Hotfix for patch 9.96

I don't think I ever asked the Devs to do anything. I just wanted to clearly point out how the numbers would affect PvP2. I am 100% informed that there will be only 1 PvP server at launch and I am 100% for 1 PvP server instead of 2. So if the numbers help PvP1 since PvP1 is probably more realistic in terms of how the game will work, then by all means that will be how the aggression works.

Again, I just wanted to bring light on how it will kill PvP2 small population nations. If something could be done about it in the meantime? great, if not? oh well.

Merge would be cool ONLY if it is US based and on the east coast. I would straight up quit the game if my ping is over 300. Currently 250ms is good for me.

I'm in Indiana with a 190 ping on EU, and I know Jeheil is an Aussie on EU's server as well. Ping is not a problem outside of boarding, which is getting a rework to be less ping intensive anyhow. C'mon over. We have all the fun.

I have a 3-5 Santa Cecilia that is Mastercraft. I believe all statistics remained the same but... If your Santa Cecilia was gold and then changed to purple, wouldn't you feel frustration?

No because it still has the same capabilities

Not in the slightest. Number of upgrade slots didn't change, stats of the built-in upgrades/trims didn't change. Those are still gold, even though the ship banner changed to purple. What on earth is there to be frustrated over? A color change in the UI? It's not like the ship became worse or anything.

Come to PvP1.

I come from PvP1, genius.

It would be a good idea if everybody is active.

I agree, it should solve the problem. I am sure the admins have got all the statistics needed to adapt. At now, some nations like France and Spain simply cannot raise hostility, and I have doubts for the Swede too.

LoL what?

Too hard to get 10 people together and do about 10 fleet missions? As that is all that is needed to rise hostility without other side interrupting?

Then i see spain 25 full pb fleet with about 15+ in screening or even more.

Same with france.

And you still bitch on forums about dutch being 2nd biggest nation. I found france and spain having similar playerbase as dutch.

Yeah the french on PVP2 are having a really hard time keeping the hostility they've gained up, especially when there is no PVP in the the area we are trying to cap.  We don't see any players in dominica to jump and do pvp.  We are forced to do missions and all the work we do eveyday disappears.  I know some of the small % of hostility is also due to french men helping the dutch gain ports (I've seen higher hostility on regions for the french, as some of the french players were helping the dutch. then trying to raise the hostility on dominica.

He's not on pvp1... He left pvp1 and his comment was in response to someone suggesting the solution to the difficulties small nations have with generating hostility was to move to pvp1. At least that's how I read that exchange.

Just FYI, the French aren't helping the Dutch. The French get a % of whatever the Dutch generate because we're allies. Which is why when the Dutch get the hostility up to the 90s, the French have close to 40% for that area even though no one is there helping, same with the swedes and brits.

I wasn't aware of that.  I just figured because of the relationship between alot of french players and the dutch there are some that are helping them with out thinking about our own progress.  Though, if this isn't true, than I apologize to the french and dutch.

The wait for the update really hurt the french on pvp2.  WE have like maybe up to 10 active players, and thats a generous guess if you ask me.

You are off topic, we are talking about PvP2.

And for the french, they are still trying to raise hostility on an undefended port, and I have doubts they can finish it. As you can imagine, they will never be able to gain a battle in a defended area.

I don't know the real figures, the devs do, but let's assume PvP2 have half the population of PvP1 (I know it's way more less, like 1/8 probably).

Can the admin please answer this question ?:

Do the devs can and would like to set a different amount of needed hostility on PvP2, like 5000 instead of 10000 ? So the grinding effort / player will be approximately the same on PvP1&2.

Edit: well, am I crasy or it went back to 50pts/PvE kill ?

It is a nearly impossible task to take an undefended port as there are just too few players for France on PvP2 - and even less players for Spain (if there are even any).

France has 4-5 players on most days, and a handful more who are on occasionally.  Sadly we can't put together groups of 8-10 people, let alone a group of 10 with 1st rates....

I have well over 4,000 hostility points against Dominica - and a couple more of us probably have similar numbers, but with the daily drop in hostility percentage, I can't see a way of taking an undefended region with so few players.   There's no PvP, and an endless grind of PvE.  Very discouraging at the moment.

Hi, can you address the lack of hostility % for PvP kills of allies. It appears killing players of Allied nation reducing hostility (defending), does not increase hostility of attacking nation.

Also, can the hostility points be relative to ship killed. Killing a privateer should not equal a Connie. (For example)

If you are from PVP2 then sorry. But with 1st quote i understand it that you are on pvp 1 and nations that you listed have numbers to rise hostility here. More then enough.

Otherwise i excuse for being harsh. I`m just tired of their constans whine about brits/dutch being zerg and they have some if not bigger numbers then us.

Want to Fix it Put a mark on the Map(so every1 can see it) were a hostile mission is taken place you will get pvp then even on PVP2 or high light a square still have to search for it

It doesn't even have to be an exact location.  Have the port that the missions are closes to bleep up red so folks know that it's going up the most in that area of the region and to go patrol that area.   The problem now is that you have to patrol a whole region to find one little battle.   Hell most the time we have found them from when they pop out as a group and run back to port to heal up or get more missions than finding the actual cross swords.

I made way more than it cost me to get away.   My Belle took the brunt of the casualties because it is commanded by an idiot.  I gave it the retreat order and it sailed RIGHT through the enemy ships.  It lost 60 men, before the doctor perk.

I have an old exceptional I kinda keep around for the hell of it that I use in my LVG/Indiman fleet when running cargo and hunting traders (with the LVG).   I swear that Captain is one of the biggest morons around. I'm going to bet he's some rich nobles son I HAD to bring into my fleet to keep in good favor with them or something.   Lately I been using a good stated Fine Essex I captured to escort my LVG on it's trader hunts instead.  Who ever is the Captain of that ship is going places. I'm pretty sure it's one of the powder monkeys from my Sanit as he's a beast at desailing ships for me to board...lol

Yah I get bored and think of some back stories for some of my ships and their captains.....long hauls at sea can do that to you.
