Daily Log in Bonus
Teutonic replied to Clifford Scott Wilson's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
This would be a great addition. -
for those who don't check steam, this is what is written: Captains! This game has been in early access since early 1716. This long time was spent on perfecting the combat model and sailing simulation; which many claim is the best in the world. No game has come close to the replication of the Age of Sail sailing mechanics and combat.Thank you all for your feedback, bug reports and constructive criticism - you helped to make the game better. In the next 2 weeks we plan to stabilize the build, provide final updates for localization (including the steam page) and publish the roadmap for the 2019. Thank you again. So it is nice to know we get a roadmap of things to come.

Still my absolute favorite battle and it was still the "beginning" of the OW NA that we know it. This was back when 3rds were all capped and it was a real sight to see them in battle :). The defense of Pasaje.

I am hoping for a new thread for release instead of using this one.

Pre-Release Server Status Information
Teutonic replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
I don't know about you guys... but I am ready for the first port battle where both sides are max port bonus (the max possible of whatever it is) with the best woods all kitted out with Blomfields for the best long guns . The "new" Golden Fleet. -
Pre-Release Server Status Information
Teutonic replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
"I hate the game, it sucks" (continues playing) . It comes down to the fact that there is nothing else quite like NA at the moment. I like the game, but I'll be the first to join some others when they say the game does not seem "ready." I think it boils down that "clear communication" has not been a forte for the past 3-6 months. We are left with questions that have some people worried will be left unanswered. I look forward to the release, but I agree with others in the hope that it doesn't mean the game is "done with development" if you know what I mean. With so many games and game companies that work to continue development of the game way past it's release date, it's hard to swallow the thought that the game may be unfinished, and yet there is no plans to continue. In the end, I think the hyperbole of the doom and gloom of the game is a bit much. Those of us who play now, will be playing 3 months later - we all just hope more players come back and stay to also enjoy the show. -

congrats to a release. I personally hope it comes with some patch notes of what you have been cooking. I hope the transition will be smooth, look forward to release. -
Crafting question: where do you get recipes?
Teutonic replied to Anne Wildcat's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
You no longer have to "find" ship blueprints, they are automatically unlocked as you level up your crafting rank. When it comes to Book recipes though, you have to unlock them in the admiralty, or find them on the high seas. -
Port-upgraded 1st rates
Teutonic replied to vazco's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Admin/Devs have said they are going to nerf the port bonuses and limit the total amount you can have in a port invested. but I agree, 1st rates with port bonuses on top of normal mods and books is absolutely nuts against a 1st rate with nothing. -
on the other hand, people I haven't talked to, nor that they played NA for 1+ year(s) have said they will come played again. most of the folks I know who stopped playing, stopped because they were tired of waiting for release and just took a long break until the game finally "starts." Of the players I know who have stated they won't play anymore for whatever reason, I won't be surprised in the least if I see their name pop up in global 1-2 weeks after release.

I have said it before elsewhere. But if the PvE server got optional port battles and duels (heck, make them lose the ship in a duel) - then the PvP server would literally be finished and dead ;P. I won't force anyone on the PvE server to PvP, but I really wish there were "nicer" and more gradual ways for PvE oriented players to try PvP on their own time. The two biggest wishes I have would be: 1. to bring back small/duel battles to the PvP Server 2. to allow PvE players a reason and a "place" in the PvP Server I know the 2nd one is a lot harder to implement, but it would be miles of improvement. I love PvE players because they enhance the player market ten-fold, they actually create economies and markets. What I get instead on the PvP server is practically zero markets and only money grubbing opportunists.

Actually i can attest that the in game report button works. I have reported a number of people in game that have had repercussions to what they say and do. To think that these things happen swiftly though is a lot to ask for a small dev team.

Frontlines
Teutonic replied to Gregory Rainsborough's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I think a manual lattice system should be created instead of just "based on distance" Can take from planetside for this example of a good lattice system: This would create CLEAR frontlines and avenues of attack. It would also give all players a clear understanding of what may be attacked next - or where they could plant o go to get to where they want to eventually be. -

wasn't it 2 ports? I vaguely recall it was 2 closest enemy ports and Admin bumped it up to 3. -
Quick Update: BORK will be Swedish through the Official Release. While we are mainly a US tz clan, we have a slow growing EU group as well.
-
Maybe so. It is up to each player to decide. I know everyone in BORK is planning to continue and from others who haven't played in a long time plan to play again. Granted that doesn't mean they will all stay, but the biggest issues people had were being in an active group. You gotta be active to have activity.
