  1. We really need a clan based diplomacy system in the game. Would be nice to have limited duration war declarations against any clan (even in own nation, but no RvR). War decs would have to cost something (Reals/dubs/marks) and have a time limit accordingly. Resolution of wars would be based on time, number of kills by BR, or mutual agreement. Own nation wars would have to be excluded from admiralty pvp mission kills. Maybe even an outlaw system could be added. Players could attack anyone but if they sink their own nation or clan ally/truce players then they lose honor. They can gain honor by behaving and killing the right players. Negative honor would make someone an outlaw and they could be attacked by anyone. Would have to add a buy back honor feature in admiralty...and make it expensive. Adding bounties on players would be fun too.
  2. Solo players can also make their own clan in order to have the clan warehouse all to themselves...kind of silly but it happens. It does not really break the game in any way. I don't think the OP suggestion would break the game either.
  3. Join a noob friendly clan while you learn the game.
  4. This feature is essentially already in the game: You could just spam your clan, nation, and global chat with an all caps message bragging about your newest rank. You could also PM spam all your haters and rub it in their face.
  5. Devs should add a paint editor and allow players to make their own color combos. Some of the crazy colors can be excluded (to protect my eyes). Also a similar feature for sails would be nice, maybe also allow clan logos on sails. Also add a "remove skins" option for players who just want to see vanilla ships and keep their virgin historical eyes safe.
  6. There are plenty of ship upgrades that stack bonuses, why can't we stack LH discounts (if clan benefits like LH discounts were added)?
  7. A LH cost reduction for shipbuilding in their own port would be nice.
  8. Give it 42lb carronades, the sailing profile of a lynx/snow hybrid, and make it a $50 DLC. In all seriousness, the more non-permitted non-dlc ships the better, I hope the devs add your cutter.
  9. No player on their own could come up with a Bellona permit every day, manufacture the S woods required, and craft a Bellona every 24 hours. Your principles are way off from reality. Redoubtable is better than the Bellona because it's free and therefore it's no great loss if one is sunk (Aka a yolo ship as you state). The stat difference between the two is close enough that player skill matters more. New DLC ships would not sell if they were not better or did not have some type of advantage over comparable ships. This game is certainly well on it's way to becoming P2P or P2W.

  12. Ok, so we have 1 S wood Bellona. Good to know. Let me know when you can produce one S wood Bellona every 24 hours.
  13. S-wood Bellonas are very rare. I dont know of anyone with one they built.
  14. If Germans are a large part of the playerbase then let's get them some historical ships too. The USS Penn may not have taken 21 years to physically build, but the entire process of beaurocracy and designing to the final product did take 21 years. Balancing ships isn't easy, but it can be done by setting the right BR and deviating slightly from historical accuracy.

  17. I can't think of any clan in my nation that does not accept newbies. If your clan is not accepting newbies then maybe you should. I can't think of any clans in my nation with the reputation of exploiting newbies. Maybe you should call out those clans on the forums with proof of exploitation. If new players want to wing it and make their own clan then great. There are always other clans that are eager to help new players regardless. I sometimes help newbies out by giving away ships...maybe one day they might decide to join my clan...or just build goodwill. If your nation is full of jerk clans, then that's the problem, not the lack of free ships.

  19. I did say "authorized" (aka when they essentially started its construction process). Granted the USS Penn is borderline in the period. I still think it would be a nice addition. The devs should add ships according to the playerbase. If mostly Russians, Dutch, and Americans play the game, then mostly add new ships from those nations. Not all new ships the devs add need to be the most powerful in their class. They can be balanced by setting their BR to an appropriate amount.
  20. Or join a clan and they will give you all the small ships you need...for free.
