Motivate to do PVP

Recommended Posts

Gentlemen DEVS. today PVP if you are not an expert is losing the boat, because you do not have the experience of those who only do PVP and also are not available to all exclusive upgrades of PVP Marks. Or the Wasa.

To obtain that experience it is evidently achieved by doing a lot of PVP, and that is where I want to end up.

What do you think if for the simple fact of participating in a PVP match a player already gets 5 PVP Marks and 10 PVP Marks per sunken ship? (the PVP Marks number is for guidance only). Help us, motivate us to do PVP !!!! At no time is it a matter of harming the players of PVP, I think it is the opposite, it benefits them that people leave much more to the PVP. And in the end we would end up with the PVP farming.

Thank you. Greetings for all.

Well they went full force on pvp content, this is expected outcome. I think Devs need to list problems they can't solve and let us come up with ideas. It feels like we are running in circles.

In my eyes best motivation would be to give free ship for pvp purpose only, let's say oak/oak surprise and on top of it reward in pvp marks for damage.

There should be no reward at all for someone that is only participating as it will be unfair for people that go out and sink others.

For surprise killed you are getting 7 pvp marks if I remember correct. 5 for participation is far too much.

damage orientated rewards:

1 for 1-49% dmg of total shp of sides + structor + sails.

2 for 50%-99% of total dmg.

reminder of pvp marks of total reward after sinking.

If captain of this ship will surrender no rewards are payed out. On sinking redeemable for same ship should be awarded after maintenance.

This ships should be marked as pvp trainee ship and only this types of ship should be able to fight eachother.

I think PVP marks should be based on performance in the fight.

If you show up and surrender you dont get a thing.  If you show up and fight and it is a close fight but you lose, you should get some marks for putting up a fight worthy of being called a fight.  If you show up and get blown out of the water while your tried to fight, as long as you did damage and did not surrender, you should get at least 1 mark.

But there should be more surrender options, like if I fight someone who surrenders I should have the option to take his cargo and leave his ship, or take all.

I honestly think that if you lose a fight and at least do enough damage to some extent you should get at least a small amount of PVP marks, heck even just one. That alone would be some incentive for more people to want to PVP.

But the best thing most players can do it just buy some cheaper strore bought ships or have some clan members craft you expendable ships. Just go out and fight. if you lose the ship no big deal. Only way you will improve.

This. Getting rewarded just for fighting is a big deal. As long as someone does get sunk then it shouldn't be abusable.

Fighting a long fight but not getting any kills leaves you with xp only.

Motivation:

want that wasa or first rate?  Earn it, fight for it, die for it.

Want to get better? PvP! Go with friends on comms (in game chat is a lost fight vs most groups) and learn from mistakes to get better.

Charity pvp marks for just showing up is bad motivation, its as if you join and just hope the others can kill them *points at* le greenzone coast guards. Altough sail damage should be more properly awarded

When people show up for an honest fight it isn't charity.  That's something we want to encourage.

Awarding PVP marks for ganks and sinking helpless traders IS charity.

Sinking traders is meant to be rewarding. Since cargos don't matter because inflation has nerfed the value of everything only pvp marks make it worth while to attack traders.

Most of us aren't ever going to get enough PVP marks for a Wasa in the current system.  Going out to PVP is giving away easy PVP marks to your enemies, which discourages people from putting themselves in PVP situations to begin with because you don't want to strengthen and encourage your enemies.

This. Currently its more effective for a nation to DENY fights from their enemy than attempt face them. So much for motivation.

PVP marks as a whole were a mistake and could be replaced with large combat mark payouts instead. That way we aren't screwing the economy as well.

Why should sinking defenseless ships (both traders and weaker warships) be rewarded?  It isn't an accomplishment.

End of "discussion".

No charity, you are right, but if all the squad that have won, says that the fight was very good, devs could introduce a little reward. I mean: the squad that win, if (and only if) all its capitains says “yes, this was a very good fight”, should have the possibility (after a quick vote through a button YES/NO), to give the loser squad some reward. It’s just an exceptional case, i know, but with this, you can incourage both sides to fight braverly...

Why should unescorted traders be allowed free reign to move around. Even an AI in fleet can be the difference between losing your trader or not.

Why not?  Does it somehow offend you personally, LOL?  When I see traders sailing by I give them a salute.  It's nice to see other ships on the seas.  If you want to steal supplies or deny shipping to the enemy in time of war, then the supplies or the denial of shipping is sufficient reward.

No its not sufficient reward. There is almost nothing in the game that is considered valuable cargo anymore. PvP marks are the only reason to kill traders.

We are on totally opposite sides of whether we should even be able to kill traders. They might as well be untaggable if you don't get at least 1 PvP mark.

Need exponential reward curve for pvp. A 10v1 shouldnt be rewarding at all. Will promote players to at least try to fight in fair and maybe even undermanned numbers,  because only from those fights you learn.

It's funny because PVP marks are the reason why nothing is valuable. Remember when you had to craft your ships? PVP marks are a fast pass to play this game without the MMO aspects.

"Traders" without escort carelessly moving crafting mats around because they cant be touched in their beloved safezone dont add anything to the game. Waste time sailing a trader where you cant get attacked anyway to craft a ship, or get ships through pvping. Some prefer the latter.

You could already get ships through PVPing by capturing them from players. Again, we don't need PVP marks.
