre (Danish West Indies Squadron) (Multinational, English speaking) Thanks for making this. Cheers!
  8. Greetings! You're welcome to sail with us if you like. Add me on Steam or simply ask in the nation chat for Vest-Indiske Escadre.
  9. @eebo: Thank you for the kind words, I hope you'll enjoy sailing for Denmark-Norway, and you're welcome to sail with us at any time. Fair winds! PS. Is that also your in-game name, or do you go by another?
  10. Of course you're right, Voi_Ta, but I'm sure most people would sail for Great Britain or USA anyway. On this subject, we've been discussing which name to use in-game; before the EA we used the English version of the name, "Danish West Indies Squadron", with the tags [DWIS], but it was decided that we should try using the contemporary Danish version, "Vest-Indiske Escadre", with the tags [VIE], this time. In terms of suitability, the English version would be better for PR perhaps, but it's also slightly controversial since it doesn't include Norway in the name, and we've had an influx of new Norwegian players recently. We could of course use "Dano-Norwegian West Indies Squadron", but that would neither be historically correct (wasn't in contemporary use) nor very practical. The term "Dano-Norwegian" also usually refers to a certain dialect of the Norwegian language, more so than the pertaining to both Denmark and Norway in other areas. Other options might include "Danish-Norwegian West Indies Squadron" (though that combination is rarely used) or "Royal Danish West Indies Squadron", stressing that we're talking about the Danish crown rather than the Danish nation exclusively. It's important that we decide soon so other clans will not be confused when we change our tags, and so it won't be too much of a hassle when/if we remake the clan to change the name.
  11. There are three ways: contact one of us on Steam (links in the first post), contact us in-game either by asking in nation chat or messaging either "Daniboy3000" or "balticsailor", or you can jump on our TeamSpeak (na.lynixgaming.com) and try to poke one of us there.
  12. You find yourself newly arrived in Christiansted and are looking for employment? Look no further, join the West Indies Squadron of Denmark-Norway!
  13. Velkommen broder! Add me or one of the other contacts on Steam and we'll sort it out. You can also send a PM to Daniboy or Balticsailor in-game.
  14. I'm not quite certain what he's envisioning here: I think he's saying that there should be six 12 pound carronades (or "howitzers") fore and aft on some kind of "blocks" or devises so that you can turn them to the sides when necessary; meaning that you'll get that extra firepower for the broadside.
  15. (1) There was a battle in the bay of Køge in seventeen hundred and ten. For Gyldenløve's fleet the sound was closed; he had to pass by the Swedes. He therefore set out from Køge waters north north-east towards the enemy; but in the van was Huitfeldt on Dannebroge. (2) As Huitfeld approached the enemy, the Swedes fired fiercely, Baron Wachtmeister himself on his man of war and two frigates also. As Dannebroge's lieutenant saw all this, he said: "Captain, we fight against three"; but Huitfeldt answered: "Yes, what of it?" (3) But when the attack was at its height, there was fire reported on board, and Huitfeldt saw that if he fell off, he'd fire Gyldenløve as well. Then five hundred and fifty men bellowed: "Soon she'll blow up! Head off towards land!" "Let the anchors drop", said Huitfeldt. (4) And then there was silence on Dannebroge. The pieces themselves did shoot. And the fire stood high above mast and hull; but the fellows stayed as was ordered. He stood amongst them and looked around; then he bent his knee that pious man - and the vessel flew whence the flag had come.
  16. Just as a side note. I really don't like the medieval French and English flags used right now: how about having each side use the flag of the nation that's most numerous? In case the same nation dominates both teams (which is unlikely), perhaps use the second largest nation's flag for one of them; or an alternative would be, in that case, to use other flags like the current ones or the pirate flag.
  17. Yes, as you can see by some of the answers earlier in this thread, you can contact one of us through Steam and join us on the TeamSpeak (see the contact details in the opening post). We speak English here because we're not exclusively Danish speakers in the squadron - we also have Norwegians, Germans, Americans, etc. Hope to see you in the West Indies soon!
  18. Thoroughly enjoyed it! One thing I don't understand, though, is why you let that Bellona run.
