  1. No point in having the DLC if everyone knows your past. You can't start over if you make a mistake or fall out with a major clan or elite players. History of kills, nation and name for players eyes only. Best way to follow and avoid a spy or thief is date of birth anyway. Like one of the guys that stole all of KOTO'S stuff. 7/5/2016. Avoid this DOB unless you can get verification of who they are. Keep your own list of dodgy DOBS. If someone changes clan, name or nation that's their business.
  2. Yes but I feel that to start playing around with a mechanic which most feel is fine would be to fiddle while Rome burns. Much more important stuff at the moment imo. I'm not saying never, just not now.
  3. No please. No more adjustments to game play. Let's get on with serious things that need doing.
  4. +1 Stop trying to waste devs time on something that for the majority is ok or not that important.
  5. Idea sounds ok, but I don't like things that spoil the immersion. A kind of heat radar in the age of sail ....I think would and should be avoided. Plus game may become go here, go there rather than go hunt.
  6. It's not about how long you want to play for. If you hunt another national in their waters it's how long they want to play for. We have been chased for 2 hours+ by the French using the tactics you describe and eventually after constantly retagging us we used up all our chain and they sank us. IRL this happened for days so it's all good. No problem or mechanics change needed in my opinion.
  7. I hunt all over the map and get most of my pvp out at sea. I try to avoid reinforcement Zone. However I have fought there if I can fight a suitable target to gank quiclkly and escape. But I think @admin should remove it. Remove the reinforcement zone and replace it with Capital zone. Make it less profitable and have gaps in it. Noobs and pve players can play with a small risk and lower profits and we have no crappy reinforcement zone because we can't attack anyone in this zone at all.
  8. I get most of my traders out at sea not in the reinforcement zones.
  9. This helps to lessen alt use not increase it.
  10. The pirate 'nation' in particular, is awash with ALTS. They scream about enemies then rush to fight them, then leave you all alone when battle starts lol. Most vets know them all, but it's not vets they are after, its new players. I am sure the other nations have them to. I don't have a problem with alt use in general but why would you sit outside a port guiding your main to attack noobs and lone ships etc. Hunting for an hour and chancing on an enemy player is far more enthralling! It's a feeling AH! ENEMY! WHO IS THIS!! Rather than, there he is......plunderer in a Cerberus....6 PvP marks or whatever😒. Sad.
  11. It is hard for shooters who have no boarding mods. I get that. But that's your choice to not fit boarding mods. You can't add anti boarding mechanics to the game because you don't want to be boarded lol.
  12. This is not needed imo. The current mechanic is actually quite accurate. These kind of comments are usually made by players who go full out shooting and ignore boarding mods and then get boarded and complain that its not a good part of the game. The current game gives more than enough opportunities for a defending ship not to be grappled. Ok, so to me DD is a crew and officers who are skilled at preventing a grappling event. Simple. As the crew numbers become overwheming no amount of technique or training will prevent a grapple and DD fails. The grapple itself is easy to avoid. Keep your speed up. Turn when needed, manual sails, reversing etc etc. Once joined you have the options of boarding axes, barricades, disengage etc. If you do not have boarding mods that's because you favour shooting and thats tough. Just the same as if your a boarder and you meet a shooter who sinks a you. Ship were always capped if at all possible. Put boarding mods on your ships and the system is fine. Dont put them on and you will struggle.
  13. I agree that this is a problem. SOL everywhere and probably to common and your suggestion of high maintenance costs may help. But some players will always want the biggest ships regardless I guess. Maybe epic events for all rates and better content will help.
  14. Thank you @Nick the cursed Its all cool. Only ever been Black. Never been in any other clan. I did used to have a different name before I converted to Islam though. 😜 That's true, Black briefly took some ports in the bahamas, some members felt it was a good idea. (I did not). So we took some shallow ports and hunted in the shallows. It did not sit well with most of the clan and was quickly abandoned. (I was very happy). Why on earth would we attack 6 SOL? We are pirates not nationals. You like Bellona's and Santi's and that's fine but they are not pirate ships in my eyes or in reality. They belong with the nations and Pirates should not be a nation imo.
  15. @Cetric de Cornusiac A very popular choice Efendi. You can have a very comfy slipper with every purchase. Buy one! Get one free!. Buy two carpets and get one for each foot! Did I mention the belly dancers......😉
  16. No. You don't seem to get free pirates at all. We don't WANT a pirate nation. You might. We don't. Raids, bounties, port blockades etc ate not effected. No SOL. That's not pirate. And be sure we do well in our small ships vs 1st rates. 😉 Two points on this. 1. Your a big RVR, Big clan player. Your view of logic and common sense is biased towards 'nation's and to be fair toward this end, your aims in the game are commendable. 2. I however, am a dirty, low life, pirate, ganker. Recently converted to Islam so I can sail my xebec selling carpets and slippers to all I come across. I have no common sense or logic. So please don't confuse me with someone who does. I sail where I want. I attack who I want. I help who I want. I have no allegiance to anyone other than clan mates and some of them I don't like.😘 But I have rum. Lots of rum. And some nice carpets....
  17. This is for nation's to do not pirates. In real life a group of pirates held Nassau for a short period of time. Teach blockaded Charleston for a few days and this led to him being hunted down and killed. You like RVR. That cool but it's not piracy. This is the most stupid thing in the game. Pirates rolling around in SOL. Pirates should be hard coded to 5th rate or less. Therefore no alt abuse. Pirates in SOL is total nonsense. Again, lots of nations to choose from if you want SOL join one of them. Remember that game has no letter of marque or other interesting stuff, so pirate "nation" unites privateers, We want proper pirate mechanics. Atm all we have is a huge amount of ALTS who sit outside Mortimer guiding their mains from other nations onto the pirate noobs and farming PVP marks. We don't want a pirate NATION we just want pirate mechanics. +1 This ^. 😁
  18. That's how some of us real pirates play now. But the 'other' pirates ruin our immersion. I know that sounds selfish...But hey I'm a pirate.
  19. Also talking about yourself in third person is the first sign of madness. Black Crow knows this. Black Crow smiles to himself.
  20. Suggested so often by so many, it hurts. With this in place no more silly plastic 1st rate sailing, disney pirate, multi alt, "nation.' #makepiratesgreatagain
