  1. Maybe not obly the cabin boy, but also other "helping hands" for the captain; everyone thar read the Bolitho novels knows what I mean, keyword John Allday. The personal coxswain, the servant & co, maybe also a flag lieutnant as admirality reward for reaching Admiral rank, should be one multiplier for morale and other really tiny extras. How about getting a improvenent/a new captain's compagnion by time and service/ archievements?
  2. Where do you think the second flag would be appropriate?Just to say: two flags above one another has quite a different meaning (surrendered to/captured by...) Well than only this: I think, when we have clan/national pennants/user flags in adition to the national flag of the nation we are fighting for it will be ok. Additionaly a Trafalgar battle with all 8 national flags would be messy as hell.
  3. I though we will do a Frigate battle, but you all showed up in SoL, (exept the spanish constis). Oh well, I´ll trinc my way through the first one...
  4. Oh just one small thing, maybe one of you can delete all coming- yes/no choices in the sign-up sheet after the Traf battles. This would result in a weekly list who actually plans to come without those who signed up for the battle 3 weeks ago.
  5. So is frigates only official? I´d sertinly enjoy it like this.
  6. It not only is the launch date, it is the "level of modernity". Trinco is a Leda class (1800/1802) that is based on the even older french Hebe (1781). Mercury also does not feature such an advanced design as Independence does.
  7. Just to add: The german Schwert and the dutch Zwaard , both meaning sword, are known as centreboard in english. Although the dutch ships have two that are not in the centre at all and those are, as BungeeLeming said, leeboards.
  8. I think we already have her plans posted here some time ago, nice ship anyway. p.s. Copenhagen was 1801
  9. Additionaly the "Plattboden" (flat bottom) made it possible for crafts to fall dry in a level position during low tide.
  10. There is going to be another ship poll, proably -like its two predecessors- in winter. No british or US ships are allowed this time to give other nations a greater chance.
  11. Good luck to all participants, because of connection issues (my router apparently needs a minute long break every 3-4min) I am unable to join you. Decision was made at 22:05 after 7 reconnections in 15 minutes. Have fun and sink some Dutch for me!
  12. Brig and Brigantine are different ship types and not acronyms for each other. Also J.Lt as short for junior lieutnant
  13. Last year it was a seperate thread, wasn't it. I think it was way better structured and more user friendly. It was like this when I recall correctly: 1st Proposals 2nd Initial poll 3rd Final poll We already have Mercury btw...
  14. "Always as it was" equals: SteelSandwich is streaming, timing 22:00 CET, off Plymouth.
  15. You will get a warnig screen, asking you if you really want to comit to pirates before it starts the battle against the own nation.
  16. With the wipe delayed, will this week feature the announced Yacht battle or is it business as before?^^
  17. Nation players cant switch sides and this is good. Piratws made their decision to go rouge when they attacked allied ships, they should not be given a "well, I wasn't thinking, may I change again?" option.
  18. Both sides are able to reload, just with limited crew number. 5 instead of 10 for a 24pdr. Atleast that is how it is presented aboard HMS Victory.
  19. Surcouf, and what about rear ports? 2 front, 2 rear or any other mix? I DO know that guns can be moved...
  20. HMS Ambuscade, my trusty 5mod Surprise. Comissioned in Jamaica and used for regular patrols in the eastern carribean.
  21. Evertime I saw a person requesting advise in the chat box, 99% of the time Helene's helpful answer was there before I even finished typing. I already had the feeling Helene was a undercover account by the devs since she ALWAYS was there to share her immensuve knowledge. Job well done!
